I had the therapeutic massage (1 hr) with Carrie, which comes as a discount for first time clients. Carrie addressed all of the problem areas we discussed, she took care of the knots in my shoulders and the tension in my neck. While I was on my back, she gave me a heated neck pillow with herbs. I have never had that with a massage before, and it made a big difference in comfort. I was also able to purchase one to take home. It is great for relaxing while watching t.v.

The service is the best I've ever had and, unlike some I've been to, she didn't short change me on time. She was attentive to my needs. The difference between a good massage and a great massage is this: A good massage you don’t want to end. A great massage you can’t wait to get up and start accomplishing stuff. I have been a client of Pamela for several years (starting when it was called Bodyworks) after I needed some help with nagging injuries due to running. I chose her because she was nearby and didn’t look affiliated with any chain (some experiences at chains have been fine but the overall experience has been uneven). I don’t believe I would be running still if not for her. She’s kept me active and taught me a lot. It’s not that she can only explain to me why I have an issue (usually something with my calf) but also demonstrate what’s causing it (usually something in my hips somewhere). Another thing Pamela is really good at is listening to what my problem is. She listens to what my goal is and makes it her mission as well. There’s been more than a few times I didn’t think I would get to the starting line and her work got me there. For the last couple of years I have scheduled a session the day before running a marathon. Usually I would think it wise to avoid total relaxation before a race because a little tension is good for a race. So I explain that to her-that I just want to “fix” what is abnormally tight but to leave a little tension in the muslces. And dang does she get it right each time. For the last marathon in Richmond (11/16) I got off the table and wanted to run the thing right then and there. The day before I was unsure if a nagging knee inury would even let me run. Halfway through the race I thought “She’s a miracle worker!” I couldn’t even remember what leg was the one that had been giving me problems. Her massages are good, no doubt, but more importantly - they’re great.
