I attended this school in 1981 back when it was Jay Scherer's Academy. I was in their second class. I took over 1200 hours, 1000 in their full-time program and 200 additional hours during their weekend programs. I found the school to be full of integrity, quality and depth. It provided a rich and whole foundation for my life and work. I am eternally grateful for Dr. Jay and for the amazing teachers and staff who enriched my life.

I am currently enrolled in the 700-hr massage therapy program at the Santa Fe School of Massage (SFSOM) and will finish my training in a couple of weeks. Being a part of this program has been an incredible journey of learning, transformation and growth. The curriculum is expansive and includes various modalities such as Nurturing Therapeutic Massage, Deep Tissue, Shiatsu, Polarity and Bio-Dynamic Cranio-Sacral. There are also the science, business and ethics classes which make this program very complete and thorough. SFSOM has amazing instructors who are all truly passionate about their massage therapy practice and committed to teaching. I am also grateful for the opportunity to come together in a learning environment with my fellow classmates as they all bring their unique experiences and perspectives to the group. After several months of joining together to share and learn, we have all become very close and supportive of each other. I would highly recommend SFSOM to anyone who is looking to learn and expand their knowledge and begin a successful career in massage therapy.

I loved the comprehensive curriculum at SFSOM that extended beyond learning massage itself -- anatomy, ethics, business, deep tissue, hydrotherapy, and so much more. I felt prepared upon graduation. Most of all I loved the friendships I formed with my classmates. We still keep in touch today!

I had the opportunity and pleasure to attend Santa Fe School of Massage in 1995 when it was still called Dr. Jay Scherer Academy of Natural Healing in Taos. To say it was a transformational experience is an understatement. My teachers, classmates, and curriculum, combined with the healing energies of the land of New Mexico led to great awakenings on every level, mind, heart, body, and soul. Not only did I learn the technical and energetic aspects of massage therapy and related healing arts, which for me, led to a decade of work as a professional massage therapist in private practice and in collaboration with holistic and western medical professionals, but it connected me with life-long friends. If you're looking for a school with heart, that is also comprehensive and will prepare you to be a confident massage therapist, I highly recommend Santa Fe School of Massage!

I attended in 1993 when it was known as Scherer's Academy of Natural Healing. It was by far the best experience of my life. The teachers are amazing and the administrators really care. I have been given a 25 year career and counting that I continue to love. I also go back to Sante Fe for continuing ed when I can.
