I started seeing DJ last spring in hopes that she could help me with a chronic neck issue. I had been seeing another massage therapist, and had received some relief for my neck from her, but only very temporarily and not to the extent that I was hoping for. After reading reviews of DJ's work with neck issues, I made the switch and have been shocked and utterly thrilled with the relief she has given me in such a short period of time. We moved this past week and I expected that if anything was going to put my neck back out in a major way, it would be moving - but I had zero issues with my neck and shoulders! I injured my neck 30 years ago and never would have believed that I would ever get out from underneath the constant fear and threat of my neck "going out", but I have, due 100% to DJ's deep tissue work on it. DJ works on it a bit every session, as need be, to keep it maintained, along with a minor shoulder issue that she has also nearly eradicated. I also enjoy the very easy and enjoyable camaraderie I have with DJ, the serene and beautiful office and the very convenient and accessible location. Appointments are structured such that you don't feel in the least bit rushed as you are given the entire 60 minutes (or whatever time you book) with DJ - and very ample time on either side of your appointment. It is abundantly clear that DJ is passionate about her craft and truly pours her heart into providing relief for her clients.

The massage rooms are clean, and create a very relaxing setting for a great massage. DJ is awesome and is very knowledgeable about muscle structures. I have numerous problems which cause my back muscles to go into spasm. I have had this most of my life and have been to many doctors and chiropractors which never really helped much. DJ on the other hand is better than the best drugs I have ever been given by a doctor. After an hour with DJ all my stress is gone, and my back is very relaxed. The only bad part is I have to leave after she is done, I could just fall asleep on the table. DJ works with you and listens to what your issues are before working on you. My Physical Therapist recommended I see her after they could no longer assist me and I am so glad they did.

The massage therapists at Beyond Basics Massage are wonderful. They are well trained, very knowledgable and offer several different massage options. If you are an athlete looking for help recovering from an injury or to ease muscle fatigue/tightness, this is the place to go. If you are looking to pamper yourself with a relaxing massage, this is the place to go. The treatment rooms/office are clean, welcoming, and comfortable. I look forward to going each and every month!

I Went in for a massage to help with my shoulder and upper back chronic pain. For a while now, I have been suffering almost daily with poor movement, pain and the inability to properly use my arm at times, which was very frustrating. I went to Beyond Basics after getting to the point where I could barely move my arm by bedtime, and I got tremendous relief. Not only was the place absolutely impeccable (and I'm picky about that type of stuff), my massage therapist Rebecca was courteous, personable, professional and had wonderful massage technique. I have already booked future appointments to continue to work on this area of my body, as my muscles have been strained and tightened through improper use for a long time, and I am ready to invest the time for my own self care. I am so excited to return to not only get the benefit of healing my body, but the treat of a relaxing deep tissue/hot stone massage.

I just had a massage today from DJ at Beyond Basics and Bodywork. It was an amazing experience. The setting is relaxing, immaculate and very professional. When you sign up for an hour massage that is what you get, not fifty minutes like so many places. No one tries to sell you any product. Their focus is the needs and issues of the client. This company was recommended to me by another massage therapist in Amherst, I was looking for someone that could help my husband who has cancer. When I heard that the entire staff had received training for working with oncology patients, my husband thought he would give them a try. He was so pleased with their ability and always felt so relaxed and energized after his massage. I highly recommend this company!

World class. I was a regular client of DJ's for over a year (until a move out west) and noticed a difference in reduced back pain and increased shoulder mobility after the very first session. I have had regular massages for the past several years and can honestly say that DJ is at another level. Her past work with performance atheletes is evident within minutes. Unlike any other massage therapist I have encountered she is able to find deeper muscle issues, pinpointing exact spots that need to be worked through. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Fantastic. To anyone that needs true body work, not just relaxation, this is your best bet in all of southern NH.
