I always have a great experience.

Horrible customer service and ridiculous policies. I got two $35 gift cards for Christmas and scheduled appointments not realizing there was a $35 admin fee if you don’t use it within 12 months. We were not told when they were purchased nor when I called to schedule and said I would be using gift cards. I even tried scheduling within the 12 month time frame and either couldn’t get anyone on the phone or was told they were booked for that period and would need to call back when the period ends. So it’s near impossible to schedule in a timely manner anyway. I also was never told of the 24 hr. cancellation fee. When I called to explain they were unforgiving and I was forced to cancel my card in order to avoid an additional $70 charge. Enjoy our $70 donation myotherapy. Because that’s all you will be getting from us or anyone we know.

I had a great experience, the massage I received very relaxing.

Normally I like this place, but I am deeply disappointed by their policy today. I had some unexpected medical issue yesterday, less than 24 hours from my appointment. When I called them first thing in the morning, I was informed that they will charge me full amount for cancelling less than 24 hours ahead. In addition, they won't take me due to my medical condition. Basically, even if I do show up they won't take me. Also, there is no voicemail services for me to leave messages. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that they will refuse me service...and charge me still.....what kind of customer service is that? Update - my appointment was at 2:10 PM, and at 10:30 AM they already charged my card WITHOUT authorization. That is before my appointment time. Now thinking about it...when I was there last time there was a lady there disputing the charge too. It seems like there is a pattern here. Update - I had another appointment next week, and I have every intention to honor the appointment.....guess what? They cancelled it! Without asking me! They did call to see if there is anything they can do for me, but since that date has past their policy limitation, I haven't yet called back because I don't think I need to! Ridiculous!!!

My favorite place to get massages

This was my first visit to Myotherapy Institute. My massage therapist, Dyllon, was professional, considerate, and delivered a wonderful Swedish massage. He worked out "knots" in my muscles that I didn't even realize I had. His technique was excellent. I highly recommend him, just wish that he had more openings so I could come back!

Diane Terpsma

I love the atmosphere and every student I have had has done a great job!

Missy Ellis

My husband and I love going to the Myotherapy Institute for our massages. It is a lovely facility and we have never had a bad experience. You can't beat the prices! I recommend it to all my family and friends!

April Barnes

Lovely atmosphere and the students are all very good. I have only had an inferior massage maybe twice in the last 5 years. I keep going back!

Amy Connett

I have never had a problem until today but it was enough to lose my business forever. They're system was down & multiple students that no showed no called but I get that things happen. All I expected was some grace in their errors, maybe an "I apologize were a little off today" but they were rude to multiple customers waiting, didn't care to listen to frustrations of others having to reschedule 3-4 times for the no show students & when you mention they could just be nicer to their customers you get escorted out to leave. Bottom line they got a waiting room full of people in late to their massages due to their computer problems & shortened everyone's massages but charged the same price. I said that's not good business practice, goodridence & never again.

Katie O'Brien

Brianna did a great job! I loved my Swedish Massage!

Jennifer Kuncl

Love the services and the prices! Only down side is it take a while to get in- many dates taken

Kerry Milius

Massages are great...My husband buys me gift certificates there frequently.

This place gets total ZERO ratings from me, I received a gift card that I couldn't use because it depreciates by the month, by the time I could use it, they we're booked solid and the card had a Zero balance. I would call that thievery! The Receptionist needs a lesson in manners. Will never go back there.

My Chiropractor recommended Myotherapy, and I'm glad he did. Clean, professional, therapeutic, and affordable. Everyone there is friendly including the person checking you in at the front desk. My thrapist today was Courtney, and I feel 100% better.

Sue Miller

Have been going here, monthly for years. Always friendly, and get a nice massage for a reasonable price.

my three best three

I’ve been going here since it was on 56th Street. I loved going to this place. A week ago I had to cancel an appointment due to a work emergency, so I called the day before my appointment. Since I only called 19 hrs ahead of time instead of 24hrs they still charged me. I understand rules are rules but under an emergency I don’t understand that. They got my spot filled so it was obviously enough time. So they made twice the amount of money for that appointment. In September I had an appointment scheduled for 10:15. Around 9 that same day they cancelled my appointment due to a therapist calling in. They had no times in the near future to reschedule me. Which I was okay with because stuff happens. So they make rules for other people to follow but don’t feel they need to follow them as well. When I pointed this out she didn’t have the decency to respond. When I asked to speak with someone else regarding this matter, she never responded. She only responded to tell me that’s their rules and I won’t be refunded. It’s disappointing that they will take advantage of a long term client. I guess I will find somewhere else to go.

I've been going here for years, 2 appointments at a time at least once per month, last week I had my normal 2 appointments, but we couldn't make it, so I called on Thursday to cancel our appointments for Saturday. On Monday I look at my CC charges as I always do and I see 1 charge still on my card. I called to let them know of their mistake and I'm told I only cancelled one appointment... Really? Completely ridiculous! I cancelled both appointments! They don't give confirmation numbers so I have no proof. She said they cant just take my word for it! WHAT? Really? What kind of customer service is this? I can't believe it! Very rude! Very bad customer service!

Wes Haecker

I had Nicole today 2-22-2019. Nicole was very pleasant to talk to and she did a fantastic job. I would recommend her to everyone. Thanks for the great message. Wes

Elisha Williamson

Relaxing atmosphere, heated tables, friendly staff. I only gave 4 stars because its almost impossible to get an appointment. Seems like the availability gets less and less each quarter and unless you book all your appointments the day the schedule opens up, you won't be able to get in.

Christopher Crawford

Obviously, this is a teaching institute, so your massage is from a student, but given that, I think they do a great job. Nice rooms, heated tables, easy scheduling, and it's very cheap. I've been there multiple times and plan to keep going.

Ryan Matthiessen

$35 gift cards with a $35 admin fee after a year is a terrible policy. Who does that? It really reflects your dedication to customer satisfaction.

Morgan Mallory

They are great!

Christina Paulson

Therapists are hit and miss but when you hit a good one stick with them .

Pierce Coady

I would give the institute zero stars but seeing as that would lead to my inability to write a review, I'll give the company 20%. The customer service was less than satisfactory. I came in with a paper gift card, redeemable for one free massage worth $35. Because the date of purchase had been wiped off, the receptionist said she couldn't take the gift card. If the institution is so worried about the date of purchase on a gift card, maybe they should consider getting with the times. In other words, they should invest in plastic gift cards like 80% of businesses. Regardless of when the gift card was bought, money was still spent on it and if the institute wants customers to return then they should consider handling situations like mine more respectfully. I will NOT recommend this to friends or family.

Christy B

Always a great massage! Mixed feelings about blasting to the world how great this place has been, it will only make it harder to find an open appointment when I want to come. ;) These ppl are well trained, professional, friendly. Everything is so easy here, appointments by phone or through online website. They send reminders. Only 4 stars for limited hours, appointments fill up so fast, so difficult to get a spot. And I wish the check in form was pre-printed with all my info, so I don't fill in the same form every time I come.

Lilly Daro

I have had a few massages here and the students have always been friendly and provided great massages. This is my go-to place for days when you want to "treat yo-self"

Holly Benes

Do not get gift cards! While I have enjoyed their low cost services in the past, I have two gift cards that can't even be used. They keep telling me they are full and can't schedule, but the value of the gift card depreciates if not used. They won't change the gift card policy so they are really just ripping people off by selling the cards, reducing their value and refusing services. Total RIP off!

F K

I would totally recommend this place if you don't wanna spend too much money.

I usually get really great massages here at a great price! But the problem is getting an appointment. If you miss the day (typically don't know when so have to check every day) they open up the scheduling online you get no appointments. That's like 2-3 months without being able to get in.

Steven Peterson

Good value. Melissa did a fantastic job with my deep tissue massage.

Danielle Alesi

Great experience! Would definitely recommend!

Cindy Hennen

I have been to Myotherapy multiple times over the years. Because this is a school, your experience can vary student to student. Fortunately mine have been first rate and you can't beat the price which is about half what you would pay elsewhere.

Jennifer Stahnke

Great experiance

Jana Clark

Don't buy gift certificates here for services here. My best friend bought me one for my birthday. I was waiting for a special occasion to use it. It turns out they have an administrative fee that deducts value from the paper gift certificate each month it isn't used. My gift certificate is worthless now. It is too bad because I work less than a block away and it would have been nice to schedule something with them regularly.

Nicholette Smith

Friendly staff and students. I've had several massages with different people over the last year and I've enjoyed each one. I've enjoyed trying the different types of massages they offer.

Bryan Sypal

1 star experience for me. I would not recommend simply because of their "rules to fully charge you if needing to cancel". I know this echos what others have mentioned in these reviews, but charging full price b/c needing to cancel an appointment is a bit absurd.

Always my go to place when needing a massage. Great prices for great service!

I would not recommend Myotherapy Institute to anyone considering massage school. Please read this before you choose to addend this school. When I was shopping for massage schools I had trouble finding reviews on the school itself so I am writing this for anyone considering attending Myotherapy Institute. I am an adult student with a Bachelor’s degree and graduate classes (plenty of experience being a student). I am a good student and a rule follower. I understand how to be a student and am prepared to put in the time and work to be successful. I have just completed the first 10-week session of classes at the Myotherapy Institute. I finished all of my classes with good grades, but have just withdrawn from the school for several reasons that I will list here: • After about the first week of classes, paper towels in the bathroom were gone and no one replaced them for weeks. • Our practice space ran out of disinfectant and we were told by the Provost, Wendy, to use hand sanitizer. We were told that disinfectant was on order but it didn’t arrive for weeks after we ran out in the practice room and the classroom. • We were told that we would receive massage tables two or three weeks into the program and I didn’t receive mine until about week 8 of 10, regardless of the fact that we were required to practice outside of class • We were required to wear uniform shirts the last two weeks of class, but they had not arrived by the end of the session (10 weeks) • Students are not allowed to wear hair that is anything besides a “natural color” for the sake of “being professional”. I have purple in my hair and was told that I had to change my hair color before doing clinics even though, having my hair in a bun, the purple could barely be seen. All the while, the supervisor who works the appointment desk has blue hair. • My class had lab practice times for three hours on Fridays. The only instruction we were given for the lab time was that we were to “practice massage”. We did massage exchanges each week after which we had extra time every week. The last week of classes we brought snacks as we had already finished all of our classes and turned in our practice logs. While we were enjoying snacks, Wendy, the Provost, began appearing and ordering us to get busy and practice massage at which time we put our snacks away and did the massage practice as we were told. Wendy appeared several times while we were doing massage to make sure we were working. After our massage exchanges, we cleaned up, put all the equipment away and had about 30 minutes of spare time as we had every week on Fridays. Wendy, once again, appeared and ordered us to get everything back out and do massage until the end of our lab time at noon. This was frivolous and absolutely inconsistent with what we had done each of the other 9 weeks we had done lab, yet Wendy felt the need to choose our last day of lab to act like we hadn’t done what we were supposed to do and to demand that we massage every minute. Regardless of the fact that it takes at least 10 minutes to set up and at least another 10 to clean up and put away. • When I scheduled a phone meeting with the Director, Sue, about the interaction with the Provost, Sue supported Wendy’s behavior entirely and told me that adult students (like me) who are accustomed to running their own lives sometimes have trouble learning to be students. • I asked the director to reconsider the hair color policy and she informed me that they would not be changing their policy for me and that if I didn’t like it I should reconsider my choice to attend this school. All of the instructors I had were very good. I have no complaints about the actual classes or teachers, but I found the administration is just insufferable. I went to massage school to learn massage, but I refuse to be treated like a child, scolded and micromanaged. I expect to be treated like a student paying for an education.

Terrible customer service!! They do not honor gift cards past one year of purchase. Even though it is not stated anywhere that they charge you the full price.I bought 2 gift cards, was only able to use one because of how hard it is to get an appointment. Then I was charged another $35.00 when I finally was able to be seen. I ended up being charged $105.00 for my massage. No where on there website does it talk about the extra fees and when I was there that evening, she said nothing to me about being charged again. Too bad they run a business that way.

Great massage and can’t beat the price! I like to go and get gift cards for friends and family!!

Katie Frisch

Love the price. Nice clean facility

Customer service is a negative 1. I called to let them know that I was ill and to reschedule an appointment for that afternoon. Whoever answered was extremely rude and inconsiderate. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she put me on hold and then hung up on me. So I called back got the same girl who hung up on me again after I told her that I would cancel my card. I never did get to talk to a supervisor and I called back again and I kept getting their voicemail in between all of these calls she went ahead and billed my card for the appointment. I've heard from others that this same girl has been very rude with customers on the phone. That's enough for me not to want to go there, thanks anyway. Customer service makes or breaks a business and theirs is BROKE.

Jamie Rohda

Great appointment with Melissa. Hard to get appointments in general.

Lorraine Sullivan

Had been there before and was happy with the service, then I got a gift certificate and tried to use it. The extremely rude receptionist would not accept it since it had 'expired'. She wasn't nice or helpful in anyway, just annoyed with me for not being aware even though there was no expiration date on the card, apparently it expires after 6 months, and the date of purchased was written on the back of the card in a sharpie marker. I had no idea. They seem to be willing to sell lots of gift certificate cards with no intention of honoring them. Maybe they have so much business they don't need or want new customers?

Monica Haecker

I was very pleased with the massage I received today. Room was warm and quite and Ivy concentrated on areas where I’d been having issues, thanks

Kurt Weekly

Nice and friendly people from start to finish. They are willing to listen to your needs. Kurt

Tony Chipman

Great service at a great price!

Duana Freeman

I've been getting my massages here for years! Great quality massage for the price.

Karissa Bettendorf

I love this place. The massages are great, the prices even better. The facility is lovely with a peaceful atmosphere. I have been several times and have never had a complaint. My go-to for massages!

Matt Ormiston

You can't beat the price. I've had very acceptable massages here and will continue to go regularly!

Justin Watts

Where you call it is just a automated message. You don't get a live person even during business hours (called multiple times). I have questions but can't even get any answers. Terrible customer service.

Megan T.

Director talks down to those with mental disabilities.

Jairin Drevo

Affordable, professional! Today I was actually massaged for 43 minutes, so the only reason this isn't 5 stars is because they give too long to dress/undress in my opinion. But this isn't just one student, it's the way the place is run! I have had amazing student massages, but today's was exceptional. Her name was McKayla, and she was truly incredible!! Sooo relaxing and yet she went deep into the tissue to truly treat the problem areas!

John Lloyd

We make it a point to go here whenever we are in town. Very affordable .Very professional .If you are new to massage this is a great place to start .If you have had several professional massages you will not be disappointed .

Ms Gypsy

As a prospective student I had a difficult time trying to speak with or have a meeting with someone. Yes, I am a transfer student from another state who needs to finish hours. It took a month before I could get any answers from anyone. And it is very difficult when the phone always goes to voicemail and the office is only open until 2:00 pm. This school by far not very cooperative. I attended Esthetics School in Kansas City and Massage School in Denver and have NEVER had this bad of experience. Trying to discuss or have a meeting with someone at a school shouldn't be this difficult. Unprofessional and unwilling to help.

Amy Tallon

I had an appointment called a couple days before to verify they stated yeah they had me on the scheduled. I showed up and they said I was not on the schedule and asked if I booked online and I said yes. They stated oh we lost those appointments and booked someone else in my spot. I took off work to go to this appointment never offered any accommodations. Tried calling never got to talk to someone. Left messages and Never returned my calls. I would rate customer service as a ZERO. The students do a great job.

Hannah Fagan

The massages are great, the students are polite & the price can't be beat. The only thing that would make it better was if there were more appointment slots. They go WAY too fast & I sometimes can't get in for a few months...

Andrea Picotte

Danielle Hecker

I have been a client for years and have enjoyed all my massages. It is getting harder to book appointments -have to book them all at once when schedule opens. No chance to re-book with favorite after trying them out.But price cannot be beat and 50 minutes is wonderful!
