Let me start off by providing an intro of my "massage history," as I find this super helpful when reading a review to see how closely relatable someone's opinion is to your own! I was a D1 college athlete and suffered a lot of injuries - specifically lower back and hips. Due to injuries (and just a love for spas!), I have received a few hundred massages in my life (everything from sports massages to the St. Regis & other luxury spas) and therefore I consider myself to be an extremely hard judge when it comes to massage therapy. I came to Johnny after reading his reviews - and to be quite honest I wasn't expecting much from such a small town in Montana. But oh was I wrong! Johnny is extremely professional, truly cares about solving your problems, and I would recommend him to absolutely anyone. He has an obvious passion for what he does, and it shows! My favorite thing about his massages and the experience is that he is very educated in various techniques, and is very communicative during the session. He wants to make sure that you are benefiting from each and every minute. The main issue that I find with trying to search for a new massotherapist - especially on vacation or while traveling - is that reviews can be very subjective, depending on the individual person and what their massage preferences are. The beauty of Johnny's approach is that he has many different tools in his arsenal - so he can satisfy any client, regardless of what their massage preference is. Most massotherapists have one routine and/or technique, and if you aren't a fan of what they specialize in, you are out of luck. Johnny will talk through different options to ensure you are enjoying the session, which I think is extremely rare. I would recommend him to anyone - one of the best massages I have ever had! Happily, there was absolutely nothing to worry about and in fact, I found my new favorite type of massage! Johnny Cochrane and I met several years ago. I was referred to him by a friend in Kalispell , I live in Missoula, about 3 hours away. I make sure to schedule as often as possible when I'm in the Flathead Valley. Johnny's massage techniques are tailored to my needs for each individual service. There are a lot of "cookie cutter" massages and I recognized immediately that this was not the case in his office. I appreciate the hard work that goes into massage therapy. He is amazing at what he does. I was in tons of pain last year and he really helped me out. If you have a real problem and need help he’s the man. He’s very oriented on figuring out what the root of the problem is and works hard to figure it out. He also gives you tips on stretching and exercises you should do to help alleviate your problem. One of the best massage therapy treatments I've had. I have multiple injuries and chronic pain from car accidents, falls from horses, and from biking + skiing + running. Also as a mom schlepping a toddler on my hip and getting back into running my body is a wreck. Johnny's massage is deeply healing and helped to restore range of motion in my neck, and balanced my nervous system. His treatment is unique per individual needs; for myself he incorporated a sports massage approach with some relaxation, and trigger point therapy for tendinopathies in my wrists and forearms. I have received hundreds of bodywork treatments from around the globe, and his treatment is one of the top on my list. I started seeing Johnny in hopes of easing severe migraines. The fact that he has the ability to use many techniques and tailors your session for your specific needs is great. Before every session he goes over what was done previously and discusses goals for the current session. He gives feedback and allows you to give feedback as he is working on you, allowing for the best experience possible. I would highly recommend Johnny to anyone from athletes to the elderly. Johnny was so wonderful! My acupuncturist recommended I go see him and I'm so glad she did. He was super thorough and explained everything about his location and his practice. I NEVER book another appointment at the end of a first session so I can judge how I feel, but I booked another massage with Johnny instantly. I get a little discouraged when I pay a lot of money for a massage that is just relaxing, not productive in working out some knots and tension, and I was really glad to meet a massage therapist who understood what I was saying in our consultation.

If you are vacationing in Glacier Park, Whitefish or on Flathead Lake and are looking for an EXCELLENT massage experience - Johnny Cochrane's studio should be your only phone call! Traveling through the Kalispell area, I researched reviews online and decided to go with Johnny's studio - and I am SO GLAD I did. I have received massages all over the world, and Johnny delivered one of my best experiences to date. He is a skilled technician who uses his hands and feet to deliver a simultaneous massage experience on both sides of the body at once. Think about that - most massaeurs work one side and then move to the other side - parsing the massage experience. Johnny works both sides and engages on pressure intensity, sore spots, and body alignment. I realize this review is a bit effusive and if you read through many of my other reviews you will learn that I am typically more critical -- but this experience was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise. DO NOT THINK TWICE - I promise you will leave satisfied.
