REVIEWS OF The Healing Arts Center IN Missouri

As an ex-student of this school, I must say I was extremely disappointed. The HAC's big draw is its claim of being very "laid-back" and "personable" when it comes to students and their needs. However, this leads to a very cliquish, drama-breeding environment that has the tendency to border on unethical. Many students have wonderful experiences here, but I was unfortunately not one of them. The turnover rate in the office is astronomically high (obviously for a reason, about 4 staff members quit their jobs in the 6 months I was there), the new director is kind of a jerk, and all kinds of drama happens among teachers and students alike. If you're looking for a more professional, non-intrusive massage therapy school, this might not be the school for you. I will say that the teachers were phenomenal, especially Dr. Dan. The education was definitely comprehensive, and the building itself is beautiful. But the general message that gets conveyed is "We're all a big happy family here, so we should all trust each other and not keep any secrets". That's a very nice idea, but in reality, some people are uncomfortable doing some of the things taught in that school. For example, reiki 1 attunement is mandatory. Many people seemed uncomfortable with that, as did they with the 45-minute breathwork exercise, but everyone was encouraged to participate. Those who didn't participate were talked about in their absence, sometimes disparagingly. Again, the whole "personable, intimate" environment gets exploited by people who like to gossip, including some instructors. I guess, mainly, personal space isn't respected as much as it should be. If a student doesn't want to talk about something, do something, or participate in something because he feels uncomfortable, he has every right not to. This school has wonderful potential, but as it stands, it's not very accommodating of its students. In fact, it has the tendency to be rather hostile and incredulous of its students. Many times, the students are treated like children. TL;DR: School's laid-back, personable attitude breeds a lot of drama and cliquish behavior that sometimes borders on the unethical side, turnover rate in the office is immensely high, there's too much emphasis on spiritual/religious practices even when students feel uncomfortable participating in said practices, not enough respect for personal space when students feel uncomfortable.

The Healing Arts Center (HAC) was a life changing experience. By attending the school I found my purpose. The education was not soully the root of my inner change, but the people that I was surround by. All those who attend HAC are eager individuals that desire healing and growth. The only issue I ran into was the "God like ego" the headmaster has. Healing and growth is a humbling experience and should be treated with a gentle touch. At my graduation, instead of talking about how far we came and how much we changed the headmaster talked about himself and the school. My grandparents were very upset with this speech. As a student of the HAC and experiencing this ego and decided to be humble with all those I cross in my path.

I took the Foot Reflexology and Zone Therapy two day course here on March 25 & March 26 with Marsha Mathers. HAC did a fantastic job picking a person to come here and teach foot reflexology. Marsha Mathers could blend into this school, her personality and way of being fits this school. She believes in the benefits of breathing in the same fashion HAC teaches the importance of breathing. Yes, I am currently a student at HAC. I learned how connected the foot and body happen to be. All participants were consistently astounded at how touching the foot positively impacted a spot on the body. I wish she could be an instructor at HAC and I would love to take more workshops from Marsha Mothers.

I have had very good healing experiences here with attentive healers. There is a positive vibe through the center.

I am currently a student at HAC, and will graduate in March of 2016. I am a US Army Veteran. I began my healing journey in 1982 as a Combat Medic. I was also a Paramedic, until 2014, when I my career ended, due to a catastrophic knee injury. I first heard about HAC in 2000, and it became my Someday Ilse. In September of 2014, I began the process of starting Vocational Rehabilitation with the VA. The school was not one the schools in the Veterans program. Through diligence, and many people, the school became part of the program. When I started in March of this year, I had no idea, that the most important part of HAC, was learning how to heal myself.

This school provided more than just massage therapy education for me. It helped me grow as a spiritual being. Objectively, the program is not perfect and may not suit all personalities well but I do think there is something in it - even if a small piece - for just about everyone.

After visiting this place and after reviewing the reviews. I have found that most of the reviews come from the employees and not all students. My daughter enrolled in the school and there’s a lot of shadiness with the financial aid office. There is NO WAY! That anyone in the financial aid office needs the password to anyone’s Financial Aid account. I had tried several times to speak with Jennifer Dieterle and she’s avoiding me as to why she needs my password to my FAFSA account as well as my social security number. I’m not the student but my daughter will be. I have other independent children who will be attending college as well and the financial aid office at their schools has NEVER asked for that information. Well Jennifer just to let you know I really hope you know what you’re doing when being fraudulent with the government as well as trying to steal someone’s identity. PLEASE DO A THOROUGH RESEARCH WHEN ATTENDING SMALL NAME SCHOOLS.

The Healing Arts Center has changed my life in the most positive way. I have truly found my passion in life and discovered myself spiritually, mentally and physically. The classes reach you on a very personal level but in my opinion I think it's to help you grow as a person and be able to connect with others. The faculty and staff are very dedicated to seeing their students grow and succeed in becoming healers for the massage community. If you are looking to become a massage therapist and enjoy helping others in a therapeutic way, then The Healing Arts Center is the right place for you! I couldn't be happier with choosing this school to further my career as a healer. Namaste.

The school's foundation is built upon the principals of love and caring for others needs as well as teaching each student the necessity to bring that healing love and care into our own lives first. I've only just begun the message therapy training course and from the beginning it has been a transforming experience.

I attend this program the teacher Oscar was very abrasive and unprofessional. The principal was a racist trump supporter. Tom is thee only person worth the time energy and money spent in attempting this place.

A beautiful place. Wellness, sensibility, practical, esoteric meets west, not to mention a good place for supplies. A blessed space indeed.

I took couses here years ago and enjoyed them. I am disappointed this program has become so far removed from science-based theories and practices and increasingly focused on spiritism. There are many massage therapists who would make excellent practitioners who do not wish to learn such practices. There are even more clients who are seeking a well trained massage therapist but not a spiritual facilitator. Not only is spiritism being taught, it appears it is being taught at the expense of theory and practice that would serve therapists well once in the field.

Tricia Kowalski

This is the BEST school in our own back yard. Highly respected! I believe that we can sustain and maintain peace in our hearts with the training and practice that is taught here.

Jesse Franklin

Extremely grateful for my education here. Some of these reviews are hilariously off base. Go see for yourself. This is the best massage program around.

Changed my life and still continues to do so.

This place is special. It has the most devoted and knowledgable instructors a person could ask for. Also the classes are hands on, even the anatomy and business sections. Some of the most passionate and willing classmates ive ever seen. I feel blessed to have stumbled upon the mystical place known as the Healing Arts Center. :)
