Michelle is my therapist of choice and I would be remiss if I didn't brag about her a bit... She's awesome! I have a physical job and this therapy really helps keep my body from turning into a pretzel. :)

Because they are able to work deeper than a traditional massage and really get at the stubborn knots we all have by doing Ashiatsu aka deep feet bar therapy. My only complaint is parking since it's all street parking and I am terrible at trying to parallel park. Update: I screwed up my low back and knew I needed a massage. Just not how *badly* I needed it the other day. Suzy worked my QL and glutes with me on my side and WOW, the difference that made in the way she was able to access those muscles and no, it wasn't a fluff and buff massage it was a very intense massage to help loosen those poor muscles up. It was awesome!!!!

I love the ashiatsu massages I get at Sole Shine - perhaps the best I’ve gotten - and I was a massage therapist and instructor for years. Each therapist has a slightly different style and personality, so though you can plan to get a great massage from each, you may find one that suits your needs or personality best. I have also done a Thai yoga session in attempts to gain some flexibility, but it would take multiple sessions for that to happen with me. It was a nice change of pace though. The best part about Sole Shine, besides the phenomenal massage, is the people and atmosphere within the company. A free and open environment is felt within the building and is reciprocated by the therapists and owners. It is hard to feel stressed at all when you walk into the place. They do a great job of creating a welcoming and soothing environment. Okay, now that aside, their therapists easily give some of the best massages I have ever had. The amazing versatility that is provided in their technique cannot be duplicated with mere hands. They even utilize their hands at times with their feet! I originally tried a 15 min sample of the ashiatsu massage on a whim, but now I solely (pun intended) receive my massage from sole shine because of the benefits of ashiatsu. If you have always been curious about, “whats that weird massage where people walk on you?”, then I highly recommend giving Sole Shine a try and you will see the amazing feeling of this “weird” massage.

I have a tricky back and hip. I appreciate how Alicia asked a series of questions and marked my pain level and trigger areas. In the middle of my last massage, the problem in my right hip and pain went off the charts when I was flipping over. Alicia handled my labrum tear with care and just the right touch. We had to end a bit early due to the pain. So we enjoyed some dark chocolate and water afterwards. I want to emphasize the pain surge had nothing to do with the massage, just an ongoing complication of some genetic bone issues. Alicia, Mel, Julie, Sara, and Sara-Nel have all treated my degenerative spine disease with tremendous efforts and passion. One of the great things about Sole Shine is the consistency of the Ashiatsu from therapist to therapist. Each person adds a little different something, but all have the training and practice and communication skills to work with me. This is important for me because my pain levels and trigger areas move about from treatment to treatment. I am grateful that Sara began this business. I try to show my gratitude by bringing really good and a lot of dark chocolate and dark chocolate with peanut butter to all my appointments. Also, I think it is important to offer a decent gratuity. This work, if done well, is hard on their bodies. I appreciate you! With sincerest gratitude.

I have had several different types of massages. Never ashiatsu. At first I was skeptical thinking it wouldn't feel very good, or if it I did, it would just be ok. But I kept hearing good things about Soul Shine, so I figured I'd give them a try. I'm so glad I did because the feeling is like no other. I found myself, many times, forgetting that hands weren’t massaging my body. It's gentle when it needs to be and deep and powerful when it needs to be, as well. The therapists are so kind and understanding to your needs. So each session isn’t the same. And the therapists are unique in their own individual talents but all are equally good. I highly recommend coming and giving them a try. I promise...you'll be "soled."
