Nicolette was the person who gave me the massages and she was great - she made it feel better and also had me so relaxed that I almost fell asleep! I would recommend this place and Nicolette.

Nu Essence is the perfect place for a getaway in Springfield. Their quiet room is really big, and they allow you to relax before and after services. I’ve received several different kinds of services there and they’ve always been great. The technicians are professionals. The receptionists will offer you waters, robes, and a private changing locker complementary. Finally, the best part to me is that the spa is locally owned by a great business woman and new clients get a discount!

Very noisy staff outside of massage room the entire 60 min. Front office staff seemed stressed out and busy answering phones and getting customers checked in. Lobby has flourescent lighting and 3-4 customers waiting in lines, felt more like a DMV than a spa. I cannot recommend this place for relaxation.

Nu Essence Spa is a wonderful place to relax for a couple of hours! Their facilities are clean and conducive to relaxation. Their staff are kind, patient and apply pressure with thoughtful consideration and when you experience pain just let them know and they'll quickly adjust how hard they massage you. I had a massage twice and both times they were amazing. The first time someone got me a gift card. This next I paid. I got a pedi as well. I got their maybe 10 mins early I knew their was paperwork. Checked in waited got called up, they gave me my robe I changed then waited. Got called back laid on the bed waited. Got massage it was sooo good. Maybe I'm just cheap but I did notice that it was not 60 mins later. Does that mean the massage begins from the time booked or from the time it starts? I can't afford this service very often wish it was a little longer. Then again they did give me someone's cancellation so I got in next day. I would still recommend it.

Well, Where do I start? I guess in the beginning. I get there and there was no one at the desk. So I looked around and waited and waited and no one came. I started coughing and the receptionist came up to the front and didnt apologize. She was LESS then friendly the entire time to say it nicely. I filled out my paperwork and went and sat down. I told her I was done and she rudly walked me to the changing room and gave me the key for the lockers. I changed and went to sit in the quiet room as I was told to. Next the facial came! The girl who did it was awesome and made sure It was great. I wished she would have used the high frequency machine on me more and the machine was also very loud. The facial girl was awesome! Next I got a Body scrub and wrap. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY! It was a different girl and she basically rushed through the whole thing because she was running late. She used the scrub for like 5 minutes and it was really disappointing. The wrap didn't feel like she put enough on the skin and it was just awkward. I defiantly would not want that girl again. Anyway, needless to say I wont be going back there anytime soon. So... just an update on this. The owner of the spa got ahold of me and was totally cool about the whole thing! She credited me for the scrub and im very happy!!

I love this spa! My husband purchased a couples massage for my birthday one year and it was awesome! I also purchased massages and pedicures for myself and my bridesmaids the day before my wedding. Everyone loved it, of course, and it really helped us all relax before the big day. It has been over 3 weeks since the pedicure and my toenails still look exactly the way they did on my wedding day. They use very good quality products there and the massage therapists, pedicurists, etc. are all very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend relaxing here!

I highly recommend Heaven for anyone suffering from shoulder, neck or back pain. I have been struggling with shoulder pain for weeks and her therapeutic massage was just what I needed. I initially started going shortly after a car accident to help with some pain due to the wreck. After working on those injuries, I started going to help with small aches and pains due to working at a computer all day. I always feel that my needs are addressed and that the message therapist goes that extra mile to help me relax.

First time there. Wanted a couples retreat however couldn't receive pedicures. Little disappointed wasn't able to do the retreat. Was a girl day with my daughter (which was her first spa experience) she loved her massage! I enjoyed mine however didn't do a lot of a back massage and deffenly not a 7 for pressure. However did love the atmosphere and staff was all very friendly!

I booked two back to back pedi appts as a gift and was told by the receptionist that the ladies booked could sit with each other while each got their's done. This was not the case and were told they had to sit separately. I was gonna book elsewhere because they didnt have 2 appts together. They liked the pedicures but they won't return.

This place is usually a nice place to go. This time was not the case. The staff was extremely loud in the hallway: slamming doors, talking super loud/laughing. Just a general disregard for people trying to relax. Everytime I was comfortable someone would slam a door or something. My massage therapist did a good job but she either had allergies or a cold and it was kinda unnerving. I told the front desk and all was said is that the message would be relayed. Next time I'll just got to a med spa so I know it's actually quiet and relaxing next time.

I started going to this spa and absolutely loved it. The staff is always friendly. However, not a good place for a group to go to the spa together. They are never able to get us all in together. I have tried twice with a small group of 3, calling many weeks ahead. The last time was in March and the person on the phone was not friendly. Will be going to a new spa in Springfield.

I went yesterday for the $99 special and got a massage, facial and lash tint. I had Jen C. for everything and she is AMAZING. I had her for my first facial ever and it was great! I saw and felt a real difference in my skin. I went back a second time and had someone else (I don’t remember her name) and it was just okay. I was expecting to have the same luscious results I did the first time and it was a little disappointing and fell short of my expectaions so I didnt do another facial for a long time. I finally decided I wanted another one with Jen C. and I was SO happy I did. My skin feels amazingly hydrated and my problem areas had almost subsided by the next morning. Jen really takes her time and cares about the skin. I will always have her do my facials. The massage was also one of the best I’ve had in a long time. I feel so relaxed and feel like muscles are actually massaged. I have a physical job and my muscles can become pretty tight. She does a great job of focusing on the places I have knots and is one of the best massage therapist I’ve had EVER. The lash tint was great too! If you go to Nu Essence, defiantly ask for Jen C. for your skin and massage needs ☺️

I had a wonderful experience at Nu Essence Spa several months ago. They participated 417's Spa Week and had a fantastic deal! I went in for a massage, waxing, and a spa pedicure. Every service was great and I felt so relaxed when I left! I loved getting a robe to wear while I was at the spa and I loved how every person I came in contact with was friendly and professional. Since then I have tried to make pedicure appointments a few times. Each time I have been unsuccessful, because the times I needed were booked or unavailable. There are only two pedicure stations at the spa, which makes it hard to get in during peak hours. That is my only complaint. Everything else about Nu Essence is FABULOUS!

It was my first time as a new client yesterday and I got a prenatal massage. I'm very dissapointed and upset my massage did nothing for me. I told the therapist to dip deep to get my knots out and it felt like all she did was rub my body down with lotion. I'm still tight and tense all over and didn't feel all floaty and relaxed like a massage normally makes me feel. I'm very upset and would not recommend worst massage ever! I came for a massage not a chat session.

I set up an appointment here for my very first Brazilian wax. While making my appointment via phone call the receptionist was very helpful and super kind. Upon arrival, the oils used for the massages filled the lobby area giving it a very calm, peaceful vibe. I arrived much earlier than my scheduled appointment but they got me in pretty quickly! Veronika was the specialist who performed the waxing for me. She is AWESOME! She made me feel very comfortable and gave me a very clear run down of the 'hows' and 'whys' of waxing since it was my first time. Definitely recommend this spa!!

The people are nice, but if you're an experienced spa person, your first alarm should be that there is not an available source of water but you have to ask, it's not offered but coffee is available Seriously, coffee is a a dehydration drink, and spa services usually require a hydration period. Secondly, your going to be wrapped in white plastic with rough towels instead of them using clean sheets with your services . Unfortunately I experienced laying with an unheated blanket and the wrap lotion was sparingly put on my body and had to ask for my legs ( shins) to be treated.. I got up and left, I'm really sorry, but you ladies are missing out on real spa service

The positive: we got massages from good, polite massage therapists. The negative: everything else. Broken water fountain in the "relaxation" area causing all sorts of mechanical noise. Rude front desk girl. Rowdy patrons making so much noise that it completely disrupted our massage, with a front desk girl partaking in the debauchery. When I sent a note to the spa outlining our experience, I received no reply. I don't know how this place is in business, but I suspect they're not long for this world.

Pre paid for 90 min plus tip and received 60 min Bamboo massage. Massage was ok but if you have had a really good massage this wouldn’t be the place. Performance details about a business can be very telling. Lack of precision and professionalism would be a pretty good indicator of the lack of leadership and quality help. Hopefully they can get a handle on this.

I scheduled a ladies night out for my offices and I was extremely displeased with how it was handled. We arrived about 20 minutes late (out of our control) and rather than explain to me that some of the services would have to be cut short, one employee received only a 30 massage vs 60 minute and many others were cut 10 mins short as well. Some people were offered robes and water, others were offered nothing. The "manicure" I received was nothing more than my nails trimmed and painted. While my staff was grateful for the spa night, most were disappointed compared to other spas we have been to. Spa staff should have verbalized to me that adjustments were going to be made. I would have gladly given up my services so that others could have received the full service that had been requested and paid for. That being said, my employees that received facials were impressed and some of the massages were spoken highly of. The manicures and pedicures were not impressive.

Got a one hour therapeutic massage with Meda today. She was incredible! I’ve had a massage at another location and I hated it. I was really hoping this experience would be different, and it was! The “quiet room” allows you to relax in some fuzzy socks and a large robe, while enjoying free chocolate, granola, mints, coffee, and a warm neck pillow! The massage was incredible. An hour seems so long, but I wish it never would’ve stopped! I highly recommend Nu Essence, and I recommend asking for Meda!

As a very stressed college student my boyfriend and his parents decided I needed the time to relax and got me gift cards for here. The gift cards were made out for the wrong amount but the receptionist got it all figured out and I got everything the card said I was supposed to get! I was given a very comfy robe with socks and given a very relaxing facial and massage! My manicure and pedicure was done very well and the staff even stayed late to finish my experience! I will definitely be looking into any Valentine’s Day deals to book for my boyfriend and I! It was an amazing experience!

I absolutely love the spa pedicures here. Oh my goodness.... The staff is amazing, the place is amazing.. Honestly, I have absolutely zero complaints for this place. My bff and I stop in for pedicures on our way back from or to Branson for our 'get away from the kids and husbands' girls vacation. This place is the icing on the cake! I give Nu Essence a 3 because, my experience wasn't what I had hoped for. It was NOT a BAD experience, it just wasn't the best massage. I asked for a 6/7 depth and She massaged my skin more than my muscles. I've had a Swedish Massage at Grove Spa and it was definitly better. I also agree with someone elses review about the front desk girls maybe need more training. For the price a pay.... there should be the best!
