REVIEWS OF Massage Envy - Edina IN Minnesota

While my massage therapist was awesome, the management at this location is incredible unprofessional and unhelpful. Screwed up appointment times, then charged me for not showing up, couldn't get appointments scheduled to fit my work schedule. Suspended my membership indefinitely with ten pre-paid massages on my account, then six months later, they charge my card on file AGAIN!! Don't ever get sucked into joining, you won't be able to use the services you paid for, and then you can't cancel your account.

The other reviews must have been at a different location or when it was under different management. They were great while I was setting to my couples massage. They were very up front about the process, they told me straight up that it would only be 50 minutes of actual massage. We had two guys and we were both very happy with their work. Very respectful of what we wanted and listened throughout the whole massage to what we needed. No one tried selling us anything and were all very friendly.

It was my first visit to ME last evening and it was a great experience. It was very clean and appealing inside. The gal at the front desk was very informative, very sweet, and what I appreciated the most is how she took her time with me! I had a massage with Chhavy, and she was so kind and gave me an amazing massage. Because of my amazing experience I enrolled in their membership plan and look forward to my next visit there in a couple of weeks!

I got a massage with Theo and got, by far, the best massage ever! I’m a hairstylist so, my back and shoulders are a disaster and quality deep tissue is very important to me! I’m very excited to go back next month for another massage! Thanks for the amazing work Theo!

Staff turn over seems to be high (in my experience) Making an appointment takes too much time. Please stop making your employees go through the same line over and over again only to then be put on hold. The appointment app developed doesn't really work. Massage Envy is a great idea in general, but corporate has a long way to go to make it work like it should.

Was on time for appointment lost at least 20 mins of session waiting to get in, got in room looked at clock and was mad stopped at 5:31 PM spend 130$ and we both lost 20 mins each reason why I will never go to big message company BIG RIPO OFF

Terrible Customer service! I made time out of my day to go into Massage Envy in Bloomington just to get turned down for a facial not knowing they wouldn't do it if a minor surgery was performed months before. Total waste of my time and was treated rather rudely by the office manager Ashley. What happened to the customer is always right! Had two massages after surgery without incident but no to the facial. This is a completely unreasonable rule and a waste of my time. Moral of the story: Do not tell them anything or you may be sent away too!!

Am a member of Edina Message Envy from 2012...didnt expect this kind of horrible customer service.Messed up my appoinment and wasted my entire day and on top of that rude behavior from one of the receiptionist who was arguing and defending the mess instead of appologizing. I was at the verge of cancelling my membership but luckily there was another nice lady in the receiption who handled the case politely---The service is getting degraded I feel.

Used to be a member here, but one of my favorite massage therapist left and was out on her own. The remaining therapists that I did like were super hard to get in to see because many of their therapists are sub-par. After seeing my favorite therapist in private for a year and a half, I thought I'd give Massage Envy Edina another chance after that time had passed. Well, seems things have not changed. I would not go to just any therapist here, get referrals from your friends before you go and request an appointment with them. I was placed with Cheryl, and lets just say this was the worst session of my life. It felt like when my grandma used to put lotion on my skin after my bath. I indicated deep tissue on my information card, and this was overlooked. She asked me twice if I was "okay". I said ok and fine as my responses. I should have said awful or given her suggestions but I was grouchy. It was like she was on a muscular scavenger hunt. It didn't seem like she was too new because she new my therapist from two years ago. She didn't seem to know muscle junctures well and seemed to just sort of poke at my tissue. I had two areas specifically I indicated needed some work- she totally avoided them. The lights in my room hummed because the dimmer switch is bad. So done with this location. They just can't get it together.

The massage therapists are amazing! The company is NOT! I have tried to close my account for over 6 months, lost out on 10+ massages and I am still getting fee's and I am not even getting massages. DO NOT JOIN!!! You can never get out of the membership....

Pricing on treatments is designed to scam you. Not respectable. The facility and staff seem decent enough but the pricing is designed to manipulate the customer by offering a cheap introductory price, then after any first treatment they surprise you with the information that you have to become a member to continue to receive that introductory price. Otherwise it basically doubles the price for anything you do there in the future. It is a monthly membership and you have to pay even if you don't receive a treatment for that month. This is a bad system. It's obviously designed to encourage repeat business, but it is also a bit of a gun to your head situation in the sense that they spring it on you and let you know you can never return for that same price you got unless you sign their contract. I don't do business like that. Perhaps if this were a social club or something that actually merited paying a monthly membership. However this is just a stupid Spa. Skip it.

First of all, 60 minute massage is misleading - it is only 50 minutes, with 10 minutes of "consulting". It doesn't take 10 minutes for me to say "deep-tissue please". Second, their cancellation policy affords the company more money than if you show up. I do take responsibility for missing one appointment (it would be nice if they wouldn't have missed their reminder call), but I was surprised to see the monthly fee that includes a one hour massage PLUS an extra $45 for the missed appointment. The point is that the monthly fee includes an hour-massage, but if you miss it they tack on another fee for the missed charged, effectively double-charging you. Oh and guess what? I used two different cards during different visits, and apparently they keep it on file without asking!!!!!!! The two charges came from 2 different accounts. I plan on cancelling after my membership is over, and in the meantime I'll get my monthly massage and the therapist will get $0 in tip until I recoup my $45. And you can bet your a** I will get documents from them when I cancel to prove I did indeed cancel.

Worst massage ever. She had one elbow on my back and I’m guessing a phone in her other hand as they were never on my body at the same time. Will never ever go back.

I had been treated very poorly at Burnsville, Apple Valley, and Eagan. They have different owners and completely lack any sense of customer service and their massages short you 15+ minutes every time, but the poor management won't do anything about it but make customer feel stupid for claim the massage 'went over to compensate' when it really didn't. Edina was a breath of fresh air because the staff was very friendly and they seemed to actually care about my experience. I was so impressed I cancelled my membership coming out of Burnsville and changed it to Edina. Run and hide from all Massage Envy south of the river, this one is much better.

I went to their Edina office and the girl named meghan never told me about the cancellation policy. She never told me I will be double-charged for missing an appointment. She never told me to give her permission to keep my card on file. She was too busy talking with another girl there. I asked for a manager(Sonia) and all she did was give a list of excuses. The only good thing is my masseuse was really nice lady. I plan to contact the District Attorney regarding consumer protection, Better Business Bureau, post my experience on any website that will let others know about my experience, and never go back to a Massage Envy ever again.

Dani is amazing. Best massage I have ever had !

Strom Aviation

My massage person is the greatest but the front desk staff have to be the rudist people I have ever encountered. This location needs serious customer service training.

My wife and I went for a couples massage. I had Casandra and she had Kamille and they were both great! It was my first time getting a professional massage, and we would both defiantly go here and see these two again!

I have come here several times and was less than satisfied with my massages. Once, I overheard two massage therapists talking about how stiff I was and how hard they had to work to give me any relief - they didn't. Multiple times, during massages, I've had therapists tell me how tense I am, and again, I received little to no relief. I had an appointment scheduled this evening but had an emergency come up, they still charged me over $40 to cancel same day, but I had absolutely no idea they had this rule. I was never informed when speaking with them. Honestly, I think massage envy sucks. They are too big of a chain and I feel they don't have highly trained massage therapists working there. They're a bit unprofessional here. Not everyone working there is bad, but at least at this location, I've never been relaxed. I leave more stressed than when I came in, and I will not return to this location, or maybe any of them ever again.

I have a membership here and have always had a good experience! The front desk staff is sweet, and Chhavy is AMAZING. I have yet to try a facial or stretch session, but my massage experience has always been great.

Have experienced couples and single massage. This location is the most professional, cleanest, best atmosphere, and most relaxing massage envy we have visited. Recommendations for therapists Cassandra and Camille.

Totally a rip off. Terrible business. They literally lied to sell their product and did nothing to remedy that. Selling based off lies will only get them so much business. In addition, they have terrible customer service, which after lying about how their product works (or having employees so uninformed that they lie unintentionally?) they HUNG UP on me instead of trying to make it work. I rarely hope bad for an organization, but for this sleazy company - I hope they go out of business. And, to top it off, worst massage I have EVER had!! Do NOT go here. There are plenty of other reputable companies and therapists to support.

I went in for a 30 minute assisted stretch. Zero complaints with the therapist and zero complaints with every other employee. That, however, was not maintained. They sell you a monthly membership for which you get a 60 minute sessions each month. Totally great until literally every therapist says they need an hour an a half to give you a really effective massage. First therapist I saw was amazing until the second massage session. I asked him to stop something because it was making my neck muscles cease. To which he took an attitude and kept it for the next hour and a half massage. I didn't return for 2 months - explained my issue and got set up with another therapist. I left in pain and not at all relaxed. Developed bruises that lingered for more than a week. I got a far more effective massage from a guy with a bad attitude and no bruises afterward. That says to me that one of those 2 therapists actually know what they are doing and unfortunately it was the guy with the attitude problem. The third therapist must have just gotten his license last week. We agreed at the beginning I was looking for a whole body so why am I asked 25 minutes into working on my back what else I want him to work on? I ended the session there since he had not managed to effectively do anything to release my muscle tension at that point. Membership cancelled. The saving grace for this location is their front desk staff. Management needs some work and apparently it is new October.

The experience itself was just fine, nothing exceptional or terrible. But when I went to return some unopened product 6 days after I had my facial, it was a mind-screw. After 4 attempts on my part, miscommunication and bad information on their part, the spa director NIKKI TOLZMANN had to get involved. That didn't help since her email communication was rather curt. I have read the reviews and unfortunately I would have to agree that this location needs some customer service training. I will never go back, and I certainly won't be shy about sharing my experience. Bottom Line: Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Training for staff is lacking. My wife called in a few weeks back to schedule a prenatal massage. Over the phone she mentioned several times that she was pregnant and the massage therapist needed to be trained on prenatal. Fast forward to the appointment. We arrive, sign all the paperwork and when they were verifying everything they didn’t have her scheduled with a therapist that was trained on prenatal. My wife took the day off (her birthday) so we could both go in for a massage. Needless to say, it was pretty upsetting for her. They did offer a free hour if we chose to come back, but as upset as she was, I don’t think she'll give them a second chance.

Claire Harper

Say what you will about Massage Envy corporate's business practices, this location is clean, the front desk staff is fine, and I have had excellent massages from Theo and Chavvy.
