Don't go. If you are looking for a salon experience, this is not the place. I have given this "salon" so many chances. Every other visit my colorist or stylist has been fired or moved on. Every time I get my hair washed, I actually have to request they remove all the dye or shampoo/conditioner - if you don't, you leave with a giant, gooey, wet spot on the back of your head. You actually have to ask them to not get/leave dye on your ears, face, neck - otherwise, they simply don't care. The girl "drying" my hair this last visit was ridiculous!! First, she doesn't fully wash out the dye, I can feel it burning. Then, she starts trying to brush out my wet hair from the roots (I have really long hair) and besides the pain, I saw her several times removing giant clumps of my hair that she tore out as she was "brushing" it. Next, she proceeds to burn my scalp by leaving the dryer in one spot, burn my eardrum by continually blowing straight into my ear, and then leaving my hair frizzy (I have naturally curly hair) and still damp. A complete waste of money and time, which is really sad because I love Aveda and have been to some amazing salons over the years in different towns. If you are going for a wax, wear crappy clothes because she will COVER you in wax and bruises. This place is a joke of a "salon" and the "manager" is one of the rudest ladies you will run across in customer service - she makes you feel like you are annoying and interrupting her busy day and she says rude things about your hair color or style when you check out. This last visit I left crying, glad I paid money for that experience.

I always have a hard time explaining what I would like but the hairdresser showed pictures to me and I showed pictures to her. I felt like I got treated like royalty and I can’t wait to return. I was greeted by a few stylists who were at the front, where one of them checked me in and offered me something to drink. The salon was clean and displayed a ton of products around the walls. I arrived after work and almost every chair was full. I waited for 2 minutes and my stylist, Adiel, introduced himself to me. He was the most educational stylist I've ever met. He told me about a few techniques he would use to remove some weight from my thick hair, without losing the length. He was precise with his work and talked me through everything he was doing. I'm definitely referring this place to others since you can mention my name and we each get $20 off a service!

I have been going there for half a year now and really love their service as well as their hair cutting/dying capabilities. I have been to countless hair salons that have all failed me miserably, to the point at which I just ended up growing out my hair as I had completely given up on getting a decent hair cut. Ronnie fixed that. He always does a wonderful job cutting my hair, and with cuts that are not easy to do. Their hair colorists do a wonderful job as well. I went platinum blond for a while which looked perfect every time. And I recently went to a dark brown, which from blond is not easy to accomplish with even/correct coloring. They did a fantastic job leaving my hair looking great and feeling healthy. I am habitually late person and they have always been friendly and forgiving regarding my lateness (has happened perhaps twice) which is incredibly kind of them as I am sure it has been an inconvenience to them. Late or not, I have never had to wait even a minuet any time I have ever gone. This is a very well run salon. I recommend this place to everyone I know and am glad to endorse them here online. Never been there when I booked an appointment online thru their website which states their is an opening at 1:00 pm .. i called to just inquiry about a service whoever answer the phone notifies me that the stylist cannot cut my hair because I am a new customer and he needs 15 minutes of consultation just to trim my hair and he only has an hour opening what happen here is this way to promote your business... might be a great salon but then they should not put themselves available ... too bad I had this experience with just making a phone call

Came to Level back in January, when I was new to town and gearing up for my wedding. I showed up, having never been there before, with a hair extension I planned on wearing for my wedding style and asked to get a color that would match. The stylist was brilliant! Not only did she give me the PERFECT color for my big day (NO ONE knew I was wearing an extension), but she heard me when I said I couldn't lose any length before my wedding and still managed to give me a shape-up that was worlds better than my hair had been in ages as well as a slew of suggestions for repairing my too-dry hair (and not just only tips that sold products, but also ones I could do with stuff I already had at home). I just left my second appointment with Level and left just as happy. My color is wonderful and she is great at balancing explaining what she is doing and why with comforting chit-chat. I've already made my third appointment there. On the whole, Level is very clean, welcoming and altogether a terrific salon. The front desk is always very welcoming, and they have cute programs that saved me On my services, which is nice because they aren't cheap (though I've had worse cuts for pricier in my time). Each appointment gets a complimentary drink (tea, coffee, wine, water) and a mini-service (neck massage, hand massage, mini-facial). I'd highly recommend Level Salon in Hyde park and the staff to anyone.

When I walked into this salon, I instantly got a great vibe. I hadn't been to a salon in almost 12 years before having my hair done here, so I was so happy when I found this place. The appointment was so easy to make (I did it online), and I got a couple of confirmation texts and a reminder text the day my appointment was scheduled, so that made things really convenient. The staff were so friendly and offered me coffee, tea, and water as soon as I went inside. I was greeted by my stylist, Cora, right away, and she thoroughly went over how she was going to achieve the look that I wanted and asked about my normal hair-care regimen to determine what would work best for me in my daily life. I wanted something low-maintenance with layers that would grow out nicely, and I got exactly that. She spent an hour and a half on my hair, and when I saw the finished product, I was so happy. The whole experience was so relaxing (who doesn't love having their hair played with?), and Cora did an amazing job. It helped that the atmosphere of the salon was very dark and quiet. For what I got, I was expecting to pay a lot more. For an affordable and chic salon with a staff that DEFINITELY knows what they're doing, go here. I'll definitely be back!

Go to Rhonda! She is amazing! I have mixed race hair that is relaxed, I went in for a dry cut & style and Rhonda nailed it! She is not only good at what she does but she has great attention to detail (which I'm always particular about) and talking to her is like talking to a friend I've known for years (and that was my first time ever having her as my stylist). I love the salon as a whole, very professional and a complete pampering experience. Well worth the price, which isn't bad considering the products used and the experience of the stylists. I've had a few other stylists that I've been very happy with, Bobby (master stylist that is no longer there) and most recently Dave (senior stylist who is also super talented and a treat to be around) and lastly Rhonda who was the cherry on the fantastic sundae of experiences that I've had over the past 4 years at this salon. Have never once had a bad experience here in over a decade until new owners made stylists sign non-competes & almost all of them left. Three appointments were canceled was how I discovered that. That was the first sign things had changed for the worse. Then months later I had first appt. with a stylist who was blatantly rude. Never had such an experience ever at any salon. Seemed like an unhappy soul glad to take out her misery on a customer. That was the 2nd sign. Then the prices were increased. This isn’t Manhattan or LA; used to pay $300 for cut, color, highlights, blow out, tips, bottles of shampoo, conditioner. After new owners, all same services & products were over $500. Insane. Then the 4th & final sign, I specifically asked new to me colorist to repeat my blonde highlights and then with wet hair in towel, was moved on to a talented stylist who had cut my hair a few times before & asked him to flip the ends. Promised to do so, patted me on shoulder & said “no problem”. Twirls the chair around at the end and says, it looks great! Hair brown, was not all blonde & ends straight. Then bill for exact same services & same products as purchased for years there, whopping $550. Never returned.
