I love this neighborhood spot with a focus on wellness. Donna is great for deep tissue and very helpful at helping you fix any issues. My only comment is...if you are looking for a spa experience, this isn’t really it. It’s pretry sparse inside. However, the fact that you can book 30 min massages affordable, whenever you need them, is pretty great!

After one massage, I cancelled my Massage Envy membership. I'm aware of muscle groups I had no idea were relevant to this kind of therapy. There's really no question as your being worked on that they know anatomy very well. Rachel & Marissa both have been extremely respectful & thoughtful in pre & post session chats. The atmosphere & environment is superior too - no extra charge for "aromatherapy" -- that whole place IS aromatherapy. It's great. I've felt like a new human body walking out each time.

Absolutely the best massages I ever had! I have been to Elm City Wellness three times with different practitioners. It was impeccable. Thanks to Donna and Jen! Super friendly, professional, considerate, and caring. I couln't appreciate this place more and would recommend it to anybody who is looking for short-time vacation or heaven-like-relaxation.

I had an amazing massage which was desperately needed. I wish I could recall the name of the person who did my massage, but she was wonderful. She was friendly but didn't talk too much. She asked appropriate questions and made certain I was comfortable. I am not in new haven often, but this is my second visit while on vacation. I plan to make ECW part of my vacation ritual.

My husband and I went here for a couples massage after our wedding to relax and de-stress. It was phenomenal. The therapists we're both excellent and definitely not afraid to get in there and release our muscles. The atmosphere was great and the price was good. We feel so relaxed and incredible, we will definitely be back.

I've never done a professional massage before, and now I sit here wondering how did I go so long without one? The service at Elm City Wellness is impeccable. The atmosphere is calming from the moment you step into their office. They're incredibly friendly, and thorough in what they do. I had the pleasure of being worked on by Rachel, who is very gifted, serene, and considerate. She made me feel quite at ease, and was able to work my body into such a relaxing state. Before I knew it, an hour had already flown by, and I walked home feeling like a head floating in the air. For what you get, the cost is a deal and I will definitely return. I recommend it completely for anyone who seeks a relaxing, nurturing massage experience.

My first visit, and I'm very impressed. Setting up the appointment was easy with a friendly voice on the phone. At the moment you must navigate a flight of stairs to get to the basement office, but I understand that may change soon. Jillian read over my history, asked appropriate questions, and answered any that I had. The massage was lovely and restorative. I went in specifically for a knot in the back below my shoulder, and she treated that. While doing massage work on the rest of my body, even I felt when she found a few more knotty places and worked them out. Jillian is also strong, and able to apply significant pressure, and works with her client to make sure it's the best pressure for each person. I like it deep, and she could have gone past my comfort point, but with conversation back and forth when needed, it was perfect. I will be going back! Highly advise.

Elm City Wellness is a gem! My fiance and I used to live up the street. It was our go-to spot for couples massage and facials for me. We love it here. When we recently moved a few towns over we tried a local spot - not the same as Elm City Wellness! We decided to continue to travel here because they are just that good. The space is inviting and relaxing. The receptionists are wonderful and apart of the experience. The massage therapists and estheticians are professional and thorough. The facial products are all natural and organic. We recently had a couples massage with Shannon and Jared. Shannon did an amazing job for me! My fiance has sports injuries and Jared took such care of him. He never had a massage like it, it was so personalized and gave him immediate relief. He gave him home exercises which was awesome! Love facials from Alyssa and Shannon.

This massage was bought by my son and daughter in law for a deep tissue for 90 minutes. My massage therapist, Ross, was requested by me also to work on some major areas. Sad to say that I got a very nice massage, but not what was booked or requested. The therapist decided to give me what he wanted. I did say something to the receptionist, which was met with sorry to hear that. I must say that when I got home that my back was still having the same exact issues that I wanted to be taken care of. As a trained therapist myself, it is sad when someone does not give you what you pay for and think that you won't say something.

Rachel really helped work out a pinched nerve in my hip. I knew the massage was billed as "therapeutic" but figured it would focus on all-over relaxation and general massage. Rachel really has the ability to address an area of pain. I didn't expect such a big effect on my level of comfort--my hip is much, much better now. Will definitely go back again!

Me and my husband had a couples massage at Elm City Wellness just yesterday, and it was wonderful. The waiting room smells delicious and has lots of health goods and books, as well as little knick knacks, for sale. I have several health problems, and my masseuse (I feel terrible I can't remember her name, but she was very short and petite) made sure to thoroughly ask me how to alter my massage. As for the massage itself, it was intense, but heavenly. She had some of the best finger strength I've ever experienced in a massage, and she seemed to hunt down every muscle knot and trigger point I had with perfect precision. While 60 minutes was not enough time to do justice to a full body massage, especially when my body is covered in muscle knots, it was absolutely wonderful. My husband had a very good one as well. Payment was extremely easy, even when I split it between a gift certificate and credit card. I definitely recommend this place!
