I've been getting massages here for a few years and they've always been consistently good. The talent they have here is very impressive, especially for the price. In times where I haven't been nearby or my schedule conflicted with open appointment times but I needed a massage I have gone to other places including some chain massage places and I always just wish I would have just waited because I haven't found another clinic that has the quality of massage therapists that Massage Specialists does. This isn't a frou-frou spa so don't expect a lot of extras, like steam rooms or saunas, but this place is clean and no-nonsense. Their focus is on massage. The staff is super friendly and helpful and are really good at giving recommendations, which is nice because they have quite a few therapists with different styles. Most importantly, the therapists I've seen really know their anatomy, they listen to me, and I always feel like the massage is deep enough. If there are ever any issues it is easy to talk to management...and I like that they are local and not a chain. Highly recommend this place!

I had a stubborn neck problem and general tightness, and was fortunate to be able to get 3 treatments from Paul during my vacation in Colorado in Dec/Jan. His use of deep tissue work combined with specific stretching techniques during each session produced lasting results for me. I will book another appointment as soon as I'm back in Boulder. Wow. I left here feeling dazed (in a good way) and light as a feather. I honestly thought I might float away. Drew was excellent at his job. I told him my issues (upper glute/low back/hips) and he gave those areas the attention they truly needed. He clearly understands the human body as well as how to read tension and breathing cues. Price was also excellent. Boulder folks are spoiled! I’d have paid 80-100% more in NYC for similar.

I have seen Tim McGrath for 6-8 massages after having meniscus repair to my right knee. A couple months after surgery, I was still having some pain and had to limit some activities. Also, my left knee was starting to follow the same pattern of pain and inflexibility that lead to surgery on the right side. With Tim's help, the pattern on the left has all but gone away and the right (surgical) knee feels much better. I have so far been able to avoid a second surgery and I AM BACK TO RUNNING UP TO TWO MILES AT A TIME AND CROSS COUNTRY SKIING UP TO 8 MILES at a time! Tim is very experienced, has even been an instructor at a massage school. He knows his anatomy and medical massage very well. ( I am an RN so know some anatomy myself.)

I didn't enjoy my time here. I've had over 30 massages at least in my lifetime and this was def my worst. The front desk guy was really nice however my masseuse didn't even seem like she was there. I felt like she was in another place during the whole massage. The room was pretty cold and very bright. I've never went to a massage place where alot of lighting was encouraged. And the music playing in the room wasn't relaxing music. At one point a remix of Flo Rida's "Good Feeling" was playing. I was very disaapointed. I felt like I got maybe half of my money's worth, if that.

Eli is a life changer! I had just moved to Boulder and my back and neck pain was unbearable. After an incredible massage with her, she sent me home with some post treatment suggestions. She told me I could help my back pain by following the at home stretches for my hips and doing restorative yoga once a week. I've been going to different chiropractors for 5 years. No one had ever mentioned my hips before! Low and behold, a few weeks later my back pain (which I've had for... forever) is 99% better. I haven't needed to go back to the chiropractor, which I normally had to do every few weeks. Eli is incredibly knowledgable and really knows what she's talking about. I can't recommend her enough!

The environment is clean and welcoming. The rooms are quiet and very relaxing. I had Andrey as my last massage specialists and I needed work on my shoulders from previous injuries. He is very knowledgeable and gave a wonderful massage. I have been battling sore shoulder and limited range of motion for year. Andrey really seemed to know what to do and how far to push. He is the first specialist that has made a breakthrough for me with my shoulder pain.

3/10/16 Cold room, inept massage from a rude masseuse, misrepresenting their own price structure. Avoid these jokers. 3/29/16 Follow-up: The manager was kind enough to call me and offer a comp massage. I went in for the massage. I let the masseuse know that I had a wound on my right bicep that was feeling quite tender (I fell in the climbing gym and my arm hit the rope on the way down). She acknowledged that she saw my wound. 40min into the massage she NAILED my wound with full pressure. She apologized, explaining that she was operating in "automatic." I replied "clearly" and walked out. DO NOT PATRON THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Their masseuses are negligent bordering on abusive.

This place is clean, quiet, restorative, and always a healing place for me to experience a massage. My therapist is a gem! He is the only person I've found who can give me a deep massage that really has an impact on my body. I only gave 4 stars because, at $90/hour, it is too pricey for me except as a special treat.
