To say that I’m a little reserved when it comes to things where other people are messing with my body is a huge understatement. I struggle trusting doctors, dentists, & just about any medical professional you can think of. Think about the quality & dedication in which the average person performs their job & now realize that half of them are worse. This is just one of the reasons I have been dead-set on never getting a massage. The others range from knowing the type of granola-munching, crystal loving, hippy freaks that a career “massage therapy” attracts & reruns of “Friends” where we see the massage mis-adventures of Phoebe Buffet. So, yeah...I’m out. Not for me.
Then comes the pain. I’ll spare the you the reader the details of how it arrived, but arrive it did. I had a few friends tell me that massage therapy would really help. I laughed it off & dismissed the suggestion immediately. Then the wife got involved. Knowing well my apprehension, she encouraged (made) me go & scheduled an appointment with Kristie. Reluctantly I went.
And I’m so glad I did. Kristie was very professional & explained everything to me to put me at ease. I didn’t notice or ask where she studied massage therapy, but if I had to guess it’d be the medical school equivalent to Hogwarts, because her hands are MAGIC. It was immediately evident that she has a phenomenal understanding of how the body’s neuromuscular performance works. Seriously, she’s at the top of her profession. Not only did she help with my body’s problem spots, but she told me what causes it & how to avoid having them come back. After getting a 30 minute massage, I was so impressed with her knowledge, work ethic, & results that I immediately scheduled another an hour long appointment. During my last appointment I learned that Alabama Therapeutic Massage has just been voted the Best of the Best massage therapy in Cullman for the 4th year in a row. I’m not surprised one little bit. They deserve it. Take it from a cynical, skeptical person - schedule your appointment now.
