It's dead now. Only 3 stores are open, the rests have been closed down. It's really sad because I used to shop here a lot but now I do all my shopping in Winston or Greensboro.

Sad to see all the stores and shops leaving. Hope the repairs get done and it can remain open. It use to be a great place. It would be nice to see all empty stores full and a new variety of shops.

This use to be a wonderful place to shop. Its sad to walk in and see how the shops have gone. It was a central place to get everything you needed. This use to be the place for seniors and young shared the same hang out. Now you hardly see anyone in the mall.

There are still a couple of local merchants still hanging on but the entire place is in disrepair. There's a Belk, a Hallmark store, a nail salon and a cell phone repair/accessories store. Takes all of 30 seconds to see everything worth seeing. Sad.

This place is pitiful. Wife and me went to Belks and Hallmark. That is the only 2 stores worth visiting....might as well bulldoze it down. The mall is falling apart. Stinks like mildew.

I went to Belk's with a friend. They had a lot of stuff on sale. Some great bargains on the $ 8.74 and under racks, if you could find what you wanted are needed. I couldn't find anything and the things I did want was very expensive. So once again I didn't buy anything. I honestly don't know how Belk's stay in business, too expensive for the average person. They had a lot of sales going on, but still very expensive. The worker's are very friendly and helpful and the store is very clean. Not a lot of people to help you if you were looking for a certain item I will go back, but not sure if I will by anything.

I hope all the renovations are soon done and that the Mayberry Mall will be up in booming again. It's very sad to see it the way that it is now. I can remember when it was such a great place to go and was well maintained. Looking forward to seeing that again soon.

The mall ain't like what I was use to going to in my child hood. There's hardly nothing there anynore. The mall is falling apart. And the mall smell like mildew. It's not worth going to at all .I really hope they fix it and bring more stores in. They use to have some really cool stores rhere.

Wonderful location but lacks tenants. This small town city mall needs new tenants and better marketing. Possibly some updates. If this was marketed properly it would be a great mall. Everyone I've spoken with loves the mall but there's no tenants! Several long time residents keep stating, 'Oh it's still open? I thought it was empty.'

The stores are trying to make a go of it, but the building itself is a shamble. There is still a bath and body works inside, with a Belk on one end and a JCP on the other.

I love this little mall. Always have. Not a big selection of stores, but all the basics are met. Looks like they were doing construction/repairs when I was there. They need to bring in a couple of decent restaurants and maybe a Planet Fitness? I think that would pull customers back in.

I would not visit this establishment. All previous establishments located here, have long since closed down except a few businesses. This place is toxic! It is a well known fact that any detectable level of black mold contamination is an extreme health risk. This establishment is condemn worthy. Any amount of renovation would not be enough for me to fully trust that this establishment is rid of mold. In my opinion, due to the advanced deterioration & lack of upkeep, this establishment should be torn down & possibly a new mall should be built in its place. Obviously visiting this establishment is a risk to your respiratory system siting the extensive level of black mold contamination & just isn't worth the risk of visiting for any reason. All that is left here is the Shoe Department, Republican Headquarters & for anyone that isn't sure... Belk is a completely separate building and isn't contaminated by black mold. The building has been well maintained & is owned by separate individuals unaffiliated with Mayberry Mall.

The Mayberry Mall is way past its prime time. I remember as a kid it seemed as if the mall was thriving and full of life all the time and now you walk through the doors and its like an abandoned wasteland full emptiness and nothing. The only reason i gave it a 2 star rating is because the people in the few stores they have left were very helpful and kind.

The place is basically closed. I am not sure why it isn't legally shut down(just as one of the larger stores inside, K mart, were) I remember a few years ago, every time I went inside on the northern side of the mall, I would duck and look up constantly to make sure part of the ceiling wasnt going to fall in on me. This used to be a nice little hometown mall; if someone would have put a little bit of money into the upkeep it still would be. The last I knew, there were maybe five stores that had not been forced to shut down yet.

This mall is not slowly dying, it's already dead. This mall when you first walk in you'll be overwhelmed by the smell of mold, in several places the roof of this mall leaks and maintenance people that work there use large trash cans to catch the water that seeps through. There's only a handful of stores in this mall now, the areas that are actually occupied by stores are in decent shape but if you go into the mall itself it's like looking into the dystopian future to see what everything else will become.

There are all these grocery shops and restaurants popping up but no where to shop for luxury and personal lifestyle stuff.

I am shocked as to why this mall is still open. By my understanding, part of the mall has been closed due to mold issues. The parking lot is in poor condition. Weeds have overrun the flowerbeds and other areas. Interior of the mall has a large tarp with no entrance signs. Only 2 or 3 stores left in the mall. I would not recommend this place. It is actually saddening to visit.

If not for Belk it would be dead, they also have a Hallmark store and a Shoe Department. The owners of the mall have allowed it to fall into ruins for lack of repairs.the roof leaks in most of the building and all of the stores have closed and left.

I've lived in Mount Airy most of my life and the mall has almost completely deteriorated right before my eyes. Not only is there a lack of diversity in stores, but the mall as a whole is literally falling apart. There's chunks of ceiling missing along with water damage in almost every store. Supposedly, there will be renovations within the coming months but I wouldn't risk going inside.

This is a great place to shop for many different items from childrens, teenager & adult clothing, shoes, cell phone accessories and other things someone might be interested in. Another thing to consider is the fact that the mall is being renovated on the K-Mart end of the building, and there is no more smell of mold and mildew when you enter the mall. People are still going up there to walk and get exercise, and also to sit and relax. So please shop at this mall again if it's been a while and bring a friend or other family members.

No real selection of stores and do not go in there for your own health. The owners that live in NY won't pay for maintenance on the building and have allowed the roof to leak everywhere for years. It finally collapsed party and has left a horrible mold smell in half the mall. The city won't condemn it and won't put up any signs to warn people. Their bathroom doors are pathetic, dirty and the doors to the stalls Don't lock. The parking lot should have been re- paved years ago, pot holes everywhere and one business Kmart was force to move out over the roof and the owners refusal to repair the roof. Don't waste your time or gas going there and unless you have a death wish or deep pockets, don't ask about renting what's open to businesses.

This mall needs a lot of work due to the condition of the roof. There are only a few stores left. There isn't any food places to eat at in the entire mall. It's very sad that the mall is such bad shape. This town needs a decent mall. I'm confident that if it's fixed up it will be a busy mall.
