Oakwood is NOT family friendly!!! Young black juveniles and adults walk around with the bare bottoms showing and/or their underwear showing and use every type of perverse language. The tables in the food court were filthy, crumbs, paper, condiment residue.

I'm not too crazy about Oakwood Shopping Center. I do go there to there eyeglass store to get my contacts and glasses. I have never had a problem there and the staff is very good. I have found that the safety in the parking area is not very secure. I would not go there at night. But next to the Oakwood Center is a Dollar Tree, and I go there quite often. They do have their own parking lot and are closer 2 the expressway.

Great visit here. I came down here for some shopping and got extra. My daughter and her friends really enjoyed the mall. I would definitely drive back here again. It was worth the drive from GA. Forever 21 and Bath and Body Works are my favorite stores lol. Very friendly people here.

Small but has what you need. Good for kids and family. Has cafes and food court. Parking is free and available. Kid-friendly and handicap-friendly. JCPenney, H&M and other brands are there. The design of the mall is great and sunshine enters through windows on the ceiling.

I recently went to this mall to buy some tennis for my 1 yr old. Parking wasn't a problem, I had options regarding the shoe stores to choose from which enabled me to shop around. I also like the options provided within the food court and New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood is right next to the mall as well. Im satisfied with this edifice.

I truly believe there should be an option for minus 5 stars, which I`ll go for right away. We live a few minutes away from the mall and when the weather is bad and the kids can`t play in our backyard or the pool we go there shopping and for the playground. 9 times out of 10 the play area is closed for no reason or if there are 8-10 kids playing security guard will pop up from somewhere and close it down or explain how the kids should be careful playing, not jumping or running. This is a PLAYGROUND, not a LIBRARY and they supposed to know that, the parents are responsible for their kids and how they act. The same thing happen again today playground was open and as soon as my two sons and two other kids that we don`t know walk in and take their shoes off the security pop up from somewhere and close the playground leaving 4 kids crying with no explanation why they should close it at right this moment. They suppose to fix this and keep it open during the hours of operation of the mall or have specified hours of operation for it listed somewhere or just shut it down for good, since they can`t manage it. Most of the kids who was there was playing in the rest areas jumping and running around the sofas, maybe this works better... Really disappointing, will never go there again, better spend few more minutes to cross the bridge and visit River Walk!

This trip was to treat a buddy of mine to his birthday lunch at 'New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood'. Our server was friendly and attentive. I ordered the seafood platter with shrimp and catfish. Instead of getting popcorn shrimp and thin fried catfish... I got the regular sized shrimp and thick catfish. It was great. Rounded off by cole slaw, garlic butter french fries and buttered french bread... so good. I even told our server that it was better than I expected. Of course, every meal there ends with a FREE soft-serve ice cream cone. Nice! I have always enjoyed my meals at 'New Orleans Hamburger and Seafood'.

Closest 'real' mall to the house. Hopefully when the Sears anchor store eventually goes, maybe Kohl's will go in. It's a Penney's on another corner so it's a coin toss about the mall's health. Dick's sporting goods on another corner sees some business. It's still a cool stroll through the whole place, and always a great way to catch up on the latest styles, in the stores and on the shoppers.

Oakwood definitely would benefit from adding more shops. It's mostly a food court attached to the larger department stores like Dillard's. I love Ulta! Wish they had a theater tho. I remember when malls had hood stores in them! Like wig shops, grill Jewelers, 99¢ stores, and dollar movies.. what happened? I feel like malls need help with accounting or something because the rents are too high to accommodate smaller businesses.. and that just sucks.

This mall is good for the locals and for getting shopping done If you are visiting from another place and you want to see the fun of the malls this ain't it There isnt many side activities like lakeside has (meaning they have a few more stores and more to see) Doesnt have a gamestop's and a few stores have closed down like earthbound And Famouswok or whatever that asian place by Canes got me and my friends sick And we spent a day taking turns throwing up, that was a while but I dont recommend eating there but that's just me
