We have the opinions of people who have information of the services of Valley West Mall (Mall) in Iowa.
At the moment this firm has a score of 4.1 stars over 5 and this rating was based on 2606 reviews.
As you can see the average of ratings is quite high, and it's founded on a very large number of reviews, so we may say that the valuation is quite reliable. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they are happy, is that it works.
You know that we don't usually stop to place tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Mall corresponds to the category of Shopping mall.
It's too bad the malls seem to be closing down. More and more shops in this one are empty. Still get out and walk around and window shop. Kids love to ride the train and go to the play area.
It makes me sad that since Yonkers left, so many stores had to close. Play area is great still
I am sad to see most of the stores had closed or mover to Jordan Creek. Such a shame because this was my favorite go-to mall. I hate going to Jordan Creek. I wish more stores would open up at Valley West Mall. It is convenient and closer and not as high priced as Jordan Creek
It was good for shopping but the food court had only three options
Nice quiet mall. Many closed stores
Valley west mall..once the highlight of desmoines shopping is losing stores and needs an uplift. Always enjoyed shopping there, but most of the anchor stores are gone. Hopefully can be restored to its original glory.
I really do not like it here. I grew up going to this mall. The stores are not what people are wanting anymore. We ocassionally go to Eddie Bauer or Chocolate Stam but that is about it. Valley West Mall needs something different. People are not drawn to this place. People go to Jordan Creek to hang out or Shop. People go to Merle Hay to go to Flix. Online shopping has killed the malls.
Great shops for everyone
Really like this mall. Hope it doesnt turn into condos.
Mainly go here for Champs now. Still miss Younkers :(
Mall is fine, just in need of more stores, very empty. But with everything being online it will be difficult to fill the space
The stores I like are close together- JC Penney, Victoria ' s Secret, Fit To Be Tied, and Chocolatery.
Go here to waste time to be honest. Fun place to hang out and waste time.
I have always loved this place. Sad to see it slowly going away. Great place to walk. Deserted.
Very quiet. Haven't been in a long time, so was surprised how many stores have closed and left the mall half abandoned
Disappointed so many stores have gone out of business or moved out of mall. Only half full or less now.
I like Valley West because it is easy to get in and out, but over the years it has started deteriorating. Many of the stores have left now and sit empty. This is not their fault, but something to know as it doesn't have nearly as many stores as it used to. I still like going here for my favorite pedicure place, Blaze Pizza Co., and the occasional chocolate stop or JC Penny trip.
Went to drop off clothes at Kim's tailor. Best tailor in Des Moines. On the way out stopped by Stam's chocolatory and got some gelato and a bonbon. Ah great day.
The bgg buckle here has amazing selection compared to most
Older mall in the area . Rustic looks . Not many options for clothing and food
Des Moines has some great people
Amazing place just hope that you guys don't run out of business because most of the shops are closed, you guys should add more shops like a Yonkers v.2 or something like that. There was barely anybody at the play area so my cousins had nobody to play with. But everything else is fine
This mall like most others looks like it is wasting away. Empty store fronts and a dark interior. Sad to see.
Very nice well kept Mall, lots of retail selection
OK mall, used to Jordon Creek so this was a bit older, still had nice stores in it. Parking was a bit crazy the way the cars park, but all the people were nice that worked there
It's quiet there so it's a good place to study or work on school work. They have good food places. It's a good place to be when your not in the mindset to be around people.
Valley West is my personal preference for shopping. I'm not at all a fan of the overwhelming crowds at Jordan Creek. With similar stores, and less people, I like it here.
Disappointing . It has degraded significant and the number of empty stores is shocking .
Nice variety of stores and plenty of parking - even a parking garage if the weather is bad.
Very nice mall. Would recommend to anyone
A nice, decent and clean shopping Center. It's generally not crowded, but the big-name stores are limited at this particular Mall.
It's a good mall but could use more of a variety of stores.
Love this mall not too big nor over crowded and has great stores!!!
This is a mall without all of its anchor stores, and several more missing stores inside.
I hadn't been here in years and I'm so glad we stopped. First, they have a Boot Barn. Lots of great stores and we didn't have to deal with a ridiculous crowd. We'll be visiting again for sure
We went here today and it was depressing. There are so many vacant store fronts!! I can't believe the mall is still open. I don't know how they can stay open with so much empty spaces! I remember when this place was packed with shoppers.
Too dull for my style barely found a few shirts at Footlocker the only store i enjoyed of em all
Another place our granddaughter enjoys playing at..
My last shopping trip to Younkers. Bittersweet. It's been my go-to-store for as long as I can remember. Got some really good deals on shoes and purses. The end of an Iowa institution.
I’m always here shopping and taking my lunches.
Excellent SHOPPING EXPERIENCE, NEW EATING ESTABLISHMENT S,NEW RETAIL STORES, IT HAS IMPROVED SINCE STORES WENT TO JORDAN CREEK WITHOUT THE POLICE HARASSMENT IN WEST DES MOINES, VALLEY WEST IS MAKING A COMEBACK. PLEASE GIVE THEM A CHANCE, A KIND NEIGHBORHOOD 35TH AND UNIVERSITY.
Valley West Mall is a pretty good Mall, especially for its size. It is easy to navigate and find the stores that you are looking for, making it a good alternative to Jordan Creek Mall if you don't want to spend all day inside of the mall. It is struggling to keep tenants though as there is a lot of empty Mall space, but they are at least doing a better job then malls like Merle Hay Mall at providing some decent food and beverage options to give people another reason than just shopping to go here.
Im not sure the exact reason why, although I suspect it's due to the giant Jordan Creek mall not far away, but this mall is going down. Many store fronts empty, favorites gone.
Mom loves Van Maur
Needs to get things figured out. Too many empty stores. Needs something to get people excited again. Mall itself in great shape. Very clean.
Love this upscale mall.
It's definitely not what it used to be. There's hardly anything there at all and hasn't been for a while. Don't waste your time.
Love this mall. Wish there was more foot traffic.
Pretty decent stores and food court. Has play place for little ones!! Two story's...good variety.pretty calm during the week...busier fri and sat.
Older mall that has aged well, and had kept it's anchors
I love fit to be tied! Amazing service and customer satisfaction!
Went to pick up an order at Penney's. Did not go into the mall.
Valley West has always been a good mall. Younkers has recently closed leaving one anchor end empty. The mall looks bleak without the store, but there are still plenty of other stores open. It's so hard to believe our best department store is closed after so many years.
Historically Valley West was the go to mall in Des Moines. So easy to get to, right off the interstate, tons of shops, several anchor stores, a lovely Hallmark. But its suffering like so many retailers from internet shopping. With the closing of the huge Younkers, several smaller stores have moved on so its future may be in doubt
Older. Getting better with age!
Decent little Mall. Good deals can be found
Indoor mall with larger department stores and small shops. Great place to take kids. But several empty spaces.
Out of town, had fun with the fam..
Sad for what was once the premier mall. It is half empty. I only go there for Stam chocolate.
This place is sad there’s nowhere really to shop and they just need to shut the whole mall down
It's a nice clean mall with plenty of stores to choose from it handy cap excessable free parking with security there to help you if needed all the stores.have friendly staff will to help you .
This was my favorite mall but nearly all the food options have disappeared. I'd definitely recommend going to the deli in the food court the sandwiches are amazing. A lot of stores closed too. Sad to see a place I loved turn into another empty mall.
The mall had great area for the kids to play, clean restrooms, excellent food. Some shops closed but still be worth shopping here. Will definitely come back to shop Des Moines next month before school starts.
5 stars because they have Spirit Halloween this year and it made my son's 5th birthday today the best
I came at 9 am and the shops were still closed till 10 am while the Mall was already open and I was really surprised how many people were already there just walking inside of mall. They were exercising
Better than Merle hay
Nice mix of retail and food.
Great place to shop, and get in your daily walks.
A mall in death throes.
Good parking, Good food court, cleaned, malty, nice , good security, femus brand, good for children, good for family, ....
Seems like malls are getting to be a thing of the past. But I still enjoy a good mall and this is a nice one.
Nothing to see there. How is that mall still in business? Went to two stores and the employees were so not interested in selling anything, didn't even greet anyone.
Very nice and clean mall. Food courts had amazing choices.
Not so busy and perfect for the colder winter months for walking.
I liked the stores and restaurants. It was great becayit wasn't mobbed with people so I could shop a d browse comfortably. I only went to a couple of places, but the prices were reasonable I thought.
Nice shopping area. Great prices. Good variety of stores.
I work at Blaze Pizza and every department store is nice and friendly and very welcoming.
overall the small is a good sized mall and it's staff and cleanliness is great. I know Jordan Creek not too far away some people prefer that place. Valley West does have more unique shops which I think helps make this a great place to find something interesting.
Decreasing number of anchor stores. Rest of stores clean, Von Maur &JC Penny last anchors. Cj Banks, Victoria Secrets and other stores, restaurants still available
Nice mall, lots of stores, speciality and big name stores, plenty of parking
Its always getting cleaned, every employee for the most part are very friendly. Overall between the shops, attractions and cleanliness I prefer this mall over others in Des Moines.
My wife and daughter visited this place an said they had a great, great time.
Nice place to shop
Enjoyed shopping at Kohls and eating at the food court
Always enjoy visiting the mall. Bright, clean restrooms, clean carpeting, however was astonished by the number of empty stores!
Nice spaces and open places. Does a brisk lunchtime business between three major food venues. There have to be more diamond and jewelry stores here than any other mall I've seen recently. This with a mix of a few clothing stores, still make this a viable shopping destination. Like most malls though, there are a lot of closed or unoccupied spaces. Make sure you give the mall walkers a wide bearth!
It is a "welcoming" place, but unfortunately several stores closed.
Gem of a place that I wasn't aware of for a long long time. Not so crowded like Jordan Creek.
I like this place I known that some malls are closing shop but this is a true nice place high end , some shops have closed but nice place.
I only shop at Penneys. Great sales.
So sad to see a lot of empty spots. Hopefully not another southridge situation.
The stores need to be updated, and more stores should open up.
You looking for good deals that was my best experience
Its a mall. It has stores. Not the biggest of malls. Well placed in West Des Moines.
Thank you for welcoming Life Serve Blood Drive today♥️♥️
This place has turned into a laughing stock. No traffic.. no stores.. no where to eat.. when i came in this morning they didnt even have the parking lot plowed. They plowman yelled at me to get out of the way so he could finish his job. Terrible customer service all the way around. They have to do something about this place or it will no longer be around. Id quite honestly rather go to Southridge and Merle Hay. Word is the mall manager is the same that drove the Southridge mall into the ground so that explains everything.
The only shopping center we shop at.
It's sad that its losing most of there stores
Decent mall, good selection but needs a little TLC
Lots of options and fun to explore
Needs more stores if you want more business
This place is dying slowly, there is bearlyany stores in there ,
Mall is dying. I come here only for Stams.
It’s a decent mall.
Went there specifically to have a Maid-Rite. Best one I've had in years!
It's a nice clean mall with some excellent specialty shops and your big box stores on the ends but I believe it is going the way of all malls. An awful lot of empty spaces. If you want this gem of a shopping experience around much longer get out from behind your screen and go shop. Laziness is killing our shopping malls. Everybody shops fron home now because they don't get any time away from the computer. It convenient to just point and click and have it delivered to the front door. Thsts how I see it. So stretch the legs once in a while and go shop!!!!
I spent most of my time in JCPenney but the mall was nice I wish there were more stores as there are several empty spots,
Good shopping stores the mall is in pretty good condition
Seems like it's not as busy as Jordan creek mall. Which makes for a good place to go walking. Shopping stores are okay. My favorite is the boot bard by far!
Sadly it might be a dying mall with empty shops but, I'm not a fan of Jordan's creek mall... This place is a little gem. I hope it gets new life!
Great mall. Love the play place, but wish it had better visability. It wraps around an escalator on the southern side and leaves only a few spots for parents where they can have a full view.
Big enough to give me the mall experience needed without being exhausted.
Nice mall. Clean and well maintained. As with many other malls the empty stores are on the rise.
Nice mall, sad to see so many empty stores. This place has been a favorite place to walk, people watch, shop or grab a bite to eat. Needs some TLC.
Good shopping mall with most things you would ever want.
Many storefronts are empty and not much here any more.
The layout and design are excellent; a joy to walk around. Store placement and locations are perfect for shoppers. Has a warm and inviting atmosphere.
A few closed stores but several good ones still there. Very clean mall.
Like to walk there. Wish so many of the stores weren't closing tho.
Fond memories of this mall in its hay day. Mall has two anchor stores left JcPenney and Von Maur. Rumor has it Von Maur will leave soon to take up residence at Jordan Creek town centers former Younkers space . I feel like this Mall is dying like many across the country sadly.
Used to be the best mall around but needs something to make it a must go to place now.
Thank goodness for jcpenneys..
I only went into Von Maur, and it was sure nice!!
Outside of Jordan Creek this is, in my opinion, the best mall in the area. In fact unless it doesn't have a particular store I need, I almost exclusively go there since the traffic is much more manageable. My only criticism would be that they need to focus more on the food court. There aren't many options left and the smaller places to get drinks or snacks throughout the mall are slowly disappearing. Other than that it's a clean mall with a good selection of stores. A bit of a throwback to the 80's, but in a good way and the stores are contemporary.
Great place for families!! Friendly staff.
Good stores. Typical mall. No Younkers anymore but still has JCPennys & Von Maur for department stores. The food area downstairs is almost a ghost town.
It is a good mall however a lot of the stores are closing. Hopefully that changes
What a ancient ruin, urban sprawl definitely left this mall behind like a large pile of poo. It's a "has been" shopping center. Shop local let this dinosaur die already
Valley West Mall may not be as big as Jordan Creek, it has a bit of a smaller food court, but I like it very much. Parking usually isn't an issue (unless is it's near a major holiday, but that goes with any store.), it's always so clean and well kept. plus the location is very convenient, being right across from HyVee and Target, it's smack in the middle of a lot of stores making it a breeze to stop by and pick up a gift or something you need while running errands. I'm anxious to see what will go in Younkers area since they went out of business.
From Bus Stop Walked In Mall + Jus Went 2 Blaze Pizza + Left Mall Back 2 Bus Stop
Nice mall. Lots of parking. Love JCPENNEY'S!!!
Still like this mall. You can get Crocs at fit to be tied. They have rides on a little train in bottom lobby for Easter and Christmas for the kids. They have a nice play area for LITTLE kids on bottom level on south end by exculators.
There trying to keep it open. Struggling but still good shopping. Go here at least once a month and they have a good big n tall store selections
Great place to go walking and enjoy people watching.
Great mall conveniently located right off of I-235
Great mall love the stores and atmosphere.and the seat in islovely
This mall has improved tremendously in the past few years! I’m hoping they can stay afloat now that younkers is gone.
Nice mall with a wide variety of stores available to look through.
Escalator is down in sw side. Have to use elavator. Also the kids cars ate our change. But very clean environment other than that.
I wished there more places open
Very friendly and I love their food
Nice clean place with a variety of stores!! Love how it is set up so you can see every store while walking around
Lots of empty space.
Once again went to get my eyebrows done at amg.....im going elsewhere . if your not happy at your job its not my fault ...please find another place of employment!! Im one of the reasons your employer has an open business
Fun place to check out & shop away
It would be nice to see all the store fronts full again. I liked the Christmas decorations. I like shopping the stores, I don't do much on-line shopping.
Nice mall.
Love this mall. Not overly crowded. And they do so much for families.
