This Mall corresponds to the category of Shopping mall.
Found my son's graduation attire there @ Rainbow!
I haven’t had or witnessed any incidents at this mall . However I’ve herd of a few disruptions in the parking lot . During my visit always clean environment. Plenty of security that’s visual . Family friendly environment. Stores reasonable price.
Get your air conditioner fixed! So hot almost passed out!
Revamped and BEAUTIFUL! They had superheroes running around and taking pics w kids for free the last time I went. I appreciate this mall more than ever after being a regular for 33 years. Music cleanliness carpeted. Why it's in the middle of this city is beyond me lol but none the less I appreciate it.
Very different atmosphere now. Kind of nice
It's getting too empty. Ford City is not like the way it used to be. Managable
I don't know where to start about this mall. I moved here from Brooklyn recently and I don't know absolutely anything about Chicago. Found a bouncy house in this mall. From the moment we parked the car, to walking in and looking at the stores. We wanted to leave before we even got to the bouncy house. I come from a nice diverse neighborhood in Brooklyn and this place is absolutely runned down. I had people staring at me from head to toe because I obviously was in the wrong neck of the woods. Don't let my look fool you, I'm very well dressed and brand named everything. But I will slap someone if I need to. People not welcoming at all. About 5 stores open. No brands besides H&M. More boutique style. Never ever again in my life. Stay away. Unless u looking to fight someone then go to this mall (not even a mall) more security guards than there is people
not my fav mall. But the theater is nice and clean if minimal staff. Great for mid day activity not sure id go at night
IT HAS CHANGED A WHOLE LOT SINCE I WAS THERE A FEW YEARS AGO
found exactly what I was looking for
It's clean, courteous. It's practically a ghost town. Solution? Offer events to entice consumers
This is is alright. I just recently moved to Chicago. The mall seems like they have lost some store but still a good place to go.
I'd gone to JC Penny to pick up an online order for the first time. It was sort of difficult to find the online pick-up counter the signs are misleading. I asked an employee by the name of Christian who actually walked me over to pick up! Employees with Exceptional Customer Service Skills like Christian are far and few inbetween finding! Hats Off to Christian!! He makes JC Penny look Absolutely Amazing!!!
Well that's good fun, walking around with family and friends
Found the right pants for work on sale at JCPenney
No ac on a hot day made my shopping experience horrible.
Sadly, many stores have left or closed shop. Montgomery Wards was there, Sears, Carson Pierre Scott. JCPenney is holding on by a a thread. I remember in the early 90's this place was full of life. It felt like the soul of the mall is no longer there.
No good shop beside JC Pennys
I previously enjoyed this mall but no more, too run down
Young crowd of people have taken over this mail, I used to love going there, the last two times I went security was chasing some young kids that was that did something in the mail. I feel like you have to look over your shoulders now. I only go when I have to, when they first open up. I used to love that mall.
Decent mall. Definitely not as bad as it used to be . But it's most likely shutting down soon do to decrease in customers + stores
My firsr time back in this mall. I definitely will not come back
The place is almost empty. The air conditioning is only on in certain sections of the mall. I felt awful, very warm as I was going to different stores.
I really don't need to explain
Ford city got a face lift or something the inside of the mall is completely remodeled.. What?!? I was shocked that it looked that good. There’s a great selection of stores plenty of security walking around. It has a different vibe altogether than I remember.
This is the greatest place to hangout and shop with friends and family. This is my favorite mall to come to.
Walk around and enjoy going to many stores
This place has gone downhill. I'm not sure how it's even still open! Half of the mall is empty. Most of the open stores are sandwiched between closed ones. The neighborhood and people who come to this mall are probably to blame. The IHOP and McDonald's that were inside this mall closed up and moved out of it. The only thing this mall is good for would be shoes. There's probably like 10 different places to could find shoes at (Foot Lockers, Champs, Jimmy Jazz, etc.)
Went to the AMC theaters today the movie was good the theater was clean bathrooms were clean very good outing....
Shopping options limited and shopping options that are present aren't properly stocked. Facility needs renovation.
Ford city used to be a great place to shop. There was Carson and jc Penney as the main stores. It's close to my house and if I just want ho pick up something quickly, I'll go there.
I shop in several stores and shops. Always pleasant
This mall is disgusting. It was our first and last time here and we were here 1 whole hour before we left. We went to three different bathrooms and they all smelled awful and were unclean. At first we were liking it but then the smell was just intolerable. The jcpenney here is very nice and bigger than others in the Chicagoland area and also very well stocked.
This has been my stomping grounds for years. They have it all and my shopping experiences here like a Minnie getaway. Prices, food court (yummy), atmosphere - cozy/warm. Love it here!
This mall has changed drastically but its still a good place to shop.
Not a bad place nice and low-key, also pretty clean
Easy on and off Cicero Ave. Great stopover when picking up someone at Midway
I love them all I love Ashley Stewart Bath & Body Works JCPenney's it's always clean even though restrooms
Like it's loosing interest, but good stores
Totally disgusting! Dirty, not pleasant. Don't go there.
Change so much looks good in there
I wish they had an FYE
Good food in the foot court wish they had hot topic or Spencers
Having been out to Ford City any a while it was nice.
Great place to get mugged or shot at after.dark.
I enjoyed myself while I was there.
Its a Mall... On the Southwest Side... That used to be its heyday a busy place... Now seems to be just a place to go. Love the AMC theater, however. But, hell even the theater didnt want to wants to be connected ;) I can see the physical Mall closing and the open air Mall in its place... Like Evergreen Wisely did. No body wants to be enclosed in a space anymore.
I love the mall and amc
Good place to grab something quick.
I remember being here With family there used to be a arcade and GameStop but when it closed I really din’t wan’t to go but later they close sears and we never saw it ever again but a few days ago I wen’t and it look like a ghost town silent no talking it gave you weird feel in you spine I got to get out of here the only thing I bought clothes because they have a h.m so it was 4:20 I heard it gets flooded with criminals so I hurry up and got to car fast I ran and then I drove back home I know this is about be abandoned but i think it should
JCPENNEY was clean and well stock. The employee was knowledgeable and quick. It was a pleasant experience.
Seems like the stores are getting less and less but I will always love that bath and body works
I like the ambiance
Walk around, shop, get a bit to eat , let tbe kid's play. Nice experience.
Still has most of the stores from my childhood in and near it. It contains a pretty large and helpful selection of stores, especially the five-below near here
I remember coming here as a little boy and a teenager, and having so much fun. I came here today, and it felt dead, I wanted to walk around and explore the mall but there's not much to do so disappointed
Great place to bring kids and eat. Also an amc theatre is just like 50feet away
Haven't been there in YEARS and many things changed. More security for sure to keep ghetto people under control. But nothing too exciting. Rather go to Chicago Ridge Mall but even that place is getting what Ford City is suffering from.
The changes they are making as far as new stores and updates is great and needed.
Not clean I have visited this mall early in the morning when it opens and it has been garbage on the mall floors & I heard the don't have security driving around the mall either. This Ford City Mall had really changed in the pass 5 years☹️
Love it, varieties of stores to choose from. Shop shop
Lot of little stores nice place to shop
Apparently, the mall is having issues with the HVAC. It was as hot and balmy as a sauna!
place really cleaned up! but they need more stores and food-court options.
Very lonely mall, only come here when I need a last minute gift or even get my eyebrows done. Food court seems a little creepy to me. Bathrooms are always dirty.
Famous Footwear was great but there's not a lot of stores open for business
The mall is family friendly. It has a food court and a variety of stores for everyone in the family. It's clean and decorated for the holidays. It is not a busy mall which can be good because then you get all the deals and sales.
Went to the theater to see Aladdin. Love the reclining seats. So comfortable. Just like being at home.
Ashro store is the reason I Love this Mall.
Its ford city ,not what it use to be ,all the big stores that were there are gone, not to many left, place needs a boost from somewhere or someone. Sad to see it become like it is .
The mall has a fair number of stores, but it clearly is not what it used to be. The food court are mostly local fare, and the stores are a mix of the same. No large crowds, easy to pop in and out.
This Mall Is So Much Better Than It Use To Be And Security Is Definitely Attentive & Make You Feel Safe & Secure (Because They’re Focused & Watching EVERYTHING). It’s So Quiet & Clean As Well.
Pretty small in actuality. Unlike Chinatown, you don't get that vibe of finding cool unique things or good deals because some places are a bit trashy and the others just too expensive to get anything. We arrived at 12pm on a Saturday, some stores were still setting up and hadn't opened yet! More to do around/outside the plaza, like the Japanese American National Museum.
Nice little mall with some good stores
Nice shopping experience.....kind of quiet when I went. All different kinds of stores to shop in......nice variety and reasonable prices depending on where you shop...I shopped at JCP, Body & Bath Works and BZ Toys Zone. I really enjoyed my shopping exoerience........professionals.
I had some spare time after watching a movie at Ford City AMC 14, so I dropped in to see what Ford City Mall was all about. The word on the street is that this mall used to be the spot back in the day, but from the looks of it, it isn't what it used to be. I believe that saying this mall "still is outstanding" is totally an over statement because there is nothing outstanding about it other than the history of it. And I do believe it has stores that should not be part of it due to sales being pricey, or at least prices should be adjusted. I have mentioned this a few times to my colleagues, but I believe that malls should get with the program. There needs to be positions inner mall that allow clerks to sale on online websites like Amazon and eBay to keep sales going. There could even be an incentive by giving a certain percentage off if you visit the mall, but that is just a recommendation from someone like myself that shops online. Out of the stores and restaurants inside, the ones that caught my eye were Customized Teez, The Modern Man, The Shop, Relax Center, Foot Locker, New Cajun Grill, Fruit God, and Smokehouse. As for 'Customized Teez', it had the cutest t-shirts that made me giggle. If you are into cute t-shirts relating to today's culture with funny captions, I recommend stopping in. At 'The Modern Man', I fell in love with the dress shoes and many of the flashy looking dress suits which came in velvet and sequin, but many of the items were totally out of my price range. I cannot remember the last time I purchased from a 'Foot Locker' store, but every now and then I like to stop in to view the lackluster selection of running shoes it has which nothings changed. As for 'The Shop', other than taking interest in the 'Dropout Bear' t-shirts (Kanye West trademark), I took an interest in a flight jacket inside of this store. I would say that 'The Shop' would be the only store I would shop at other than H&M. And finally, the last thing to catch my eye was the 'Relax Center' which is your place to get a traditional Chinese massage with prices ranging from $12 to $80 depending on your selection. During this visit I wanted to tour its basement which is known as "the connection" (Originally called Peacock Alley from the late 1970s through the 1980s), but being that there was not much activity in it I left it alone. The mall itself is beautiful considering that it has been around since 1965, and one of the first regional malls built in Chicago, but I personally believe that it is far from being salvaged. Despite its decline, it does have significance to those that live in the surrounding area, or those that have visited it in its prime, but I have to say that the only reason I would return at the moment would be to get a Chinese massage at the Relax Center, or to purchase a cute t-shirt from Customized Teez. Now, if I were a teenager, this mall would be the best thing since sliced bread, but since I'am in my late-thirties I will pass. Thomas G
Convenient shopping mall with easy access on transportation.
It's lost its yester year status. Once was great, now has fallen hard. Lacks stores and the people attraction. Might as well go to Chicago Ridge Mall in Oak Lawn, IL.
Been coming here for years and there is one young lady that does my eyebrows so well
We found everything we needed for my little sisters becoming. I was definitely satisfied!!!
Mall has some stores but not many left. There seemed to be more empty stores than operating stores. Same with the food court. JC Penney was well stocked and had a good selection of clothing and shoes.
I actually went to the movie theater there I love the new seating.
I grew up going to this mall. Great stores!! Great location. Have fun at the show or at the eatery!!
Not much there anymore but a descendant food selection in the food court
I like this mall but it needs more clothing stores but I'll be back.
I wish this mall had the numbers it deserves. I took my daughter to Funflatables and she had a blast! 3hrs for $9 and had we gotten there earlier, we would've stayed longer for no extra charge!
This mall has really changed. I remember coming here as a kid only to come back a car that was all keyed up in the parking lot. This mall had a very bad name for a long time but i see it’s really turned around. It has all your stores of an average mall.. the mall seems very dated compared to other malls but all the current stores. Overall a good experience
Good place to shop
Ok mall.. lots of trouble in afternoon and most ppl in neighborhood will not go there after 5 PM only place to find a few stores I. Area .. so most try to get it done by 2 PM... lots of boutique stores .. need lots of security .. but lots of history tied to midway airport and wwII...
Great place to shop
A fave place of mine since a was young.
Nice and cozy place to shop
Ample parking, still a fairly large mall. It is not how it used to be decades ago, but still a good place to go shopping for most things
Decent experiences there the customers there never fail to be ghetto fabulous tho
Everyone is so friendly! Visited famous footwear, got some vans for a steal and the saleslady was giving all sorts of coupons. Then went to IHOP for a late bite. Our waitress was a complete joy, and the food was great. Definitely one of the nicer IHOPs I've been to. I will return.
It's OK. Not what it used to be. But still has some good shopping stores.
Always a go too spot could use a couple of more stores or some thing to make it more fun
The mall is not what it used to be too many fights do not recommend for the family
They still have the hwat6on, too hot!!!
Love it great customer service!
I like the kids activities and special events, like superhero day. I would like to see kid play area slightly expanded, it's really only for 4yrs and younger. Maybe something for 4-6yr olds.
Love the food here some stores are really pricey though
It was awesome and convenient that i found a pair of boots i needed at the mall.
It's a mall that used to have an Old Country Buffet, a Carson's, a GameStop, and a Sears in the early 2000s. There even used to be a carousel across where Carson's used to be. Fast forward to now, it's mostly vacant and a lot of shops had closed, and you don't see a lot of people shopping there. There used to be an underground part of the mall called The Connection that had small stores and the path lead to where Sears used to be until it closed in 2010. They should consider opening new restaurants to attract more customers.
Avoid at all costs, no customer service, dirty.
A few empty stores but the food court has a nice selection of different foods.
Love love the time of day we went. No crowds. Found what we were looking for quickly. Ate a decent meal. I just felt sorry for the Easter bunny. He was sitting there reading the paper waiting for the kiddies. The Mall was a ghost town @ 1:45pm.
I enjoyed their offers. And enjoyed watching John Wick 3.
Bad place. Never again will I go there
Taken a dive throughout the years to many closing of great stores
Lots of vacancies. Apparently the owners dont care much. Care of flags says alot, all tattered and torn.
Lots of movie theaters at this location. Very clean and pleasant employees.
I haven't been here in years. To my surprise they added carpet to the floor and added a curfew for the young people. I had a nice time
I like this mall and have fond memories of it. It is super huge but not at all at capacity for stores. If it was, they would be as big or bigger than Woodfield. What is there is great though.
It seems like everything shutting down. The stores and restraunts. It's sad. Very empty too.
Simple decent mall. Food court could have more options.
Nice place to shop. Stores on Both sides of the street.
Has gotten better. Love the New additions. Keep it up & Safe.
It's dead most of the time, they have good prices
It's all mall that we all know is slowly dying but I still enjoy going. It isn't like the employees are at fault. I still go because it's in my community and I support my community 100%. I go to the children's place, foot locker, kids foot locker ect. I love it
Its an ok mall but it did improve over the years but love going to the amc theater next to ford city mall.
I was at JCPenneys not enough customer service in too long of lines
Place to relax walk around and enjoy the mall.
This location is no longer at the mall. I didn't hate it, however, I was definitely disappointed!
Really clean and good environment..
Slowly declining...Nasty carpets, Some stores out of date...Just time to give up Ford City. You have ran your course! Bowout gracefully!
I been there a lot of times, is a good place and nice ,very clean washrooms. Big free parking available.
Some new stores but most of the good ones are leaving or left
Great place to visit and shop, or just window shop, around the Holidays.
It’s not the same Ford City I grew up with. It’s now more geared to the neighboring community instead of everyone. Yet, good location to find what you need and food to eat.
This mall has had some drastic makeover and is trying to stay open
When i was young this was the place to hang and meet new people now its just boring really wish someone would trun this place around
I had a great time here! And they always have events
Great place to shop.
My first time there today in abt 20 yrs..brought bck a lot of GREAT MEMORIES..
Nice place,, it has everything you need at one location,, at all reasonable prices..
A lot changed from years but it's it's still one of my favorite Malls
The mall us ok need more food court
Good mall for last minute shopping.
Some of the stores have some excellent sales
It smells gross specially the food court . The shops are not exactly what you expect from a mall and it’s just not a nice place to be
It ain’t what it used to be but still a decent place to come shop real quick if your in the area
Always loyal to my local mall
J.c. Penney's had great sales
It used to be very krauted now it's caind of empty
Being there for a business trip, I went in looking for some gifts for kids. Sorry to state that, but this mall is almost shutdown. I suggest to visit another place if you are looking for shopping.
Great experience finding what I needed and enjoyed the food court.
I love how they are changing this mall, constantly making it better.
Diversity, nice stores and some reasonable prices in a few of the stores. Some of the security staff can use more training in ethics and communication.
Went to the movies here, my fiancee said the sink in the men's room was rapidly running until he went to use it then it refused to turn on. Tell the ghost in the men's room if he wanna diss my man come square up.
Jcpenny has a great sale right now on lady's clothes
Went to Zemsky's to get Dickies school uniforms!
Nice little mall with a good variety of stores. Also a lot of places to choose from in the food court.
Empty in & out like ah Robbery good
I live Ashro and there clothing designs would make any women feel Regal
Great place to find trouble.
Good selection all the way around
I grew up here. It has changed as all things do but this place has been unfairly abandoned by investors and stores. The location is great and full of opportunity! Great for family and friends with plenty of shops! The food court is awesome and unique. If things were updated and expanded then I believe more people would go! There are still plenty of shops!
