A couple of weeks ago I brought in a 1965 Ford Mustang to have a key made or to remove the ignition to replace it since we didn't have a key for it. After waiting a couple of hours later, the Harvey's employee said "Don't every bring the car back again." He then said he looked at it and couldn't make a key. If I wanted him to do anything else it would cost $65 per hour plus materials. He then charged me $65 plus tax for basically looking at the car for maybe five minutes. I took it to my mechanic who had it removed in a half hour and charged $25. Enough said about customer satisfaction.

Worst customer service Ive ran into ever the representitve Bruce Dedic kept changing price as we discussing costs then when I confronted him he acted like he didn't realize he was even doing it. It all just seemed like a scam. Stay clear

Locked the keys in the truck with an animal inside so Uber important to get it opened quickly. The tech showed quickly and opened the truck which met my needs but my only ding if any was courtesy. I had the impression I was inconveniencing him paying $52 to save our cat. Appreciate the quick response but not the attitude. I will use Harvey again because I still believe they are the best at the business. Thank you.

I contacted Harvey's with an out-of-the-norm request. I was having a vehicle towed for a deployed serviceman and attempting to coordinate having a duplicate key made. Everyone in the equation, from the towing company to the auto repair facility understood about the difficulties facing our deployed military personnel. Well...everyone except Harvey's. I was told that a power of attorney would need to be obtained (from 5,000 miles away - yeah, right), have a copy of the registration and the VIN number. As if that weren't enough hoops for this military mom to jump through, from several states away, my serviceman would have to provide written authorization and a photo ID in order for them to complete the job (again, from 5,000 miles away). Needless to say, Harvey did not get my business. I was disappointed, not only for the apathetic attitude towards the (admittedly unusual) situation but the disrespect shown to someone who loaned their child to the USAF and was attempting to help from several states away, to the indifference of the sacrifice of that child, in order for the Harvey's employee to sit and answer the phone in the safety and security of that office. It was an opportunity for Harvey's to step up, step out of the comfort of legalities and do something great for someone who makes America great - one of the thousands of active duty military personnel. I am happy to say that the situation was resolved when the local car dealership made the keys, no questions asked. All along the way I was given the words "Thank him for his service", bringing me to my knees. Well, thank you Harvey's Lock for your (lack of) service...

I left my car running because the dog was inside, but couldn’t unlock the door when I got back. Jeff was there in 15 minutes and had me in my car in less than 5 minutes from when he arrived. Jeff was nice, personable and professional. Hope I never have to use this service again, but if I ever do, I know who I’m calling.

This place is a joke...I lost the keys to my car and called to see what it would cost for a new one...was quoted a price of a little over $200 all said and done which I thought was awesome due to the fact mazda quoted me over double that...I wasn't ready to purchase one that day as I wanted to look around a little more. So a few days later I called again to place the order was then told it would be at least $400 if everything worked out...was a little upset the price changed but I understand people make mistakes...I get it. I didn't place the order at that time due to the fact I could possibly get a key cheaper online and then they would just have to program it. Come to find out the key I need is nearly impossible to get. So once again I call to get it set up and I'm told i need to be there in person to order...okay so I borrow a car load the kid up and head down there and am told it's going to be $509 plus tax...if everything works out...he couldn't guaranty I would be able to for sure drive my car after paying over $500. Come to find out after going to mazda my car requires two keys in order for it to program correctly...never once did Harvey's say anything about this...wondering if that's where the "if everything works" comes in. What if I would of went thru Harvey's paid $500 it didn't work they realize another key is needed would I of had to pay another $500???? Not to mention the guy at the counter was a total jerk....so glad I did my research and didn't just order a key the first time I called...who knows how much I would of paid and how long it would of taken them to replace my key...if they even could.

By in far one of the best lick shops I've ever dealt with. Every person I have done business at Harvey's has been above and beyond great. They all seem to know the business very well and if they don't they know how to find the answers. I bought close to 30 or more keys locks etc. and not had a single issue. Harvey's may charge a dollar or 2 more on some things, however the quality of the products and services are well worth it.

Harvey's showed up after hours during a cold snap to unlock our van and get my son out. On top of all that they informed me that there was no charge and that it's a standard practice for them to not charge people when they accidentally lock their children in the car. If that doesn't say enough about the people that run this place and the employees that carry it out, I don't know what will. I was expecting them to have an after hours charge + the service. This was an amazing experience in community customer service. Thank you Harvey's!

Locked myself out of my car at 7pm in Hermosa. I called in and he was there about 20 minutes later (nice!). The unlock only took about a minute and I was all set. Only downside: The hefty price tag. This ended up being around $140 after tax, proving my lockout a very costly mistake. There was a surcharge for both being in Hermosa and for calling after hours, which I do understand, believe me. Still, it seemed pretty inflated given that the actual unlock was $12, putting the surcharges at $110ish. Yikes! Even so, the service was friendly and paying with a debit card was a snap. I just suggest you ask for a quote before asking anyone to come out so you don't get receipt shock after your car's unlocked. And, of course, try not to lock yourself out of your car in the first place ;)

The man who answered the phone was very nice and professional, while the guy who came out to unlocked my car would smile back and did not say hello back when i greeted him and when I thanked him. Nothing. As if I did not exist. The only words that he spoke to me was, "Cash, check, or card?" My children noticed and it was unpleasant. Training needed on simple greetings and acknowledgement & appreciation of customers.

I own a repair shop in town. And believe me stay away from harveys. I have done business with them for years. I had a key made to fit a brand new lock cylinder. we install said lock cylinder new key wont turn it but the blank does. so I send an employee down again for them to tell her that they need the original key too. when I call down they tell me that it worked there so we screwed it up. so I had to pay my technician to pull the key lock cylinder and take it down to them to prove that it is the same as what they did. plus I had to pay employee to drive there 3 times. would harveys do that for their mistake nope its on my pocket book.....I would NEVER treat my customers this way

Took a car key to the to be cut their supposed to be the best in town and they told me that my key was aftermarket and they couldn't cut it even though I bought it directly from GM so I don't know how it was aftermarket. They said it kept popping out of there machine. Took the key to Ace hardware and they cut the key no problem what so ever for a 1/3 the price Harvey's was going to charge.

Recently ordered a new key fob for the wife's Chevy Malibu. Let me first of all share that it is BULLSHIT that you cannot just program them on your own, as you could with a little older vehicles (my 2003 GMC). The key fob arrived just fine that we ordered for $20 online. Same model, same ID number etc. Should have probably worked fine. The first part that is just bad business is that 10 minutes worth of work just to see if it would work would cost $40??? Really? And they charge you the fee regardless of if it works or not. 10 minutes. Secondly (and the really shitty part), we were standing outside prepping to pull the vehicle in back as I agreed to go along with just trying it for $40, and I just wanted to verify the new fob had a battery in it (since it was so cheap). The employee takes it from me and pries it open, cool, fine with me. What isn't fine is when the battery contacts are adhered to the case with an adhesive pad and "something is wrong" so he pulls the board out with force enough to tear the solder out and ruin the battery compartment. Now our new fob is useless until I can re-solder it. Then he has the gall to offer us "Oh, well I can get you a GM key fob for $200". Really? You just broke ours without even testing it. Terrible business. And people wonder why no one shops at local stores anymore. No responsibility for breaking a customer's item, AND outrageous fees for simple tasks, regardless of if it even works. All in all, it is BS that newer key fobs can't be programmed by consumers, but your crappy handling of the situation is a big problem. Now we are out money because of your negligence, and your pricing and policies are a joke.

My wife’s car just auto locked when she shut the hatch & her keys and our 2 yr old son were inside. It’s a 90 degree day and she called 911 immediately and found a hammer to break the glass 911 dispatched Harvey’s lock shop to help. They were on site in less then 10 minutes and got her car open quickly with no damage to the vehicle and not even a long enough wait to have an upset kid. They were awesome. And if their quick and professional service wasn’t enough They wouldn’t take a dime from my wife to save our son on a blistering hot day. Wow what an awesome business and a great service to the community. Thank you all!!
