Extremely disappointed. They wanted $215 to change a lock on a storm door. Really? I just called Lowes and they quoted me $199 to buy an identical new replacement DOOR! They still charged me $29 for a service call. What a scam. Probably drive around charging service calls all day because I'm not sure who would pay these prices. Of course they told me the lock on my door was the expensive one. Sure it is.... what a waste. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well, you failed miserably with satisfying this customer. I found another locksmith and they charged me $75 for the same project.

Amazing service from this place, but more specifically from Bar. We were having trouble getting into our car because we lost our keys. Then we were having an electrical issue with our central locking system. He helped us find the exact fuse that was blown and went above and beyond to help us out with it. If it weren't for him our car would still be stuck in a Gas Station parking lot and most likely would have been towed. Thanks to him we know exactly what issue we need to address to get our car back to normal. I highly recommend this place for anyone having trouble with their locks. Just make sure you ask for Bar. He really does amazing work and we can't thank him enough!

Got three keys duplicated. Two didn't work at all, one half worked. The first was a standard house key - 5 cut Schlage. Copy did not work at all. I said that copies of that particular key tend to not work, and asked that they read the bitting (the cut depths) and cut a new key to that bitting. Key cuts are ideally at certain depths (ex: 1mm, 2.5mm, etc) so reading the bitting and cutting it based on that results in a better key than copying the edge mechanically. The employee said that they could read it but it "probably wouldn't be right" and said they would check it with calipers after duplication. The copy did not work at all. The second was for a 2000 Toyota. I didn't have that car with me when I got it cut so I couldn't test it. Not 100% sure that was made from the original key because the car was second hand, but the key that was duplicated worked just fine. The copy did not work at all. The third was for a 2009 Honda. This was a $40 fancy "laser" duplication from the original key. I brought a blank purchased from a Honda dealership. The copy didn't work in the door, but did in the ignition. They tried going over the cut again and spraying oil in the key hole but it didn't help. They said it was probably the blank I brought. The one from Honda.

We got locked out of the apartment last night & called them to try to unlock. Their attitude and prompt timing definitely is 5-stars. The staff who came to us is also very kind. However, a small suggestion would be maybe improve on price transparency. For example, their website didn't have any information about the pricing & they only mentioned it after we called in the second time and asked. Furthermore, we were told the lock cannot be opened because it was a smart lock, which resulted in a service fee. it's understandable because the locksmith drove all the way, but it would be nice to also mention that in the call as a little disclaimer. Lastly, I would suggest the comoany clarify with the person their lock type beforehand. I know it might be challenging to know exactly what kind of lock it is, but at least our situation, the lock had a little hole next to the actual key hole (which was how the locksmith identify it can not be unlocked). that can be easily identify by the tenant, and we wouldn't have let them drive all the way if we were asked and informed. These are just a suggestions, under the unfortunate situation where a person is locked out, if you have a regular lock, I'd def recommend them cuz they were on time, polite, and open 24/7.

This was my situation, I lost the keys to my truck and originally called Murray Ave locksmiths to get a duplicate, it was a very reasonable price and I was going to have them come out the following day which was payday. But a friend of mine told me that he could do it for me for cheaper so I took his word. And then he screwed it all off and and di didn't realize a certain which is some type of computer program that locksmiths have. So finally I just said I should of called them in the first place. Dovid was the mechanic sent out, his response time and communication skills were excellent. He showed up to my truck and immediately troubleshooted of the problem and got right to work. He was very fast and efficient it was very friendly I highly recommend this company. Dovid was on time and was in and out in a very efficient Manor. I highly recommend this company. And just remember folks you can't just watch a YouTube video and think you can become a locksmith. Just call the pros call Murray Avenue locksmith and they will get you squared away ask for dovid. Extremely disappointed. I went to Murray Avenue Locksmiths to get two keys cut. I prefer to avoid big box stores such as Lowe's and Home Depot and the like. I went here trying to support the little guy, and hoping to get a quality product from a skilled locksmith. I had two copies of two keys made. When I got home, only one was able to turn the lock. I went back to the shop two days later (they are CLOSED SATURDAY) and the guy "went over them again". When I got home, the keys were still not working. Extremely frustrated, I threw away the keys and drove to Lowe's. I used the Minute Key kiosk (a robot) which cut me the copies I needed. When I got home, all four new minute keys turned in my locks like butter. Huge waste of time for me, very annoyed. So much for helping small business. Only reason they're getting two stars is that they were friendly and the store is clean and well maintained - when it's actually open.

Updated at the end of the original review. The guy (Dahvid) was rude (I am originally from Israel and it's people like David who keep me away). I was charged $170 for a new doorknob (at wholesale these things cost $20-$40, so for twenty minutes of work $130). Afterwards, some of my keys didn't work on the new knob and he said 'Get new keys'. He wanted the money and beat a hasty retreat once he was done. His diagnosis was quick too -- 'it's broken, you need a new knob' - after 3 seconds. Most likely the screws needed to be tightened, or perhaps the other keyholes needed work as well. I say this in large part because he shrugged when he tried they old key on the deadbolt (which was not replaced) and said 'it kind of works'. But Dahvid wanted a quick buck. And David got a quick buck. Bully for David. Zero Stars. Update: This is the locksmith mafia. The reason that most of their reviews are 5 stars is because they harass you until you changed your review and offer to pay you off to change it. Really sketchy. Some things I didn't mention in the first review: The locksmith was supposed to show up at 4:00. I called the store at 3:15 to see if he was going to show up at 4:00. Now on the owners response, the locksmith 'waited for 40 minutes'. This is a lie. Also, Dahvid, the sketchy locksmith, not the sketchy owner, when I asked if they take credit card, didn't say "Yes", but instead "We prefer cash or check." After I refused to change my review, this crew went around calling my distant relatives to intimidate me. This place should also check their hiring process which seems to be race based.

Friday at 3:30 I wasn't able to unlock the front door to my place of business and I needed to get in 'cause the place opens at 5:00. I called several places and they needed at least 24 hrs notice or wanted to charge me emergency fees since it was late on Friday. I called Murray Ave Locksmith and they assured me that someone would be there by 4:30 and there's no emergency fee. The technician showed up at 4:15 to let me in so I can get the place ready while he replaced the entire locking system to the door. Service was above and beyond and I was charged a very reasonable price. I highly recommend you call and give them a try if you ever need a locksmith.

Highly recommend this business. My front door lock would not close 8 at night and I did not want to go to bed with the front door open. The owner showed up within the hour and I had a new lock on my door with very little time spent. I had to change the entire lock and knob and he came with his fan fully equipped with a nice selection of knobs to choose from. I got a beautiful new lock and knob that did not clash with my door. He was friendly, approachable, and by the time he was ready to go, I felt like I had made a new friend. Best of all, I did not end up with sticker shock. The service was honest and reasonably priced. I locked the keys to my rental car in the damn trunk. And the 2018 Toyota Camry security feature is to not allow the trunk latch to work if you have AAA break in for you. This locksmith service is really the best. It seems that people always get locked out at the worst times, and I can tell you in my case, that is true. I was locked out of my house a few days before my wedding with fifty things to do and all of my backup keys gone, I was really left in the lurch. Fast forward almost no time at all, Uri comes to rescue me from my dire straits. Uri was fast, smart, funny, and calmly helped me out in a stressfull situation. Cannot recommend him more. With sensitive situations like lock-outs, it really pays when the expert that comes to fix your problem is knowledgeable and helpful. When you really need something unlocked, you have go with the best, Murray Ave Locksmith and their locksmiths, are the most dependable, kind, and trustworthy locksmiths around. I have used them other times, both in their store (key copying) and to have lock maintenance done (rekeying locks etc.) and all of my experiences have been superb.

I bought a used car that only came with one FOB key unit. I wanted another spare key so I purchased a refurbished virgin OEM key from an ebay vendor and brought it along with the car to Murray Avenue Locksmith. David was very professional and explained to me that he would try to program the key but could not guarantee it would work due to the fact that it was used and may be corrupt. After agreeing to pay $50.00 even if it did not work (to cover the charge he has to pay to use the computer and/or software license) and waiting 20 minutes, the verdict came in - success! I now have my spare tucked safely away and some peace of mind. Thank you David and crew!

They should have a pre print list of charges because when I got locked out, the technician started at $120 and keep increasing unverified prices such as $90 for the key extraction and another $90 for picking the lock, now the second lock was not included so that’s another $70. I ended up paying $310 which is nowhere closed to what I thought I’d pay

Terrible counter service. Male could not look up from phone to talk to customer. Female counterpart stated this establishment does not do repairs. Neither employee knew what a door lock spindle was. Each employee did give me a suggestion however of “try going someplace else”. Needless to say “Home Depot” here I come. I needed to have a key made for my motorcycle, since the mechanic lost my original. They were very knowledgeable and helpful in having a new key made. Motorcycle keys are needed for the ignition, trunk, and gas cap, but only the ignition switch is removable, so that was all I could bring in to them. The cuts for each lock (ignition vs trunk vs gas cap) are necessarily the exact same, but they knew enough about the lock configurations such that they narrowed it down to one of two possibilities and cut me keys for both at no extra charge. Other places might've charged extra for that, but they were nice enough to do it without hesitation. I highly recommend them!

I foolishly locked my door knob from the inside and without realizing at the moment, I had left my keys hanging on the wall. Luckily, I had my cell, so I gave Murray Avenue Locksmith a call and they picked up the phone immediately. I spoke to the initial operator, who then connected me with, Tim. He was able to make it to my apartment within 30 minutes of when I got off the phone with him. Tim is the man and got my door unlocked in no time. I highly recommend this service for anyone that foolishly leaves their keys hanging on the wall or forgets their keys in general!

My car key snapped off IN the ignition (then I locked the doors and shut them, AND I had no spare key, go figure) at the Giant Eagle up the street so I walked over to this locksmith for help as I had absolutely no idea what to do this situation. I stopped by to get a spare key for my truck and ended up inquiring about an installation of a Schlage combo lock for my home. I left my mobile # and was told that someone will call me soon. Within 10 minutes I received a call from one of the owner, who's also the installer, who immediately scheduled a time to meet me at my home to get the original key. That afternoon i had a spare key that worked perfectly. At the same time David also helped me to pick the proper Schlage lockset for my home. The lockset came 2 days later and within 30 minutes David (owner/installer) finished the installation and tested the new set to ensure proper operation. David, the owner/technician, was super professional, very nice and eager to solve my issue and ensure i was satisfied I highly recommend to use these guys as they will not hassle you and ensure you get the best product and highest levelcustomer service I will definitely continue to use their services for all locksmith related items Thank you so much :-)

If I could give multiple ratings for various aspects of my experience, I would. I used them for an emergency service to gain access to my home. I called around 5 so it wasn't a super late service call. For availability and promptness, they would get 5 stars. Our service tech was great, friendly and informative. Customer service would also get 5 stars. However, I would give negative stars for price transparency and price structure. Their website lists none under the emergency services, and the price is based on a per-lock basis and not time. The service fee was only $20-25, however, they charged around $175 per lock, and of course the door they had to open had two locks. For about 30 minutes of work, I had a $400 bill. Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for the positive experiences I mentioned above, however, I think the pricing is structured to take advantage of people in tight places and could be adjusted to avoid sticker shock in an already stressful situation.

I had been to several other places and no one could fix my electrical problem..well he fixed it.. I am elated my car is fixed.. The young man's work was great... I called Murray Ave Locksmith and asked them to install an outdoor access card system outside of our side door. On my initial call, I spoke with Chris at the store. He was very courteous and friendly and took the information as to what I wanted done and arranged to have a specialist call me back. Soon thereafter, I received a call from Dave, a super knowledgeable guy. He came to our business that same day to look at the door and the frame and our computer room. He did research overnight and called me the next day. He discussed alternative units, answered all of my questions and we agreed on a specific hardware set. Before accepting the proposal I spoke to a couple of other companies. Murray Ave Locksmith was not cheapest company but I felt the most comfortable with them. On the day of the installation, Dave and Sam showed up on time, installed and connected the new unit and reached out to the manufacturer to assure I ended up correctly adding all Fobs into the software properly. End of story, the system work perfectly as we finished up the software setup and buzz in the 1st fob we tried! Nevertheless I got a lifetime warranty on the hardware and reliable locksmith company I can trust.
