Visited the shop on 09/17/2015. Prompt and quick service having some keys cut/made for Puck Locks that fit on shipping containers. After many failed attempts by Lowe's to cut these keys, the locksmiths at Apex Lock and Key were able to figure it out in less than 10 minutes. I've also utilized their services in the past where a locksmith came to our office and re-keyed our warehouse door. I missed the exterior door to the garage and they came back out to install it a couple days later and waived their normal service call fee. Apex Lock and Key was a tremendous help to me! I have a patio sliding glass door that needed a lock for. I went through numerous unsuccessful attempts to find the right lock and patio latch for the door with other locksmiths and on my own shopping at Lowe's/Home Depot. Apex Lock and Key came to my house, helped me identify the right parts quickly that were needed. In fact they even were able to take out the lock parts which had fallen into the sliding door when I was trying to remove them. Since they did not have the parts on them and were a bit late to my appointment, they even waived their service charge fee. I was very impressed by their level of care for my needs. Apex Lock and Key will do their best to fix your lock problem and if they can't they will still help you out and steer you in the right direction. It's hard to find companies that care as much for the customer these days, but this company seems to be one of those that does. I would highly recommend their service. Thank you Apex Lock and Key!

I also brought in my key fob that was not working after replacing the battery myself. Apex Lock took the fob apart, got it working, and then explained how a small clip needs to be set in order for it to work. They did not charge me for fixing my fob. I highly recommend this business.

This place is great and unfortunately becoming more rare. These guys spent over an hour painstakingly crafting a key for my 12 year old car (staying late to do so I might add). Locksmithing is a valuable trade that people, like me, don't think about until they need it. In a world where keys can be made at big box stores by automated machines, places like this can seem to be redundant. Nothing can be further from the truth! That machine at the big box store would have kept spitting out keys that didn't work and I would have been forced to pay the outrageous prices for a new key at the car dealer, had it not been for the guys at Apex Lock and Key. Locks are extremely complicated, especially if they are any good, and professionals like those at Apex Lock and Key are critical to securing those things we value most. Some time back we thought we’d lost a car fob so went here to get a replacement. They ordered it and before we went back in for programming we found the missing fob. When they called to say the ordered fob was in we told them great, and that we had found the missing one as well. The guy asked us if we wanted to still program and cut the key and we said yes because having a fully functioning spare key would be great. The tech programming the fob was made away that we had 2 functioning fobs already and said he only needed the 1 on hand to program the new one. He never warned us that the one at home would or could be erased and that we should have it present at the time of programming. I would have gone home for it as another 20 minutes of my life is clearly worth not wasting almost $200. Fast forward and a few weeks later I grab the old set and notice it doesn’t work. I remember that when we programmed the fob the tech said our fob had a weak battery so I ordered new batteries before panicking. I replaced the battery and it still didn’t work so I called the store and that’s when the problem began. They refused to accept any responsibility that their employee failed to advise us correctly, and that he was wrong when I specifically asked him if the fob at home would still work after he programmed the new one, (he said yes). Instead they offered to re-do the programming for $50 versus the $75 we’d already paid for. Had we found the old fob after the date of programming or even just forgotten to mention it’s existence this would have been a really nice offer. But that’s not the case. We could have just paid for the physical fob and saved the money. We chose to program a 3rd for safety and the technician and guy behind the counter were both made aware of this. Yet they continued to proceed without telling us to bring that fob in first. When I called them no effort was made to fix their mistake. At no point was any due diligence performed in trying to contact the person who programmed our fob, (took 2 people actually), or any consideration given that they’d knowing programmed the new fob when all originals were not present. So now I’m out in total almost $200 spent to have 3 fully functional fobs, but we only have 2 still unless we want to pay them twice to do the programming portion. I would avoid this company at all costs because they clearly don’t train their employees fully and they don’t stand by their work as such.
