Do not use this service, they are con artist, surprising I’m one of the minorities in the 1-star category, I have a key fob which has a chip built in, I paid for a key to be made from them, everything was fine then 2 mo.’s later, key just stops working, call AKM again, the rep on the phone (sounded like guy I spoke to that made the 1st key) doesn’t want to claim responsibility or show recognition of the service, but proceeds to ask me if the “chip” fell out of the key, so there is an open bay on the fob that just has the loose chip plugged into it which I wasn’t notified about initially, otherwhise I would of plugged the bay or taped it or something, once I realize it’s missing and can’t find it, he says that he can’t offer an discount or refund, but can come make a new one, price was different, was a different guy, also tried to haggle and price gouge and tried to “back up” his co-worker’s lack of recognition/responsibility for the first key making by claiming that the company “doesn’t even use these type of key material” and that “this isn’t from our company” blah blah blah, I just went along cause I just wanted a key and to simply get home to my family with my groceries... now, here we are another 2 mo.’s later roughly, and this morning I went to get in my truck and it won’t start, I run my own home repair business and use this truck to do jobs, I had to pay $175 to have the truck towed to the shop department of the company from which I’m purchasing the vehicle because it is still under warranty, and thankfully I contacted the mechanic and mentioned to him the past issues with the key because he was clueless and unable to pull codes but knew it was something electrical, the mechanic paid for the locksmith to come there and make a new key, the key was dead again, not only did I pay $175 to have it towed, I lost close to $1000 in business to customers that had to seek other contractors because they weren’t able to wait on the diagnosis of my truck and needed the work done, this happened Tuesday morning about 9 am, and just was resolved this afternoon around 5:30, making me miss two full days of work, I will be contacting AKM in the morning with the bill from the mechanic (which they covered the cost for me thankfully) as well as requesting a refund of $220 for the two dud keys I was sold, I’ve been to small claims court already from being sued by a customer and won, I know how this works, I will be nice and only request that the bill for the new key and the $220 for the two services be refunded, or I can take you to small claims court and sue you for all of the above, my tow bill and my lost compensation from my customers for Tuesday and today, and p.s. please don’t test me, I will drop everything and move forward immediately with legal services on you tomorrow if you decline my offer. This has been my experience with AKM, my company is Full-Spec Home Repair and I am out of Waxhaw, NC.

REMEMBER YOU GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR!!!! I own a auto repair shop in Indian Trail where we specialized in european vehicles anyways i had a customer that towed his vehicle in, Land rover, i diagnosed it as the key not working so he needed a new key. From my years of training I know that you should always get the key from the dealer so i quoted him $450 for a new from the dealer plus programing it. He said no he didn't have that type of money. So he hired Auto Key Masters the guy came out here and cut the key and did something to the immobilizer module, well the car started but the kicker is that once it started and he shut the car off he cant restarted unless you unplug the battery. The guy said the switch was bad, nahh i don't buy it. So he tells me that he can cut any key and program it he said "you know how many times the dealer calls me to program stuff!!??" OHHKAY... so i asked him how much for a key for my 2003 Porsche Cayenne he said $250 i said really $250! the dealer key is $400!. OK ill bite do it. also can you cut a key for a 2001 Pontiac, he said sure and he cut it. That was at 1:00 pm on DECEMBER 26 2018. well he didn't leave my shop till 6:30pm that night, he cut two keys and couldn't program any of his supplied keys. He said "ill come back tomorrow to redo it and get it going" LOL HE HASN'T SHOWED BACK UP ITS JANUARY 8TH 2019!!!!! I STILL OWE YOU FOR THE KEY ON THE PONTIAC!! WHEN YOU COMING BACK?? AT LEAST LET ME PAY YOU FOR THE OTHER KEY YOU CUT LOL ILL JUST BUY THE KEY FROM THE DELAER AND PROGRAM IT MYSELF WITH MY FACTORY SCAN TOOL, BUT AT LEAST LET ME PAY YOU FOR THE PONTIAC KEY LOL

There was actually a company called that. AKM. They showed up 30 minutes after I called. They had a new key reprogrammed to start my truck and no problems. I am very impressed with the service and the hospitality and professionalism that they represented to me being a small company. I highly recommend them for anyone in need of a new key fob or key made if lost or broken. There prices were fair and reasonable. Please give them a call if you need good key repair service.

These guys are awful and out to scam you. The worst experience I've had with a small business in years. I wanted a 2nd functioning key for 2 different cars. I paid a $150 trip charge to have them come to me. The technician broke the key on my 1st car, would not replace it for free. So I was forced on the spot to buy and 2nd key in order to have 2. This is already not going well, but on to the 2nd car. I was quoted $450 for a replacement key for this one. He was unable to fully program a key, but wanted to charge me $450 for 3 keys that did not work with push to start. And he left with a part from my door handle in his pocket, which I'll probably never get back. I've tried to contact the owner multiple times, but the dispatch lady is changing her story and covering for a crooked tech. Just use someone else and avoid these headaches. They will also want to use your bathroom and make the house smell like cigarette smoke. What an epic waste of $$$ and time.

In February of this year I had lost my car key while away from my house. Yesterday, less than a year later the chip in that key no longer worked leaving my car unable to start. This is a story lol.. Lie Lie Lie just to get you in the door!! Worst experience I have had!! Please stay away from this company they will rip you off and very unprofessional. So I call the dispatch lady and she was very nice and upfront. Told her my year make and model and the situation and she say it will cost $99 to make a key and $45-$75 for programming. After 4 hour later a technician show up and didn’t even say hi, he just hand me a receipt for $175 and told me to signed before he work on my car. I just went ahead and signed it I figure this is there policy? After 1hour and 30 min he called me and say the key is cut and he’s done. So I went outside and he told me the key and car is good so I ask him did the key start the car? Than he say “it should”?? In my mine I was thinking if he would have started the car than he would have know. Than I ask him if he have a jump box and he say “No” haha... how can you programmed a key to a car if the car dont have any power LOL... so I grab my jump box and he try to start the car and the car will not start! I ask him did he program the key to the car and he say the car does not need to be program??? In my mine I was thinking??? Hello!!! HOW CAN YOU CHARGE $76 FOR PROGRAM THAT YOU NEVER PERFORM?! Than he try to take the key out and he couldn’t he was freaking out he ran to his van and grab some screwdriver and start poking the ignition switch and was gonna take the steering column out and mess up my switch. So I ask him is everything ok and he have this attitude saying “oh this is the reason why the auction people didn’t give me a key because there’s something wrong with the ignition and do I know that the car start?”” I look at him and say yes the car start I start up the car at the auction the transporter never give me a key. So I look over to this what you call technician guy and notice he got the shifter in DRIVE LOL!! I told him he got the shifter in D that’s why the key won’t come out after that I ask him did he program the key and he was piss and will not answer me and etc. Long story short he didn’t know that I’m a master technician and lie about a lot of thing just to bypass and at the end he charge me another $30 and told me because he have to programed the key??? Lol... I didn’t want to talk to this guy I just want him out off my yard quick so I just pay for it. Please try to stay away from this company! Just don’t want anybody to experience this frustration and unprofessional service! Thanks!!!

I called several companies for a quote on replacing a key fob. AKM was the only company to give me a bs ‘starting price’. This is a well-known bait and switch scam, and I am shocked that a local, established company is doing this. They tell you nice sounding ‘starting price’ on the phone, and than hit you with a (much) higher price when they get there. I called several other places, and they all gave me a flat price or a price range. A few years ago I got scammed when I called a 1-800 number for lockout service, and they had also told me a ‘starting price’. After that horrible experience, I always made sure to get a flat price when calling for locksmith or roadside service, and to always use local companies. I am disappointed that some local companies like Auto Key Masters are also using ‘starting price’ tricks to squeeze you for as much as possible.

Do NOT support this business. I spoke with the operator and requested a locksmith who can build a key onsite and unlock my car. The operator read the request back to me word for word and someone showed up who could do neither service. The locksmith then said I need to pay him $30 in cash not card for showing up and he would call someone else but I'll have to pay that person $30 also. This company is not concerned with helping you and seeks every opportunity to take cash out of your pocket. Recommend calling anyone else.

I was in mess after I bought a new car that did not have a master remote with it. I called and got another locksmith (not AKM) who advised the best thing was to buy one online and he would come and program it. After I spent $40 on the key, the locksmith canceled on me and would not call me back to reschedule. After a week, I called AKM and got a person on the phone immediately. No having to leave a message unlike most places a I called. He advised me that there was only a 50% chance my key would work if he programmed it since I bought the key online. So he was totally up front and honest with me which I appreciated. I went ahead and took a chance and it was successful. He had it programmed in 5-10 minutes. Saved me loads of money from going to a Toyota dealer and also saved me from the locksmith who gave me the advice to buy the key online.

He discussed my options for replacing two sets of door handles and dead bolts, gave an estimate we agreed on. Even though it took him about 45 minutes extra to re-key my locks, as they were old and had to be rebuilt from the inside out, he was able to do this for me, and he did not charge me more. You will be very pleased and safe if you need a locksmith and call Miro.

Awesome service! We couldn't find anyone to get our car open and running, being that it was a push start key fob. Miro told us it wouldn't be a problem. He showed up in 30 minutes and we were gone 10 minutes later! Couldn't ask for better service!!

Miro did a bang up job getting me a new key!! I was on a time budget and he got out here and hooked me up in a super efficient manner. He's a super nice guy and he took away a lot of the crazy stress of losing my only set of car keys. The company is fantastic cause they'll be sure to cut you a really sweet deal. I hope I never need another key again but if I do I'm certainly gonna call and ask for Miro!
