I was locked out of my house and didn't have a spare key, so I panicked and checked online for a locksmith -- these guys popped up, so I gave them a call after trying a few other places that were super pricey. The emergency technician would arrive to assess the situation. The technician contacted me immediately and gave me an ETA, and arrived promptly when he said he would! I really appreciated that. When he got here, he was incredibly polite, professional, and courteous with his service. He gave me a very reasonable quote, and performed proceeded to evaluate the situation. Turns out, I had a very secure lock, but he was able to get it open in no time without leaving any damage (using fancy airlock technology). Everything was super easy and convenient, couldn't have asked for better service (I was really stressed about it, but they handled it so professionally!) Overall, these guys were very efficient, very professional, and absolutely reliable. I would 100% recommend them to anybody who needs quick, professional service.

Arthur came to my downtown loft in Soho and installed a Medeco Grade 1 deadbolt to my door. Great guy and very friendly too. Arthur accidentally left a small scratch on my exterior door when trying to remove my old deadbolt, I would still recommend him, he was a great guy.

Just moved into a new apartment in Soho and called a few locksmiths to get my locks rekeyed. I got quoted a few prices from different Locksmiths, but Arthur from Sullivan Locksmith was by far the most fair and honest. I scheduled an appointment for tomorrow since I had a work obligation, but due to last minute cancellation I was free today. Arthur, himself, came immediately this late afternoon and on time for the sudden change in requested appointment time. He was respectful and efficient and was able to rekey two of my locks in less than an hour. He was honest with what type of keys should be the same and which should be different. The final charge, with services fees, was very close to what he estimated. Our bedroom door lock was a three point lock and required a bit more work, which was $5 more than a normal lock. Definitely will use Sullivan Locksmith again, especially for quick and immediate needs.

Favorite locksmith ever (not that I have a lot of experience with lock changing)!!!! I wanted to get my locks changed after a roommate moved out, and when I called Sullivan Locksmith Arthur offered to be at my place in 30 minutes. The locksmith tried twice to duplicate my multilock keys and failed to do it correctly. Both keys would not even GO INTO the lock. When I asked for my money back he shorted me money, threw it at me and was extremely rude, telling me that I was lucky he gave me anything back. Yesterday I made the boneheaded move of locking myself out. I had no way of getting an extra key so I summoned internet skills and found Sullivan Locksmith. I called and spoke with someone from their company and they quoted me a price and an estimate of time for when a locksmith would show up. Wow, I am so glad I found Arthur on Yelp! He was absolutely amazing! My Wife and I live in a condo in Tribeca and have been trying our best to make our condo a smart home! Since I constantly forget keys and lock myself out, we bought the August Lock, which allows us to unlock our door with our cellphones or to give temporary electronic keys to guests. Arthur replaced my old and incompatible Segal jimmy lock deadbolt with an Arrow D series deadbolt cylinder so that it would be compatible with the August Smartlock. This guy is really amazing and is so humble and down to earth as well! Did the job within a hour (including drilling new holes and filling old ones). I highly recommend to everyone! I'm so happy with our new smart lock! It works great! Arthur saved us from returning a new and modern lock that we really liked (if they would have even accepted it since it was opened already by us since we didn't read correctly that our mortise and jimmy lock deadbolt was incompatible). Arthur was prompt, professional, funny, speaks English fluently, knows his profession. He told me a quote on the phone and actually had to do more as my locks were very old and loose. My door lock broke and locked me inside my house ! My deadbolt was very loose too so we fixed both for $150 including labor and a new lock. He took great care to make sure the holes in the wood frame were large enough to have no catching of the latch and put in longer screws than were there for additional support and sturdy bolt plates. Everything was perfect! I have finally found the go to locksmith of New York! I highly recommend Arthur and Sullivan Locksmith, you will be happy you called him!

Sullivan Locksmith is one of the best customer service experiences I've EVER experienced. I mistakenly locked myself out of my place I was able to get a quote( via phone), have my door unlocked and services paid all in 30 minutes! Arthur was very professional and friendly. They came super fast and can do the service quickly. Just be prepared for very aggressive, sleazy sales tactics. They will try to upsell you and get very upset if you don’t agree. Ultimately they did unlock my door but I would never use them again. You can read the details below but the guy made me feel threatened and forced me to post a 5 star review in front of him. I would definitely take some of these other reviews with a grain of salt. Here is the full details of what my experience was like: 1) refused to give a price over the phone 2) came very fast - 15-20 mins, which was great 3) told me that the door absolutely needed to be drilled and there was no way around it. This was blatantly untrue as I had just let the door close without my keys (no deadbolt) and it really just needed to be jimmied 4) said it was going to be $150+ to drill the door 5) I refused to let him drill it and said that was ridiculous and all he needed to do was jimmy it. He refused several times and I said that’s fine but he should leave then because I wasn’t going to let him destroy the lock by drilling it and I will just figure it out myself. 6) Once I told him he can just leave, he told me that I owed him $80 for wasting his time and making him come to my apt. Never once had any fee been mentioned on the phone or by him up to this point. 7) I refused to pay this and he began taking photos of my apt door. It was obviously meant to be a threat (that they would come back to break in) and I took it as such. 8) I was able to negotiate with him and we agreed I would pay $80 for him to jimmy the door. At this point I wanted to pay something to avoid his implied threat and get him to leave. 9) He opened the door in 30 seconds and then told me that he needed me to post a 5 star review and made me post it right in front of him. Overall, my lockout was pretty simple and I could have probably done it myself with a credit card or some other flexible tool. I figured there was no downside to having this guy come and check it out and I was in a bit of a rush. Once he got there, I was sincerely sketched out and ended up paying him $80 just for the peace of mind. I ended up moving shortly thereafter luckily, so don’t have to worry about them knowing where I live. They are able to solve your lockout but just be prepared for some real sleazy tactics.

1) Five stars and they deserve it! Here's what went down. Just moved into a new apartment building in Soho that required tenants to purchase their own locks, Easy, right? Far from it. Turns out it requires a custom extension kit for a 3 inch sound proof door(?) and apparently those are hard to find these days. So hard to find that I drove all around New York with no luck. Interacted with some of the rudest/conceited locksmiths around. Then I found this gem and Arthur. Not only did he treat me like a human being, he was completely thorough in his explanation. A whole day driving around various locksmiths only to finally understand my situation when Arthur explained it. He told me that he didn't have it but was going to look into it and reach out the next day. I was skeptical so I just continued on with my search. To my amazement he texted me the next day and told me he found one and could have it ready if I wanted it. Long story short: go to this place and go to Arthur.

When our brand new door got damaged during installation of a deadbolt, Arthur made sure it got repaired back to new condition. This ended up being a process that took several days because the first paint company contracted to do the repair didn't do a good job and we had to start over with another one. Arthur kept us on his radar, got the second painter lined up (this one restored the door to like-new condition), and followed up to make sure we were satisfied. My place has a keyless smart lock and the battery died unexpectedly. My out of town guests came home to find that the lock would not work. Solid, local, and trustworthy business. Came here a long time ago to get some duplicate keys made. At the time, I lived in a 90 year old historic apartment building on Wooster street and the door had the original locks. Trying to find a key blank at any of the normal spots (Home Depot, etc) was impossible which is how I ended up here. They cut a couple keys for me but when I got home, they didn't work. Stopped back in and they knew why I had come back even before I could explain. The key cutting machine was not calibrated/reset for my keys so the cuts were just about a millimeter or so deeper than they should have been. They realized that right after I left, apologized, and made new working keys for me. Super friendly, knowledgeable, took ownership of the issue and resolved. Thanks!

Update: I hate to do this but I have to change my review. One time I was locked out and it cost me about $180. Next time it was $425 (both at inconvenient hours). That's just ridiculous and there's absolutely no reason for the price hike! Even the locksmith couldn't give me a real reason why it was exorbitant. Unfortunate because I was so satisfied with their previous customer service. It doesn't cost $425 to use a drill to break a lock. Excellent service and arrived in 15 mins to install a new lock. Would definitely recommend!
