Desperate times call for desperate measures! Thanks to Leo for being the most understanding and most helpful locksmith out there. Not only did he actually get here in less than 20 mins but assured us it won't take time at all and gave us the best price! (compared to other services that we know of) My roommate and I, normally don't write reviews but this deserves a really high praise. Make sure you ask for Leo (I hope we're saying his name right) as we recommend his high professionalism and great nature. We truly appreciate Midtown Locksmith and its chosen employees. Ok! Doug was professional, courteous, and fast. Arrived early, installed a new deadbolt lock with new plate under a hour. My door was a bit bent and had problems aligning with the lock. He was able to adjust and fix the problem. The price was perfect. Everyone else was charging, a consultation fee, plus parts and labor. Crazy amounts, Doug was more than reasonable. I would highly recommend this locksmith, any day to anyone who needs help. Thank you

I can be quite the pain-in-butt fussbudget, but Doug remained friendly and helpful. He returned emails and calls ASAP, scheduled the installation within 24 hours, and arrived at my parents' door in Hells Kitchen at 10 am sharp, as scheduled. He instantly got to work, and within 1 hour, had replaced our rusty ancient locks and knobs on four doors. He also sprayed WD-40 on my parents' creaky hinges and sticking door, and added dayglo nail polish to the auto lock switch so my parents would know how to set it so they don't get locked out! I really can't recommend Doug and Midtown Locksmith highly enough.

This entire process was super easy. I texted him some pics of my current lock, and he gave me an estimate over the phone. He asked what my schedule was like, and squeezed me in between appointments. My mom and I were staying in an apartment in Manhattan for couple of days, unfortunately in a moment of confusion we misplaced our keys.. I happen to be in the area and lucky that I found this place. I had made copies of my key at a different place and it didn't work. Another amazing service from Awesome Leo. I first met him when my office in Chelsea needed a lock change on our door, he was fast and efficient then. So when I was looking to have the locks changed and a deadbolt installed at my new apartment, I knew who to call. Leo came literally and hour and a half after I texted him and replaced my lock and installed the deadbolt in like 30 minutes. He's funny, kind, accommodating and his work is flawless. Oh my goodness! Midtown Locksmith made it so easy to get my office rekeyed. I sent them a photograph of the doorknob so that they could see what kind of lock mechanism it was, then 1/2 an hour later they were at my door and rekeyed my doorknob. Also, this honest business let me know that my doorlock was about $150 for a replacement, but they could simply rekey it for less than half the price. I really appreciate that because in business, every penny counts! I highly recommend this company to all.

I needed to re-key 8 locks at my store... I called around to check prices on a Saturday; Midtown Locksmith gave me the best quote over the phone and and additional discount at the end of the job. They gave me the best rates per lock re-keyed. Technician came by fairly quickly and got the locks re-done very fast too...locks and new keys are working great.... great customer service too.... I would definitively recommend Midtown Locksmith!

I needed to get a set of keys made quickly, and having walked past this place several times, I figured I would give them a try. The physical space is clean and looks very professional, and the people working here were great. They were able to cut me new keys in a few minutes and they said if I had any problems with the keys I should bring them right back. Though it was a small job, they did it very well, and I'd come back here again for keys or other locksmith needs.

Very fast and very efficient. They gave us an estimate that was reasonable and a tad lower than other locksmiths in the neighborhood. They were able to come over within 30 minutes on a Sunday afternoon - when our door was unable to open! They definitely saved the day. My experience with Doug from Midtown Locksmith was fantastic from start to finish. He was quick to respond, even on a holiday. The prices were competitive and better than the competition. He was extremely professional, quick, and answered all my questions. You don't need to pay tax, if you pay cash, which is helpful. I had them install a deadbolt. He was on time, even a little early. I'd use this locksmith company again, and saved in my contacts.

These guys are very flexiable with the schedule, I neede my old house lock be changed but I couldn’t find the time to schedule the appointment since I am pretty much at work 24/7. They tried to work with me as much as they could. I got them to come at 8pm on a sunday since that was the only time I was available. They changed my lock with a great service!

I locked myself inside my apartment, started freaking out and called the first locksmith that came up on google. NYC apartments are freaking small and I’m quite claustrophobic. The guy (didn't get his name) came within minutes. Told me that because the door knobs weren't turning he had to break the lock. Quoted me almost 200 bucks. Told him to not to do the job since I can't afford that (on verge of tears but not sure if he's noticed). He phoned up his company and lowered it to $120. He worked on it for about 20 minutes nonstop and finally the door opened. Thank you Midtown Locksmith for helping me and being nice enough to help me even though I know it was a big job and you charged me less than what the job would normally cost. I will make sure to recommend you to anyone who needs a locksmith.

Excellent and responsive!!! I work from home a lot, and today when I took my dog for a lunch time walk, I locked myself out of my apartment. I called Midtown Locksmith because they were the closest to me (I have never needed a locksmith before). They were friendly on the phone and had a locksmith out to me in 20 minutes! They got me back into my place in about 30 seconds after arrival as well. Completely reasonable pricing, especially given the prompt service. I won't use another locksmith as long as I live here.

Never thought I'd write a 5 star review on something as simple as getting a key copied, but here goes. Came in today, was in and out in 30 seconds! He knew exactly what he was doing, and it was incredibly cheap. I think the last time I went to get a key copied I went to HomeDepot, it took significantly longer than 30 seconds, and the key was always a little off. I heard the man helping another customer as well for something more complicated than key copy, and he was extremely knowledgeable and friendly as well. Midtown Locksmith definitely will be my go to place for any lock and key issues!

These people are my LIFESAVERS. I was just on my third day of living in NYC and was feeling very overwhelmed with unpacking and getting familiar with new territory. I ran down to the garbage shoot in my building to throw out some trash and didn't think to grab my keys, since I didn't lock the door behind me. It was then that I found out that my door automatically locks. So here I am - no keys, no wallet, no money, no cell phone - NOTHING! I immediately panicked and my dog, who was locked inside decided to go on a nonstop barking rampage. Keep in mind I am new to the building and a barking dog does not make for new friends. So immediately the panic set it!! Some neighbors in the building let me use their cell phone to call the super but no answer. Finally I made the decision to go around the corner to Midtown Locksmith. Luckily I knew where they were located since they made key copies for me just two days ago. They let me know that a locksmith would meet me at my address in 10 minutes and calmed me down. A few minutes later I was greeted by the locksmith who got me back into my apartment in seconds and allowed myself to calm down - as well as my dog! I cant thank these guys enough for the quick and prompt service.

They are life savers! Called them one day when I broke a key in the lock and they quickly responded to my request. I'm very glad yelp lead me to this locksmith company. You expect to pay manhattan prices but its not expensive and the service is beyond 5 star! Very friendly and prompt with their work, and most importantly kept collateral cost to a minimum- I was in my apartment and in bed before I knew it. Highly recommended!

Excellent friendly customer service. My neighbor was watching my house while I was on vacation and my front door lock broke. They came to the house and determined I had an unusual lock set. He provided advice and did not charge for the service call, which was a relief to my neighbor. I later picked up a replacement part from the door dealer and called for another appointment. He returned and attempted to repair the door but he said I was given the wrong part. He really tried to fix the problem. He left and did NOT charge me for the service call. After learning from the dealer that the lock was no longer manufactured I decided to purchase another set. He returned for the third time and installed the lock. He worked extra hard to make sure the old installation marks were covered. He charged a reasonable fee, especially since he had not charged me for the two previous visits. I'm so glad this business is in my home town. These guys are honest, professional and kind.

After I stupidly left my keys in the door and someone walked off with them, I needed to have the Medeco lock re-set and new keys made. Went to Midtown Locksmith Inc. on 1st Avenue, which is a few blocks from where I live. Spoke to Douglas who originally gave me a quote which was higher than I had seen advertised elsewhere. However, he does have a price-match guarantee, and when I showed him the ad for the lower price, he agreed to match it. Doug showed up about an hour later (as agreed) and went to work. It turns out that my Medeco lock was so old (about 25 years I think) he was not sure the process would work. He took the cylinder back to the store where they cleaned it and removed an embedded piece. Came back promptly and finished the installation. At no additional cost!! Great service, prompt and reliable
