I'm a property manager in Chelsea I and need to deal with professionals on a daily basis, and I must say these people know what they are doing, it's a family of locksmiths and they have been at this location for years. I had a problem with the front door of a building on west 23 street, they came fast and solved the problem in 10 minutes- no need to change anything, and they were able to fix it! Thanks a lot!

The company responded quickly to my email, and they scheduled a convenient time to come by that same day and give us a complete, no-cost estimate. He explained our options carefully and made recommendations. After we agreed on what we wanted done, he scheduled time the following day to do the work. He arrived as promised and stayed until the job was completed. He cleaned up after himself and was very courteous and pleasant to work with. Before leaving, he made sure that everything worked properly and that we understood how to use the newly installed digital locks.

Locks can be super frustrating, especially when you have no clue whats going on.. so.. I broke it. Doug responded with a quote quickly, answered all my calls, came to my house, and about 45 minutes later everything was fixed. Other doors and locks were inspected and he even showed me how to do it myself for the future. the pricing was reasonable, and you cant put a price tag on quality and safety. Seriously nice guy! I was just on my way out of my place to enjoy this awesome weather. Decided to take the trash out, turned around and well found out my bottom lock automatically locks you out. Anyway I'm not the panicking type but realized I had 1)no keys 2)no phone 3)no wallet 4)landlord isn't around. Luckily I grew up in a time pre cell phone and so I knocked on my neighbors door. We called the closest locksmith. The nice gentleman answered the phone right away. I told him the situation and he gave me a price which was actually quite fair. He came over right away and did an outstanding job getting the door unlocked. Super happy!

I highly recommend the technician Doug I have an automatic lock on my door, my luck i forgot my key in my house and it happened to be that I locked myself out of my house. I worked with Chelsea Locksmith Co. to install two locks on my door -- a deadbolt as well as a new front door lock, replacing an old mortise lock. Not only was Ray incredibly responsive and knowledgeable when it came to choosing the best hardware that would work with our existing door, he was both scrappy and professional. When it comes to replacing old mortise style locks with modern locks, it's not always a smooth process. The lock doesn't always fit and the easy route is to just do a lot of patching // buy a new door. Ray not only took the time upfront to help select hardware that would work well, he took the time to make sure it was installed with very minimal patching. All in all, I'd work with him again in a heartbeat. He's responsive, creative, and all around great guy. On top of that, he also matched our two locks and brought extra copies of the new keys so I didn't have to go to their shop to cut new keys. Top notch!

The other day I got locked out of my apartment and tried everything to open the door, to no avail. Luckily this place happened to be right across the street, as a last resort I walked in to see if they could help. The staff was friendly and helpful. The man behind the counte, gave me some suggestions to try opening the door myself and if I couldn't he offered to send someone. Luckily I was able to open the door myself which saved me $ and best of all I now learned a lock trick. Honest, friendly, and helpful. I'll definitely be back for any key related services. Okay, I'm definitely the typical consumer in that I only leave reviews if I'm really angry or if I'm ELATED. Guess which one applies? The latter! My mom and I were in an awkward situation. We had our keys, but one of our two locks to our apartment had been broken for a while. We typically just lock one of them, but after our landlord had come by today to help repair when we weren't home, they had somehow locked BOTH and left us completely locked out. I had a negative experience with a locksmith before, so I was hesitant to call one. I saw Chelsea Locksmith and the awesome reviews, so I decided to give them a shout. Doug answered immediately and instead of the unfriendly, stressed voice I heard with my previous locksmith, I was met with a professional, friendly Doug. He arrived exactly when he said he would and was SO put together! He not only got us into our apartment in less than 5 minutes, but he FIXED the broken lock! During the time that he was repairing the lock, he was so easy and fun to talk to! My mom and I genuinely had fun in a usually crappy situation. Do yourself a favor-CALL DOUG!!!!!

What an honest guy. Came to my office and basically told me I didn't need an extra deadbolt and it would be overkill. Gave me one minor suggestion, fixed it himself on the spot, and was out the door in 15 minutes. He was so incredibly reasonable and honest that I wrote a review--something I don't do. I'm actually going to store his number in my phone -another thing I wouldn't typically do. Seriously don't look elsewhere. This is exactly the professional you need.

If you're reading this, look no further. These guys are great. Locked out of my apartment, I found them on google. After a brief conversation on the phone, he met me at my place 20 minutes later and it took him about 8 seconds to open my door. Unable to find my keys in my apartment, he replaced the lock and gave me a new set of keys. As other reviewers have pointed out, Erwin is very friendly and honest. I can't recommend him any higher.

I came home drunk with an uber, apparently I left my keys in the uber and when I got home the uber driver drove away. I needed to get in my apartment as I wasn’t feeling so great so I called the nearest location which was this place. @ 1am they were able to come and unlock my door ofcourse with some ID Proof and all. And they didnt even charge me the late night fee since they were close by. My uber driver found my keys in the morning and brought it to me only then. Thumbs up peeps! you basically saved me from humiliation...

We just moved to Chelsea and need to get a new lock for our place. So we scheduled an appointment on Saturday with Chris. He shows up on time asked us to pick a lock we want and starts working on it. Everything went smoothly and he finishes within 30 mins. Right after, we went out. Come 1 o'clock in the morning we come back home and we can not open the door. Called Chris and did a quick Q&A then said he would be on his way. Come 20 mins later he's in Manhattan (he's from Queens) to work on my lock. He finally got in, and finds out that the key frame on the door was a hack job that's why it was interfering with the lock. So he grind it down for us and tried to make as little noise as possible to be considerate to our neighbors. After a good hour of work, he finally fixed the problem and he apologized to us that this situation happened (which wasn't his fault) and just walked away! Didn't even ask for any money.

2 days ago I had a small miscommunication with another locksmith company, they didn’t understand me and I didn’t understand them. I just hate when people don’t speak proper english. Anyways, I called this place and they were able to tell me what was wrong with my car lock and gave me a great quote OVER THE PHONE! They came in the next day and were able to repair the broken lock. My old key was working again. Their prices are very decent, NO COMPLAIN HERE!

My keys got stolen when I was at Chloe and I (stupidly) never registered my kryptonite NY bike lock - the strongest one on the market. Every and any locksmith that I could find on my phone wanted to charge me over $100. Chelsea Locksmith quoted me $70 and told me someone would be there in an hour, on a Saturday afternoon. A team of two showed up for the job exactly on time and called to give me 15 min notice. It took the locksmith less than 10 min and that was with a setback (had to make a second cut into the lock), but they were able to cut it entirely off the bike. Despite the extra effort, the price was still $70. I'd absolutely recommend these guys, in a world where locksmiths seem to offer misleading quotes, as they were fully transparent and got the job done.

SHOULD'VE WROTE THIS LIKE YESTERDAY! Excellent service, fast response, fast to show up. Did a great job, and the price wasn't too bad. The tech Ray communicated with me the whole way. Sent me pics of the work via text, emailed my receipts and didn't take all of 30 minutes to change the door locks. Afterwards when I finally got a sec to check the work in person, it worked so smoothly how it supposed to!!! This is the type of service I look for every time! I forgot to mention they took debit card, over the phone. Which is very important to me.

I had some issues with my lock and I called to get some advice. Doug was a very kind man. He was booked for the day and I was also so he suggested I take some strategic photos and text them to him. He called me back in about five minutes and was on the phone with me for about 20 minutes telling me about the state of my locks and a bevy of alternatives I had and suggestions. Then he asked if I would like to make an appt or have him come by at another time if I still did not feel secure with his advice. Wow. I highly suggest this business because this man truly knows his craft and represents his business professionally and with a great attitude.
