I went into Bill’s Lock and Key yesterday to pickout a new front door handle/lock combo, and to set up a time to have it installed. An employee, Kris, asked me if he could help me. I told him my front door handle was sticking and the door lock was very rough to turn. Kris showed me some handle/lock combos they could install, but said the handle/lock set on my door may just need a new spring or need to be lubricated. Kris set up a convenient time on Friday for an employee to come out and look at my front door to see if a new handle/lock was needed (taking measurements if necessary) or if lubrication was only needed. The Bill’s Lock and Key, employee, Eric, showed up today at the agreed upon time. He was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He looked at my door, took apart the handle and checked the lock. He said it just needed to be lubricated and that everything else was fine. The whole visit took about twenty minutes. The employee, Eric, gave me an invoice for a reasonable amount, I paid and he left. The lock and handle work great now. I will use Bill’s Lock and Key again, and let others know about their service.

Everybody at Bill's Lock &Key are fantastic. These people really know what they are doing. I went to Subaru for a new key and they had to get it from the east coast and have it cut back there, then go through several steps to program it. They actually suggested I go to a local locksmith. None of that nonsense at Bill's. They knew exactly which replacement key to order, and they cut it and reprogramed all my keys and car in 30minutes. And for about half of what Subaru was going to charge me. And all the keys work perfectly, unlike those you get cut at those big box stores that you have to take back because they're not quite right. All the staff are very professional, helpful and friendly. I highly recommend them!!!!

I would have written this review the same day we got let back into our new home. But I was so excited to have help to get back in flew out of my head. To back up a little we recently moved in, we went outside to the backyard closed the door and bang we were locked out. It was a Sunday and asked the neighbors who they would recommend. I am giving 3 starts because when I called in for the feature called "My Key" for my Ford Focus, they said they know how to take it off. Then, when I came in and asked to take it off, there was two workers that I talked to and told me they don't program keys to take off the "My Key" feature for my car. They were confident that they do not program that feature. So I went back in my car, made others calls and check other places to see if they program "My Key" features but since I was there already, I tried calling again to their office and hoping they would know I was talking about and next thing I know, the person that knows how to program the "My Key" feature was by my door. From there on, the guy told me that it will take about 45 minutes to do it but it only took him 15 minutes to do it and I only paid $80 instead of $300 at a Ford dealership. The customer service by the guy that helped me was very good and helpful. It feels really good not having to show notifications from the feature that it had. It would be nice if everyone that works there knew everything that they do. It seem like only few knew everything that they do and one of them is the person that answers the calls.

We had some difficulty with a Lexus key fob which was falling apart on us, and we were able to take it here and have the internals put into a new shell, with new metal for 80$ per key. Much cheaper than the 250$ he quoted us per key for replacement, and I imagine the dealership would've been more

I've been here a number of times over the past few years and have always received very good service. Today I had an absolutely amazing experience with them. I bought a replacement key switch for my car at an auto parts store and took it to Bill's to see if they could release it to use my existing key. They told me they could, but it would be much cheaper to rebuild the old lock. They cut me a key for free to test if that got my old ignition switch to turn, which I took home and found it worked well. They then cut the new chip key to get the car starting properly. Total cost was half of what I was quoted elsewhere for the chip key and I was able to return the $200 switch at the parts store. I still need to take off the old switch to have them rebuild it, but it's no longer an emergency and I'll still end up paying far less than the new switch and all that. At Bill's they really know their stuff, they're friendly, and they're honest.

I called and first question was “do you guys make key fabs” and the attitude that came with her response was so rude I couldn’t even believe it and I will not be going there now.. for the great reviews they have I was expecting someone to be nicer when I called with questions about something I didn’t understand. They saved me money by not installing new door locks but rather fixed the old so i didn't have to have it re-keyed and pay extra, that includes the ignition. This is what I call service! I went to another local vendor and they quoted me 400.00 but with Bills Lock and Key, I paid 175.00.

At first they where very nice helping me with a problem I had lossing the key to my car. After everything they told me to do didn't work I came in and was VERY rudely yelled at by one of the female workers. Then I was charged $140.00 for a key that didn't turn my car on. When I returned Monday to speak with the owner to find a solution I was VERY rudely spoken down to and yelled at for no apparent reason. I'm still not able to get my car to turn on and I am very disappointed in the way I was treated at Bills Lock and Key. Upon returning to Bill's lock and key after finding the solution to my problem they did help me to get my car started with a good key at a quarter of the cost of the dealership.

My big box purchased Schlage door locks & handles were pretty sun damaged. 2 days ago I went to Bill's and placed my order with Jason - he was very helpful and accurate. This morning, Phil did an OUTSTANDING job installing new locks and handles on 3 doors. The security door needed some correction (deadbolt lock openings did not quite line up), FIXED. Garage door needed a bit of an adjustment, DONE. He showed me how to properly lubricate the lock bolts and keyholes; then showed me how to change the orientation of the handles. But despite it being such an unusual car, Ian and Bill were able to get the locks and ignition swapped, all while charging us less than half the original estimate and less than 1/4 what the dealer wanted for just changing the ignition. My big box purchased Schlage door locks & handles were pretty sun damaged. 2 days ago I went to Bill's and placed my order with Jason - he was very helpful and accurate. This morning, Phil did an OUTSTANDING job installing new locks and handles on 3 doors. The security door needed some correction (deadbolt lock openings did not quite line up), FIXED. Garage door needed a bit of an adjustment, DONE. He showed me how to properly lubricate the lock bolts and keyholes; then showed me how to change the orientation of the handles. Phil is a master craftsman; he is totally professional & personable, a skilled problem-solver, and a great teacher. I highly recommend Bill's for keys and/or new locks & handles.

My nephew lost his keys at the UNM campus last night. I called Katrina this morning, and of course, she came to our aid. Seems things have slipped a bunch when it comes to costumer service, called for info, had the emergency guy answer because the system was not turned off, so I took a trip in with a new person to get business from, Isaac was upsetting to the new customer enough so that she walked out, I finished up with Isaac (got a key made)and left. I will no longer send people there, as well as I am no longer going there, when I asked for Mary or Will, I was told by a guy I have never met, that he would be the closest I would get, so sad that it has changed so much.

I had a costly experience with this shop. While taking almost an hour and complaining bitterly about coding a new key for a Nissan, the technician neglected to ask if I had any other keys. A few days later I used an older key that hadn't been recoded, which unbeknownst to me, sent the car into a lockdown mode. I had to have the car towed, first to my local shop in the east mountains, then to the dealer in town. After all was said and done, I was out several hundred dollars. I'm fine with folks making a mistake, but where I come from, you admit it and make amends. The manager himself said, "I try to train the technicians, and he should have asked you about other keys." I asked only that they split the bill with me, but the manager declined. When I asked about speaking to the owner, I was told I couldn't contact him by phone and it's not known when he is in the shop. I left my number, but of course he never called. This experience doesn't reflect a reputable business.
