If you are looking to get a newer car key cut and already have a key, just go to Ace hardware. Dave's will charge you $40 plus, Ace will charge you $4 The price you decided to pay for a tool does not dictate the value of the work you're doing.

Came here to get a key blank cut for my car. The guy said my blank wouldn’t fit in his machine and offered no advice for getting it cut. He told me that all locksmiths have the same machine. What kind of locksmith can’t figure out how to cut a key? I got it cut at another shop with the same machine. Apparently getting a car key that flips out of the fob (the kind almost all new cars have) cut is asking WAY TOO MUCH of the locksmiths in Minnesota. The next day I got it successfully cut at Apollo Locksmith in St.Paul for $5!!

We called Dave to check the lock of our front door. He not only was here at the time scheduled but after repairing the lock, he fixed our storm door so that it now closes properly. We hadn't asked him to do this but we were so pleased that he did. Both issues are working better than they have for years. Our only regret was that we'd forgotten to have him check our back storm door lock while he was here. Hopefully we'll "catch" him some time in the future. We would hire Dave again in a heartbeat. He keeps his scheduling commitment, he's neat in his work, absolutely doesn't overcharge, and does more than he's asked. And his wife, who schedules Dave's time, is so pleasant and helpful as well. It was such a pleasure to talk with her.

Very professional, locally owned business. They were able to open my WWII foot locker in just a couple of minutes with an appropriate replacement key. The trunk had a simple lock but I sure wasn't able to pick it. It only cost me a few bucks. Minimum of $5 for cards just FYI. Would go back anytime and will use in the future if I ever need a locksmith again.
