I had called in the morning to inquire if they could copy a Honda key and how much would it possibly cost. I told them that I would bring my own new key fob etc (no parts required, no electronic transponder needed to be re-set). They told me it would be $3. After I reached there and got the key done, I was told it would be $30. They ended up charging me $25 and did not offer to give me a receipt! I was told that since it was a laser cut key and they had to use their laser machine they needed to charge me that much. Really?????

As a technician responsible for the maintenance and management of a fleet of aging vehicles I have occasionally found myself in need of a locksmith or parts available thereto. Several times over the last few months I've reached out to Vogel's (specifically to reproduce worn out keys and provide me with the cut code as well as to supply tumblers for a fleet-wide rekeying effort). Both times the woman on the phone and the man in the background (without hesitation) ignored my requested service and offered me a far costlier alternative. Today, a direct competitor promptly and effectively performed exactly the service I needed (guaranteeing that he'll not only be my only call in the future, but my only recommendation as well). Mr. Vogel, I encourage that you consider making your focus more on providing the service that your customer actually needs, less on ensuring that they MUST come to you to accomplish their goals.

Howlett was able to cut and ship a couple of replacement keys for a vintage Craftsman tool box I purchased on craigslist. The keys arrived quickly and were smooth as butter operating the lock. Service was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend!

Solid as they come. They've done great work on my front doors. I called over the holiday weekend about 7pm as i was locked out. Listened to the message at vogel that gave info on an after hours guy (they work witn) he was great. Got us in in no time. Got us in faster. Cost reasonable. I'm changing all my locks and plan on Vogel being the vendor.
