You have the reviews of real people like you who consume the services and products of Annie\'s Ace Hardware - Petworth (Locksmith) in Maryland area.
As of day this business receives a rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 and that rating is based on 185 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an reviews average is basically the best one, and it's based on a very large number of reviews, so we may say that the evaluation is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to leave their score when they've done well with the business, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to put feddbacks when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Locksmith belongs to the category of Hardware store.
Always have experienced friendly professional employees who are at the ready to assist if needed without hovering around you. Decent prices and a quick in and back out, unlike many large container stores
Great service!! Very neighborhoody!!☺️
they are rude . the owner is rude and doesn't about care what the customer thinks. because they have monopoly on hardware in petworth. prices are high , customer service bad . Justg don't go . period
Decent store. Good expertise.
Super helpful staff and you can usually find whatever you're looking for. They have a garden section and sell Benjamin Moore paint.
Love Annie's! The staff are not only helpful, they treat you like they're glad to see you. Pretty much every time I've been there I've found what I needed, and they're dog-friendly. Just a good, solid neighborhood place.
Excellent customer service!
Staff is unfriendly and often knowledgeable. Takoma store much better!
Awesome selection and in a handy location love this place
If I could give it a 6, I would. I go there all the time. Always clean, well stocked and the staff is pleasant and helpful.
Best at customer service - a depleting skill set today. Discovered Annie's a few years back and they are my go-to spot for DIY projects and advice. Staff are expertly hired/trained to put customer first. I travel further to go to them.
I just came back from a short trip to get some potting soil and seeds, nothing extravagant. I spoke with Annie on the phone before I went and at the store. She and her staff are helpful, knowledgeable, and very personable. Annie gave me some money saving tips and directed me away from a more expensive item to a cheaper option that she thought would work better with what I was planting. The garden center space seems limited but since it is March they didn't have much out so I can't comment on the selection. The experience was so good that I am looking for reasons to return. Glad to have such a wonderful store only a few blocks away.
Great until...I brought in 4 window screens for eepair. Measurements taken promptly and I paid promptly. Called in a few days to check on the status and they were ready. I came to pick then up and on 1 screen could be found. That's after he got the name wrong. Kwame, the manager, brought me the one screen (of 4) and when I said there were 4he literally walked away. That left Katherine to try and help me. She literally measured screen after screen to see which one met the dimensions on my order. We found some that matched but honestly there was and is no guarantee that they are the right ones. Their advice, if they don't work, bring them back. Really? As I left the store, I asked Kwame, why he walked away and didn't come back? His response, "They have me doing a lot in this store." That is unacceptable. So I asked him what if these aren't right? " I guess we'll just have to make you a screen from scratch. That's all well and good but why can't I just get what I brought in and why didn't anyone keep up with my order? Shame on Annies and shame on me for paying BEFORE services were rendered. I won't be back.....unless, of course, I have to return screens for another unsuspecting customer whose screens I may have.
This is hands down my favorite hardware store in DC. I live closer to the (notoriously horrific) big box store in NE, but I would rather traverse Georgia Ave to buy from their competent and extremely helpful staff. Their prices are reasonable, their selection is extremely good for a store of its size, and their lines are short and pleasant. Highly recommend.
Annie's is the perfect place in this part of northwest dc, convenient, walkable, in and out service depending on what day and time. If they don't have, they will try to get it for you. 5 stars because of the effect, thanks Annie for choosing my 20011 area.
The staff at Annie's is one of the best around.
Extremely Well Organized. If you've every tried to buy PVC connector parts at the Home Depot, you'll be pleasantly surprised to find how every part at Annie's is in the correct bin, and *none* of the bins are empty. Great Customer Service. SO GLAD we have a great alternative to the Home Depot!!!!
Does anyone NOT love the expertise, helpfulness, knowledge and convenience of Annie's? Plus, every time I get a sighting of Annie, I'm reminded of how much I love mom&pop businesses (or mom&mom or pop&pop etc, u get the idea) & hate corporations. The employees here seem to like their jobs, each other, and the customers. Home Depot, on the other hand.........
What an awful customer service experience from checkout to management. I’ve never had such rude and dismissive people create problems rather than solutions at an Ace. Over 30 years at another local store in another state, I was excited to find my local Ace. I won’t be back if it can be helped.
OMG..I was so excited to find a hardware/small ,plant shop within my community that I took my 4th trip in the last few weeks for home maintenance and spring home updates. Up till today the customer service was friendly, and knowledgable and products, esp flowers were professionally presented and flowers were pleasingly fresh and healthy. BUT I"ll never go back again and will tell all neighbors to stay away !! I asked whether I could get a small discount on one of the many weathered looking plants and the nice cashier asked a mature lady, also working the cash register, whether he could accommodate me. She begrudgly began to lecture me about how a discount wasn't warranted because this type of flower needs to be deaheaded and tried to explain why it looked so spindly and unappealing but dourly offered to knock a dollar off . Her demeanor was so patronizing but I was still going to purchase it in hopes that I could revive it. However she subsequently made the most flippant and meanspirited sarcastic remark that I took the credit card from my hubbies hand and said let's go! As I was leaving I lamented to hubbie how different this experience had been for the worse and she chimed in " Oh yeah..I guess I'm the worst!". The only think missing was a neck roll from her while she sucked air thru her teeth! You know..as a clinician I never encourage patients to diagnose themselves but I think she might have done justice to herself in her self diagnosis- today ma'am you were right - Your Customer Service WAS THE WORST! PS...I can't confirm this as I didn't get her name but a customer who heard her rudeness and left without purchase identified her as Annie, the owner. SAD!
Local and they mostly have it all
Great service, large variety of items, awesome staff!
Always helpful.
Called before I came to the store to confirm that the correct paint that I wanted was available but was told that I had to come into the store in order to find out. I ended up driving all the way from National Harbor MD to this location to be told that they did not have the paint I needed.
Knowledgable staff, great service and I don't have to drive to HomeDepot... what more could you ask for. Thanks Annie!
Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great variety and very helpful staff. Got the funny light bulbs we needed
Quality service, rewards card, local, reasonable prices, and parking
I love that we have a neighborhood hardware store. Everyone is always very helpful and I love spending my money in DC store that supports the neighborhood rather than going to Home Depot.
Friendly staff. Helpful and knowledgeable. Everyone goes out of their way to make sure you are helped and satisfied with your shopping needs. Big enough to stock most everything but conveniently compact so you are not lost. Very good gardening supplies. Glad to know I can walk here from home and use my shopping cart. Competitively priced.
Bought my gloves for work gere, the only place can find my size. They are friendly and helpful!!!!
an employee asked me if I paid for my Miracle Grow, in front of several other customers. I'm pissed and upset. only Black woman in the store
Behold, It contains all what you need to get things done at Annie's Ace Hard Ware.
My mom was able to find things there that she couldn't find at Home Depot! Not to mention the helpful friendly staff and low prices. Her shopping trip was a success!
Ace Hardware generally captures the feel and benefit of the small local hardware store. Annie's Ace really goes above and beyond, having people that really know what they're talking about, and generally good service.
...first time calling Annie's Hardware they had me on the phone waiting for over 10 minutes...won't be visiting Annie's...
What a great local hardware store. Staff is always friendly and very useful. Great deals. Definitely my favorite hardware store.
We adore Anne, and her hardware store. She and her staff are all friendly and keen to be helpful; even offering to special order things, and asking lots of questions about our home repairs / remodels to see if there are items we may need in future. Great seasonal plants, very neighborly, overall a wonderful place. Always a good experience. My toddler even loves to go "visit Annie store".
Great selection. Very pleasant and helpful staff
My go-to place for all my home needs. Everything from lock sets, house paint (and paint recycling!), garden shears, window screens, grill supplies, and dish soap. They even do lawnmower repair. Staff is always friendly and extremely helpful. I bring my dog, she get's treats, I'm happy. I'd rather spend a little bit more here than buying something online. Annie's is a place I want to support and keep in the neighborhood.
Great local hardware store. Everyone is super helpful. I might be just a little more expensive than the big box warehouses but the service can't be beat. Highly recommend.
Quick E-Z!!!
The friendliest most helpful staff in town. These guys actually know what they are selling and can help you find the right stuff for pretty much anything. A fantastic resource for Brookland!
Super friendly & helpful staff!
Great store.
I Just Got Off The Phone With An Employee He Immediately has a disrespectful tone talking to me , What Type Of Manager would hire a disrespectful employee
Customer service is extraordinary! Although it is a small hardware store, it always has what I am looking for. Thanks for coming to my neighborhood!!!
I really like Annie's Ace. I get excellent customer service and help here, so that's a big plus for me. This store also has a lot of home goods, which is really convenient.
Ariel, Danielle and Ifron are the best! Incredible Service. This team is unbeatable!!!
Not a big box Store. An old fashion hardware store with lots of inventory and people who know something about how to use it.
Awesome place. Although I do like the brand "ACE". I would love to see home depot buy ACE and rebrand it "Home Depot Express" as long as they keep the same level of service. Annie's ace has great service and someone is always there to help if you if you need it. Although most of the time i know what I need and were to find it because the place is small enough not to be overwhelmed.:)
I go for one or two things and end up spending an hour there. Such great selection, friendly staff, and wonderful service. I even adopted a kitten from an adoption event Annie's had in their parking lot with the WHS. So glad I don't have to go to Home Depot with Annie's in the neighborhood.
Annie's is a great neighborhood Hardware store with a friendly and knowledgeable staff that are always eager to help. Annie has always been a friendly face and even helped in the efforts to find out dog that escaped the yard one day. (He was found!) She and her team go the extra mile to ensure all your needs are met and that you leave feeling good about your visit. Highly reccomend this place over Home Depot if you can.
You can't get any better then Annie's Ace Hardware, she knows more than most people forgot, her service is incredible. She is an asset to the community.
Annie's is the go-to place in the Petworth, Columbia Heights and Brightwood area. Since opening, they have done a great job with attempting to tailor their stock to suit the different needs of urban and rowhouse homeowners. Including items for your bike you'll never find at home depot. The paint department is great and easier to get in and out than the big box stores. Most of the staff is super helpful and you can always find help if you need it. Prices are a little higher than home depot or Amazon in some cases, but the service is great and if you live anywhere nearby, it's far easier to get to and in and out. Bonus: don't miss the great selection of vintage sodas (Cheerwine!) behind the checkout. Annie's has been a great addition to the neighborhood.
Marvin made my day, found everything i could need that guy is nice
Great selection for a neighborhood hardware store. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable too. Prices are a little higher than you might pay in the suburbs- but the convenience and service makes it worth it.
My store and bike experience were great.
I called ahead to verify a flapper was in Stock they verified it was. I show up 10 min later they do not carry the flapper. Typical of this location. They will probably not have what you need.
This was the closest hardware store to our home, so the first place we tried and where we went to hire a locksmith to have our locks rekeyed. The management informed us, after the first "locksmith" didn't show, that the arrangements were between us and the locksmith and NOT Annie's Ace. We were in a bit of a bind, since the gentleman said we could save him time if we removed the locks before he arrived. Being new to the area and naive, we went back to Annie's Ace where we met the "master locksmith." He sold us some doorknobs and locks and made an appointment to come out 5 days later. Turns out he and his partner weren't all they claimed to be; they spent 8 hours at our home over the course of two weeks and we couldn't use our front door. When we finally had a true locksmith working for a company that only does lock work come out, he was able to put all four doors in working order the way we wanted them and in less than 2 hours.
Great customer service everytime I go there. Awesome store.
Variety store!
Friendly and helpful staff. So much better service than Lowe's or home depot
Small store but they always have exactly what I need. Friendly service too.
DO NOT ATTEND THIS LOCATION! The owner is ridiculously rude, as if she is angry at the world. She is racist and does NOT know how to treat a customer. On top of that the employees are also often very rude. Only reason I would come in was because one employee actually knew how to do his job. Turns out he is no longer working there. Unfortunately I never got his name. If you desperately need to go to the hardware store, make the trip out to Brookland. The pet worth location is AWFUL. I read the other reviews and noticed I’m not the only one with this problem. If you have this same problem going there, don’t ignore it. This is wrong, it’s 2019. Respect is not assumed, it is earned, and Petworth’s Annie’s Ace Hardware obviously doesn’t care.
Great place!!
Wow! This is our local hardware store and they are fantastic. I totally pay a little more to support this local business then Home Depot which is bad around here. They always give me advice, point me in the right direction and we love Jerry the garden guy!
Love this place! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Best store EVER! Staff are always extremely helpful and knowledgeable!
Betsy and Damien have taken such good care of us. They are so knowledgeable and generous with their time. We just bought our first home so we have a lot of projects and Annie's is the best! Thank you so much!
The Experience Was Awesome The Staff Was Great And Very Helpful Compared To Other Stores.
I am, slightly biased; my father currently works here, and so I see Annie of Annie's ace every so often. Petworth, Columbia Heights and Brightwood areas are all served by Annie's ace. Annie herself is a local businesswoman, and paying a bit more to support a local business is worth it for me. Annie's Ace is worth the trip; if they don't have it, they can point you to someone who does. They do non-electronic key cutting, paint mixing, along with Christmas trees in the winter in addition to their normal hardware stock. Walking into any of Annie's locations with a question usually means little, to no wait time for help. They will more than likely come to you before you spot them. The staff may not always know what piece you're handing them, but they will certainly listen and learn if you do. If not, they will be happy to do the Googling. All in all, they are a lot friendly than some of their competitors, and as a fair number of employees seem to have been contractors of some sort; are willing to offer advice.
IT CLOSES AT 6 NOT 7 ON SUNDAYS!! its obviously googles fault, im sure the place is wonderful! When its open..
Great neighborhood hardware store. Very knowledgeable staff and lots of interesting items.
Friendly locally owned hardware store.
Rude and unprofessional phone service from staff. Also unwilling to answer any type of follow up question, totally disconnected with costomers.
Very friendly staff and great selection of hardware
Very helpful staff and wide assortment of hardware needs. A neighbourhood gem.
Don’t come to this location the rudest employees ever.. Very unprofessional, Very slow and let’s not forget rude rude rude .. I’m a general manager for 13 years and never experience this type of rudeness
Simply the best option for any sort of home improvement in DC. Can't think of what you need to get the job done? Annie's ACE has the people who will eagerly figure it out with you. In terms of prices, service, and quality, Annie's people definitely know how to impress.
Amazing and very helpful staff and great selection of items. Good job!
Annie's Ace seems to be a pretty convenient and reliable hardware store for the neighborhood! When I visited the store felt a bit disorganized and hard to maneuver because of errant ladders and boxes in the way, and many of the houseplants they were selling looked to be on their way out. But, it's in a great location and they have dedicated parking which make it somewhere I'm sure I'll return.
Great local business. Helpful and knowledgable staff.
Great selection, knowledgeable helpful staff, friendly, free parking, & hipster impulse items near register. ;)
The employees are ALWAYS very helpful here and this neighborhood spot almost always has exactly what I'm looking for. Even Annie herself was on the floor today asking if I needed help. I checked all 5 things off my list and found a few other special surprises for visiting grandsons!
Great neighborhood hardware store.
Friendly people. Helpful service people. The complete and total opposite of Home Depot - instead of having to look for 20 minutes for someone to help me, at Annie's the staff are actually looking for me and come up to offer assistance! Such a breath of fresh air!
Great customer service! This hardware store has the friendliest employees and have the know-how experience to help ME, get the job done. Love that fact they are much closer than Lowes and Home Depot!
Great neighborhood hardware store. There is always staff available to answer questions and provide assistance.
Stopped over here 5 minutes before closing on a Sunday - a run of bad luck had me looking for something to stop my transmission from gushing fluid. Long story short, I left the city without it - all thanks to the good will of the staff and proprietor(s?), it hasn't been impounded. Gave me time to arrange someone to haul it back home. Also, they have a lot of stuff crammed into a compact footprint - their epoxy selection is on point, and i'm amazed their prices are so fair given the area. Thank you Annie's, I owe you one=]
Visiting from OH and repairing our daughters gas range. All the mounting screws twisted off during disassembly. ANNIE, loaned me a tool that I needed, allowed me to use her vice and hacksaw and her crew donated some wood pieces we needed badly. They all were most helpful aND gave great advise. Bottom line : After 5 hrs.
Always and infallibly helpful and courteous staff, and has well-chosen merchandise for their urban customers. They really know and serve their community and I think they deserve to prosper.
Fir a neighborhood hardware store, it pretty good. A wide range of products. I go there sometimes when I need something quick. It's local to me rather than going to Home Depot for one small thing. It's a matter of convenience, so they can be a bit pricey. But, sometimes they have that one thing you need and home Depot doesn't have.
Awesome service from this local hardware store. Everyone asks if you need help or are finding everything ok.
Great local hardware store that continues to get better year after year. They expanded their space a year or two ago and have a wide range of hardware focused on household projects. Kid and dog friendly, with lots of helpful staff.
So helpful. And they have everything. Such a relief not to have to go to a big box store.
I always have a great experience when I visit the neighborhood hardware store. The staff is friendly and they tend to have whatever item(s) I'm looking for. They will even do same day delivery on certain items. The store is clean and organized and there is sufficient parking in front of the store and on the street.
Solid hardware store with a great range of products and helpful staff. Nice variety of small houseplants and potting materials as well as a comprehensive plumbing section. Other sections like electrical looked good too but I didn't need anything from there. Much more convenient than Lowes or Home Depot if you live near by and don't need something particularly odd or large; and they have parking!
