I have never lost keys before. I lost my very expensive car key and wanted a spare. This was the only business I could find that wasn’t a dealership to get a new key. 1. Answered the phone. 2. Confirmed vehicle details and provided cost. 3. Made an apt for the next morning. 4. Called back to get another key for my second car since I only had one. 5. Showed up on time and with the right keys and supplies for both cars. 6. Gave an extra battery and provided instructions and future cost if I ever lock myself out completely. 7. Cost was the same as the estimate- this is huge to me- no unexpected charges. 8. Polite and professional. Now, to find a device to locate my key if I do misplace them in the future.

TO avoid any confusion, I'm using my girlfrien'd's account, but my name is Adam. I had to get a regular, unchipped key made last week and the dealer charged me $43. $45 with tax. I needed a chipped key for my mazda 3 and the dealer quoted "$200 minimum and told me it would take between 45min - a hour." This wasn't lost or switchblade key the car doesn't havt power windows or locks so the key couldn't open the doors or windows electronically. Just a basic chipped key. Called up Dave and he quoted me just under $95 and said it shouldn't take more than a few minutes, he cut the key from my 1 original and the car was running in under 5 minutes. Since it was less than 1/2 price from the Mazda stealer, I asked for a second and he made that one for a discount. all told I paid less than 60% of what the dealer told me was the minimum for just 1 key. He also gave me a free blank for the non-chipped key I paid $45 for the other day. i'm taking it to a local lock smith and I'll have an extra unchipped spare for less than $10 in total.These guys are great, so great that I've actually pulled my tired old body off the couch to write this review. My son has a single chipped switchblade key that the dealer told me would cost between $600 - $700 to make a second. they told me if it got lost before the second was made, it would by almost $1,000. Dave quoted me a price for any uncut switchblade key that was less than what I paid for the two keys he cut me - and said a second switchblade key would be discounted, too. you can be sure we're getting two new keys from Pop-A-Lock first thing this week. Also, Dave was professional and so personable. I never left a review for any company before but these guys are absolutely top notch, fair and honest. they're not just nice, but they are super skilled. i love nice, but at the end of the day and between the two I'd rather have skilled and that's just what there are. With Pop-A-Lock you don't need to choose, they're great at what they do and great people. try them if you ever need a key, loose your only key or - god forbid - your young kid gets locked in your car. they'll get him/her out for free. even if you think you have enough keys, all it takes is loosing one and then having your dealer charge a good portion of your monthly mortgage or rent to get you back on the road so you can get back to work. i know i'm going over the same stuff now, but pop-a-key of maine truly deserves all this praise.

Absolutely the best, most professional, and personable service I could have hoped for. David G came right to my driveway and was able to cut and program a computer chip switchblade key for a late model car, and a computer chip key for mid 2000's car within minutes and get everything programmed right on the first pass, and all for 2/3rds of the price of what the dealership wanted to charge me for just the late model key. Provided me with new car keys this morning after losing mine over the weekend. Very quick, professional, and straightforward. Accurate quote was given with no hidden fees, and it was considerably less than I expected. The gentlemen not only provided an extra key at no additional cost, but helped me get a discount through AAA, halving the cost. Hopefully I never have to need their service again, but would absolutely recommend.

I lost my mom’s car key on a Sunday and needed a copy made ASAP. I first called AAA to have them connect me to a locksmith but they weren’t able to do so, and I had remembered someone mentioning pop a lock. When I called their Portland location, a very nice, efficient, and helpful employee (Kirk) answered. He immediately gave me all of the information I needed, in addition to calling AAA for me since he had a direct number and he knew I would get a discount. He was at my apartment within 20 minutes and quickly made the keys for me. He was nice kind and professional when he arrived. The pricing was completely fair, if anything, more than fair. I would recommend this AAA certified company any time!

I wouldnt give him a second call. I was on vacation to old orchard beach and accidently locked my keys in my car and I called him and he basically told me to F. Off so I wouldnt consider him as an option!

All I can say is "wow"! I was stupid and lost ALL the keys to my car and kept being told that I would have to get my car towed to the dealer in order to get keys made for it. Well guess what? They were wrong. Kirk Ditzler came out to where my car was and made me several keys. He even gave me a handful of free batteries and a gadget that can track my keys from an app on my smartphone. I called PopaLock after going to dealership where I purchased a truck (2017)--at the time when I purchased the truck I was informed that one key provided was the only one that opened the tailgate---I returned to the dealership to have one made--they could not find the blank--long story short-- the professional at Popalock waited on phone while at his suggestion I tried the fob emergency key--it worked! They could have charged me for a new key This is an honest and professioal operation--do not hesitate to utilize their services
