The owner is incredibly rude and apparently isn’t interested in your business nor your money. I had an issue where my tenant is locked out of her condo. I am out of town so I had someone call American Lock for me and ask if it was possible for them to pick the lock. They said yes. In the meantime, there was a miscommunication and the person helping me called American Lock back, NOT EVEN 5 MINUTES LATER (zero exaggeration), and canceled the service bc he thought my tenant found a key. Upon realizing she didn’t have a key, I called the company myself to ask a general question about the situation and have them go out. As I was speaking, the owner continued interrupting me and telling me the service was cancelled. I wasn’t even talking about the service at that moment, I was simply trying to ask a general question. But I told him that it was just a misunderstanding with the tenant and that we did in fact need a locksmith. Instead of being direct and professional, he chose to act like a 10 year old bratty child who had his feelings hurt and just kept interrupting me saying “the service was cancelled.” So finally after realizing that this grown man was actually acting like a passive aggressive preteen for something that was definitely not personal and did not whatsoever put him out in any way, I said “wait, are you telling me that you don’t want my money?” He responded with “not right now. Maybe on another job.” Yeah. Classy. So if you guys are looking for an emotionally unstable child who takes insignificant situations oddly personal, American Lock is the place for you.

I needed a replacement key for my Toyota and originally went to Loews. I stood by that kiosk thing for about 15 minutes (on my 30 minute lunch break) only to be told "we don't do car keys anymore). I went to home depot and after another afternoon waiting to be helped, the employee told me "Yea. Um.. Like, the machine is down so. Sorry" and just walked away. Ok F me right? Then, I went to American Safe and Lock. The inside is just a wall of keys with a counter filled with a display of locks, safes, and pretty much everything you could think of. I was greeted immediately by Gene. A nice older gentleman, Gene knew his stuff. While he worked on my key, Gene and I chatted about this and that, even sharing a few funny stories about old customers (presumably from 40 years ago). I was on my way before long, new key in hand, wondering why I ever bothered with the BS at those bigger stores. If you have a key or lock issue, go to Gene. He's the man.
