A cheaper locksmith lives up to its name and slogan. The service is reasonable priced, but they deliver a high quality service. I got locked out of my car recently, with the keys in my trunk. No spare. They came in and unlocked the car in no time, without damaging the car in any way. The guy that came out was very nice to talk to and very friendly. They even charged me less than estimated and the whole experience was very pleasant. All in all, the service part was awesome. The reason I'm giving it 4 stars is that they had made a spare key that was not needed for the emergency lockout procedure. They told me I could go pick it up, since it was already made. They charged me 55 bucks for a basic, non-chip, non-laser-cut key. I do think the price was very steep, and I would have gone with a different locksmith should I had the will to do so at the time. They just caught me off guard on that one. This, of course, is completely separate from the lockout service provided, and I dealt with a different person for the key than the one that actually got my car unlocked. [UPDATE] Not even 10 minutes after I posted the original review, I got a call from A Cheaper Locksmith. They admitted that I had in fact paid too much for the key. When I answer with an ironic/joking "Do you think so?" they explained the matter better: Since I didn't deal with the same guy that performed the service earlier when I went to pick up the keys, there was a miscommunication and I was charged for the full service again, or something like that. Since that was the case, they actually went on and voided the transaction, so that I would get a refund for the 55 bucks that I had "paid for the key". Having them apologize and own their mistake [including the refund, that I really appreciate] actually speaks even better of them. We can all make mistakes, but not everyone will actually make things right. Some unscrupulous businesses would perhaps kept the money and say nothing. So, props for this guys and 5 start rating this time. They earned my business, though I hope I don't have to use them again [not for lockout emergency services, anyway], haha. [UPDATE]

These guys are GREAT. I bought my daughter a car that came with only one key and no remote. Several other places quoted me a chip key (I gave them year/make/model) and said they'd have to order remote. Went to this place and they told me I did NOT need a chip key (saved me $65), plus they had the remote in stock, and instead of the quoted $124 from other places, it was $70. Would highly recommend. Once other owner arrived with what I needed, was in and out with programmed remote in less than 15 minutes.

These guys rock the house. I'm from Phoenix and lost my key to my 2011 Infiniti G37. I called everywhere. No one was able to program my key faub. The technician that was sent out to perform the work was incredibly fast, showed up with a cut key, programmed my keyless ignition and did it with professionalism and deep technical know how. I was shocked. I had this done in Phoenix and it took over 2 hours. The Infinity dealership wanted me to tow the vehicle in and charge me over $600.....and Infiniti lied to me and told me only they could do it. This company was honest and PRO LEVEL. Polite knowledgeable technician and very quick to show up as well as complete the work. Super happy. Next level pro's here. No joke, they are stunning....and the cost...super reasonable.

I just bought a used 2008 Nissan and the dealer only had 1 key. I called Nissan and they quoted me over $300 to buy a key and keyfob and have them programmed. I bought a key online and they programmed it for me for $40 dollars!!! Saved over $200. Great service, friendly staff, and quick work. I will be back for any locksmith needs in the future.

Went to Cooks Locksmith first after they told me over the phone they could program two new remotes for my sons Mazda RX-8. Once there, they became reluctant to do so for fear of disabling the car and suggested I take it to the dealership. I called A Cheaper Locksmith instead and the gentleman (forgot his name) told me that if he couldn't program it no one could. I took it there and 30 minutes later had two working remotes and keys (he had to add the chips to the keys because I ordered them without). Would very much recommend this business. Very friendly and accommodating.

Found this place on Google today, reviews are solid and I liked the name. Called them up with hopes the could duplicate a key for a roof carrier that was broken in half, he had me send him a picture of the key to verify he could copy even if it wasn't broken, 5 minutes later he said he could do it. The picture I sent him saved me a drive and I really appreciated that. I headed up there, 10 minutes later I had two copies that are working perfectly. Friendly guys in the store, definitely know their stuff and the pricing was true to their name. Not bad at all. I will be back

I had such a hassle calling locksmiths and dealerships trying to get a key made to not only unlock my car, but start it as well. Just about every locksmith was telling me it would be a $15-25 fee just to check it out, then pricing would start anywhere from $100-119 and go up from there. That was a lot as it was, and then the dealership told me it would be $60 to make a key, and then another $100 plus, just to program it to the car. Anywhere else priced me anywhere from $170 to $200. A Cheaper Locksmith charged $135 flat rate, and then $35 for a second spare key to be made, totaling $170 for the whole thing, which would have been give or take the low end of the other prices, for just 1 key. A Cheaper Locksmith was super friendly and helpful and I would absolutely recommend to anyone. Hopefully I never have to need them again, but if I do, I sure know who to call!

I cannot recommend this locksmith enough. Not only does the guy running it (David) provide honest and excellent customer service he's very likely the best bargain in town. I priced Cook's, Klein's and Car Keys Express before I went to him and he was slightly cheaper than all of the rest. Initially I went to Bachman Chevrolet and while Bachman gave me a great deal on my key fob itself (they threw in laser engraving at no extra cost) they couldn't program the chip for my 2008 Saturn Astra XR. I went to A Cheaper Locksmith and David initially tried to get it programmed at no cost but my car wasn't capable of programming the chip. I was afraid David wasn't going to be able to program the chip either but he succeeded where the dealership failed. I could have saved time and money if I had just come to A Cheaper Locksmith first. As long as David is in business I'll never make that mistake again. A Cheaper Locksmith is now my go-to smitty. I'm glad I found him.

I went to A Cheaper Locksmith about a month ago and I was just thinking about how nice they were to me. I went there to get all my new car key's chips synced so they all worked on my car. They didn't have the machine they needed to do the syncing right then, but one of their employees rushed back to the store as fast as he could to do the job for us. When they were syncing the keys, they found that one of our keys was not cut properly, not their fault, and so they quickly re-cut the key for me and it worked great after that. They then finished the syncing and gave me a VERY fair price for their services. I don't know if my story makes any sense, but I was very impressed with this business and their kindness and quality of service that they gave to me. They are very honest and friendly people there. i would recommend them to anyone in the Louisville Metro.

Rob came to unlock a stubborn, old deadbolt on my condo. It was an old mechanism that got locked accidentally after miscommunication with a plumber. Rob ended up having to drill the lock because it wouldn’t unlock due to age/corrosion - and he even had a replacement to fit the hole so you couldn’t tell. I’m moving in a few weeks and will have Rob back to change my locks and will keep his info on file. I cannot recommend him enough.

I was locked out in the middle of the night. He called when he left and when he was 5 minutes away. I really appreciated these updates. It took him 10 seconds (maybe) to get in. He never acted as if I was an inconvenience to him or that me being locked out at 1 in the morning was just going to ruin his day. The prices were also the cheapest I could find. My parents live out in the country in Shelby County and last week lost the keys to their car. After two days of searching for their keys over the weekend on Monday morning I called two other locksmith services in the area and by 10AM had not even received a call back. THEN I CALLED A CHEAPER LOCKSMITH. At this point I would have paid any sum. They immediately answered the phone and listened as I explained the special needs involved as my father has difficulty hearing. I was quoted a fair price and scheduled the service. Within 20 minutes I received a call from their technician, Austin stating he was 30 minutes away. He was ringing their doorbell within 25 minutes! He was VERY professional and courteous to my parents. He had their car started with a new key and key fob within 15 minutes and then charged even less than we were quoted for the service. I was Highly Impressed! I'm not sure that a FIRE TRUCK could have gotten to my parents quicker from nearly 40 miles away! This business has EARNED my loyalty for any future locksmith needs and I will highly recommend them to ANYONE!

I highly recommend “A cheaper locksmith” because of great pricing, quick response time and they actually answered the phone.They have come through for me twice.I originally did business with them several years ago when I was out of town on the day after Thanksgiving when I was unable to contact any other locksmith. A guy named Jay came through for me then to let the cleaning person in. I kept their number in my phone. The second time was when I lost the only key Fob, Blake came out and was awesome. They charge me $392 to make a new key fob, since I had lost my only one, added a back up key Fob and that includes coming to my house. Everybody else’s prices were anywhere is from $400 to $500 and of course the dealer was $462 and that was just for one key fob. so I highly recommend “A Cheaper Locksmith.”

Justin was the tech who worked on my broken truck ignition. It wasn't an easy job. He ended up needing to go back into the shop to complete the job, telling me he'd be back in the morning to install. First off, I typically do not leave reviews, good or bad. However, I was so impressed with the job that Rob did for me that I felt compelled to share my experience. I had lost the key to my Jeep Wrangler and one locksmith had already been out to try to make a replacement key. I was told that the key for the ignition was different then the key to the door and that I needed to replace the ignition. I called A Cheaper Locksmith, and based on the information that I was previously provided, they also said that I would in fact have to have a new ignition. Their cost was quite a bit cheaper so I went ahead and had them come out. Rob called and let me know that he was 20 minutes out, and for the first time that I can remember, he actually arrived in 20 min. I explained the situation to Rob, and he apologized and told me that I had a transponder key and the cost to replace the ignition and make a key was going to be $35 more than I was quoted. I wasn't happy but what was I going to do? He went ahead and made a key for the door, and low and behold, he sat in the driver's seat and turned over the ignition. I feel like most people would have simply changed the ignition, charged me more, and went about their way. But Rob went above and beyond by checking to see if the information that I had gotten was correct, and by doing so created a customer for life. Not only did I not have to replace the ignition, I didn't have to pay the inflated amount, and he he saved me 20% of the originally quoted amount. Rob's attention to detail and expertise, turned what might have been a negative experience due to the adjusted price, into one that I felt the need to share. Because of this, I would never think about calling another company when the need for a locksmith arises in the future. Thanks Rob!

If I could give these guys more than 5 stars, I would. I was out for a walk and locked myself out of my home. It was 100 degrees and I had my 3 year old in a stroller. They told me to walk to a cool store near my complex and that they would call when they arrive. I got a call 5 minutes later saying they were there. I hadn't made it to the store yet!!!! I had looked at using them before when I lost my friend's car key but I couldn't use them because AAA wouldn't take them...They Should. Jay and Kim are some of the best people you'll ever met. Plus everyone knows everything about any and every type of lock. I had to get 2 spare car keys cut and they had them done in less than 3 minutes. And the price I paid was beyond fair. It doesn't matter what type of lock/key issue you have, they can take care of it for you. I will be doing business with them again and I can tell you, as a Insurance Agent, there aren't that many good locksmiths out there but this is clearly one of them. They are the Best!!!
