A narrative of the experience: I lost my car keys to my electronically protected car. I called Mike's on a Thursday. Mike said he would try and fit me in the next day. Showed up exactly on time, I myself was late getting to my car by about 15 mins. I didn't have much data but Mike figured out what type of key and settings were needed based on my engine type. Had two keys cut in 45 mins. One backup for the door and a working transponder key for everything else. Started right up and no problems. Total cost: way less than the dealer. Mike also was a great professional throughout the whole process. Highly recommend!

Excellent communication. There were issues from a job he was working that delayed mine, but he communicated the delays to me so I wasn't waiting around and that's all that I can ask. My key fob to a 2011 Chevy Malibu with Autostart was shot. Dealership wanted about $200 for new keyfob and reprogramming. Mike's referred me to a site to buy the key fob myself, bought a "b class" key fob for $45 including shipping, had Mike's program quickly and was out for about $80 bucks total for key fob and programming and it took them about 5 minutes to program (granted he had a cancellation so I didn't have to wait). AND he was incredibly nice, suggested that I use the key in the lock regularly so if the key fob goes out again, the manual lock works. Apparently the grease the car makers use can cause those to freeze up just when you need them to work. Who else would actually tell you how to go about NOT using their service. We'll be using them for our house if we ever need anything and I'll be calling them if we have issues at our business.

Guy on the phone was very rude and short with me. When I complained to the lock smith whom said he was the owner all he replied with was, "that happens." No apology or anything. I will not be using this company again or recommending them to friends/family. When you own a business it is your job to make the customer happy and take ownership of your employees.

He helped us out of a very stressful and difficult situation with my daughter's (U of Iowa student) car by applying extraordinary customer service and expertise in a field that has become exponentially more complex since the days when a hardware store could cut a new key. He worked to get my daughter back on the road as inexpensively as possible while explaining the issues and processes thoroughly and understandably. With two daughters at the university, I will sleep more easily knowing if similar issues ever arise that Mike's will take good care of us. Life saver!!!! 2 lost chip keys in 2 days n left my son's car stranded. He went the extra mile to create, program, and deliver the key from the vehicles location! You never know how important a spare key is, until you lose the spare....plan ahead n get chip keys before you need them!!!
