My vehicle key case had cracked and made turning it in the ignition almost impossible. I needed a replacement! While the dealership offers this service, it is two hours away in Des Moines and their quote was quite expensive. I was told by a friend that John’s Lock and Key might have a solution. The staff immediately recognized my dilemma and were able cut a new key and move the transponder from the old key to the new. The process took only a few minutes, and their price was so much lower than the dealership. The staff were both friendly and knowledgeable, sharing upkeep and information that was useful and specific to my vehicle. They even knew to ask if my transponder was due for a battery change. I’m glad to offer a highly positive review based upon my experience, and look forward to using and recommending their services in the future.

Reprogrammed a new set of Fob keys we got from Amazon relatively quickly. Tried to upsell us into using other more expansive keys stating what we got usually stopped working relatively quickly, but the Amazon reviews that we carefully went through seem to say otherwise. We'll eat Crow and up to 5 stars if proven wrong.

If you need a duplicate key for your late model vehicle call these guys (as opposed to a dealership). Zimmerman Ford required an appointment and was 'booked out' 2 weeks. The explanation was that the 45 minute procedure required scheduling of a technician. John's Lock and Key took 15 minutes and I was able to make a quick call to ensure someone was available and stopped in that afternoon. And for about $10 less!

Lost my only car key and I thought that I needed a key with the computer chip in it.... I did not just the original key to my car. Kinda pricy @ $50 bucks for a regular ole key. But in their defense it's about that price everywhere. Doesn't make it easier to spend that much on a key though!!! The customer service was great and that does make it a lil easier to spend that much on the key!!!

My 16 year old son accidentally cut off your van on his way home and the two men driving it trailed him home and even pulled into the driveway right after he did. He shut the garage door quickly and the two men sat outside our house for 5 minutes. This is not proper business etiquette! Something must be done! What were those men plan on doing to my son who made a simple driving error?! This is ridiculous! I will never be doing business with John Lock and Key.

i cant thank them enough! My puppy locked herself in our truck and they came right out with in 20 mins of our phone call to them. They didnt charge us an arm and leg! the price was more than fair! It was on Sunday also. Thank you guys so much for you fast and speedy help Sunday.
