I used them at my last job and they were very nice and helpful but the past few visits either in person or on the phone have been cold and outright rude. I would love to support them because they are a local business but customer service is a large part of running your business and I can find much better somewhere else.

I lost the keys to my Yakima rocket box a year ago. I couldn’t get the lock core out with the removal key. I managed to go all winter skiing without accidentally locking it. Like an idiot, I accidentally did lock it today. I came to Baldwin and they had it picked, lock core removed to get the number and two new keys made in less than 20 minutes. It cost less than half of what I thought it would. Super stoked!

Bobby arrived quickly (less than 15 minutes) to my stranded car (I locked my keys in the car) and within 10 minutes had the car opened. He knew the quirks of unlocking the type of car that I have, which was very comforting. I paid with a credit card in the parking lot and was on my way. Very efficient, polite, and competent service.Highly recommend.

My mother-in-law arrived home this evening and couldn't get in her house. Her door handle mechanism had been giving her trouble so she bought a new one but it hadn't been installed yet. We called Baldwin and employee Christopher Blessing was promptly here and removed the door handle, got my mother-in-law in her home and installed the new door handle. Great service. I had locks changed on my doors out of fear for my safety. A deadbolt broke while they were changing the locks. I called repeatedly and it still took over TWO weeks for them to come back out and fix the broken deadbolt. I will not use Baldwin again.

Very disappointed, awful service! I called Baldwin to help me get into my house because I had locked myself out. They came in about 25 minutes, but the employee had either forgotten the lock gun or his wasn't working, so he had to try to rig my door lock manually, with what looked like two hair pins. The process usually takes 5 minutes (as verified by him) so you would think after 15-20 minutes, he would call a coworker for reinforcement. I suggested he call a coworker, and he nodded but didn't call anybody. He proceeded to continue to try to open my door for an hour. I had my 2-year-old son with me and time was of the essence. He was not sensitive to this. When we finally got in the house (the solution did NOT involve him actually unlocking a door!), he gave me the bill. I asked "Are you going to give me a discount since it took an hour?" and he said "I gave you a $5 discount." I couldn't believe it. A 10% discount. I still paid $45. I also own my own business and if I delivered such terrible service, I would never charge my client. I reported my disappointment to the company via their contact form on their website, and never heard back. I just noticed that they cashed my check. What terrible customer service!

Fantastic service from new owner! Looking over the other reviews for Baldwin Lock & Key won't do much good since Clint, from A Busy Bee Lock & Key, recently bought the business. For a better idea of service look at the reviews for A Busy Bee and you'll definitely see an overwhelming number of 5 star reviews. I was so impressed with my service from Clint that I posted reviews under both businesses. For those who want/need to save time my other review is copied below: Great! Great! Great! I can only reiterate what all the other 5 star reviews have stated. Service was fast, affordable, accomodating, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I'd give a solid star for performance on each of those traits but 5 stars will have to do. Clint was top notch and has recently bought Baldwin Lock & Key. I'm so happy and pleased with his service that I'm going to post a second review under Baldwin Lock & Key to get the word out. From now on, Clint's my locksmith and I'm going to refer everyone over to him.

Some employee of this company, while working on my neighbor's door, decided it was ok to take MY personal plant pot, without permission, and use it to prop open the door, while working in the neighbor's house! I am actively cultivating a plant in this pot, and do not want it damaged by some random person, simply because they lack consideration for the property and boundaries of others. Plus, the world is not his personal playground, to just carry out whatever cotton-headed idea that pops into his skull, nearby objects are not his, to take and do what he pleases with it! i cannot believe i even have to utter those words, in regards to an adult, this is a kindergarten level of abstraction, social and emotional intelligence and standard of ethics! Next time, ask permission, or, even better, as a locksmith, this cannot be the first hydraulic door you've run across, have the creativity to come up with your own door-holding device. That way, you bring it with you on jobs and do not have to resort to the theft and vandalism of property that doesn't belong to you. See how little brain power it took, for someone not even working in that field, to potentially solve that problem?

I am so impressed by the owner and this company. Baldwin Lock and Key did a superior job - were timely, polite, efficient, respectful, and made sure I could open the doors and turn the keys with ease and all for a fair price. They did not want to leave until I was totally satisfied and all the issues had been addressed. I needed to have my keyed lock repaired as I just could not get the key out of the lock or turn the key without terrible effort and pain. I called Baldwin Lock & Key and the owner returned my call promptly on both my contact numbers and it was almost 6 pm! Other companies I tried would not pick up after 4:45 pm! The owner came exactly at the time he promised. He not only fixed the lock on my one door which had been poorly re-keyed by another company but also made it much, much easier to open the front door by fixing the lock, tightening the wood piece below and putting the handles on in the right direction which had been put on the wrong way by the company who installed the key pad lock and re-keyed the other locks. They were a company that had hundreds of reviews which is why I called them but they overcharged me, were not responsive, and did not do a good job. I suffered opening and closing the doors and turning and pulling the key out and when I asked them to fix it they told me to call a handyman. They knew I had bad arm and wrist injuries and yet they did nothing to stand behind their work and help me.

Unfortunate experience. Charged a 20.00 dispatch fee without any verbal notification or other method of notification that a customer will render this fee by calling for services. When I asked for a place where this fee may be stated, I was told it was not available. I was told to pay or it will go to collections. It was an extremely unfortunate & unpleasant experience.

This is who you should call if you need a new set of keys! Randy just came out to program a Honda key since I lost mine. She was super helpful and it was very quick. The keys work and since the programming was less than she anticipated she lowered the price! Thanks Randy for your all your help and honesty!

Calling yourself an emergency service doesn't give you the right to speed.* Unprofessional. Likes to drive company vehicle WAY over the speed limit. 15-20 over. It doesn't matter what they were responding to, don't risk the lives of other drivers. Some drivers have children/babies with them. Does this company have permission to speed? Prove it.* If you do have the right to speed get a siren, and get lights.* If the company vehicles has sirens and lights, use them.*

We had just closed escrow on our new home and needed it rekeyed quickly as we were leaving town. Ian Ashby of Baldwin Lock & Key, Boise came out to the property within a couple of hours. Ian swiftly and efficiently rekeyed the house and the barn. Thoughtfully, Ian stamped the keys for the barn with a B so that we could distinguish them from the house keys. I would not have thought of that. So thank you Baldwin Lock and Key and especially to Ian who was so good to work with.
