A&B Lock and Key is a great place to get keys made and to call any time of the night or day if you lock yourself out of your house or car. They have been in business forever and are very trustworthy and reasonable.

The guy was rude and wouldn't do what my wife asked for. Told her no when she asked for an air force key. Then wouldn't make a pad lock key with blue on it. I would never recommend this place and it should be shut down

I called them up this morning after talking to most of the other locksmiths in Boise (many of which were rude and unhelpful) trying to get a key cut for my '77 Kawasaki Z650. I had lost the key and figured out that locksmiths can create keys based on the code etched into the lock barrel. I called up A & B and the lady on the phone was incredibly helpful and courteous. Said they had the key blanks in stock and could cut them. $15 for the first and $3 for each additional. I got three made and was out the door in less than 10 minutes. I have their business card and will be calling on them for all of my lock needs from here on out. Great business. Two thumbs up!

Just had a A&B lock and key van vere over into my lane on the overpass in boise causing me to lock up and jackknife my trailer. When I called and spoke to them on the phone regarding my load being damaged the guy on the phone could care less and told ME to be more careful next time. COMPLETELY unprofessional and rude. DO NOT give these guys your business! If they don't care who they run off the road then how can you trust them?

Let me say right off, I don't enjoy giving anyone less than 4 stars, but this business really deserves the rating as far as I'm concerned. I went to A & B Lock and Key to have another chipped key made for my Ford. I called first and was told it would be $25, I even repeated it back, saying that $25 wasn't bad at all, and I'd be right down. I went in and handed the guy (I didn't get his name) my (obviously) chipped key. He turned around and took a metal key blank to duplicate it on. I told him I needed the chipped key and he said that would be $75. I was floored for a few seconds...I said I thought was told $25 on the phone. He just said no, that it was $75 and he didn't have the time to do it anyway, they were closing in a few minutes. I didn't argue, that kind of customer service didn't deserve my business anyway. I called another locksmith shop, who told me $75 up front and took great care of me, as they always have.

Why does every keysmith place seem like an abandoned NRA meeting room? Is it a rule that to be a keysmith you have to have the dingiest run-down shop you can find? It's not just this one -- others I've been in are the same. Still, they do what you need them to do. I'd advise NOT wearing an LGBTQ pride or Obama shirt here, though.

I went in to get two car keys cut and one of them programmed. The machine to cut the key wasnt in the store that day so I had to come back another day. They can only get vallet keys for Honda so i had to purchase my own keys and bring them in. The key that was cut and programmed works good but the key that was only cut wont go into the ignition. They said they arent sure why it wont go in, but they still made me pay $10 to have the key cut even though its useless to me. I would definitely avoid this place...if they cut a key and it doesnt work then you shouldn't have to pay. Now im out for the price of the key plus $10 to cut it and i dont have a key that works.

For programming a chipped car key, A & B wanted 3 times as much as Anytime on Fairview. While the proprietor seemed knowledgeable, their price and sales tactics were ... disappointing.

I just bought a car and got a good deal, so I was in a good mood when i pulled up in front of A&B. I walked in and told him I needed some keys made and gave him the key to the car I needed made. He scoffed ( i wish i could describe his demeanor better) and asked how many. I answered. He shrugged his shoulders like I was an idiot and asked, what kind of car. I answered. He shrugged his shoulders again like I'm withholding all kinds of information from him and said......and does it have a chip. I said I didn't know that I was hoping he could tell me. He asked me what year it was, again, like he can't believe I haven't told him yet. It was at this point that I realized I could get a key made elsewhere and not have to put up with being talked down to. I took my key and left.

Just had a run in with the guy driving the A&B Lock and Key service van. He's EXTREMELY RUDE and was screaming profanities in front of about 15 adults and tons of children. People in the neighborhood were scared to death of this guy. Just my opinion, he seems like the kind of guy to cut an extra key for himself. Trash just trash.......
