Both of the key fobs to my 2012 Honda Odyssey were falling apart and after going to a dealership and doing extensive research online about getting replacement keys, I decided to go with the crew at American Lock and Key. My experience began with a phone call when I asked them what I was looking for and if they could help me out. I was informed they could indeed assist me and after ordering the specific parts I needed they gave me a phone call and I drove out to their shop to have them cut my new vehicle keys. I was in the shop less than ten minutes and was met with the nicest, most courteous staff one could hope to expect from any business in today's world. Competence. Courtesy. Professionalism. And above all...fair pricing!! I got TWO replacement vehicle fobs and the combined cost was far less than what the dealership quoted me for ONE key fob! I mean, it wasn't even close! Do yourself a favor and NEVER go to a car dealership again, instead give your business to the folks at American Lock and Key to service all your vehicle replacement key needs!

Great customer service from the first phone call. I had a new fob I bought on my own to be programmed. Every other place I called, including the dealership, gave me such a hard time about not buying it though them. They cut and programmed a new key for my '09 Subaru Forester. They has warned me that aftermarket keys are hit and miss with the programming, but if it didn't work then I am not liable for the ruined ($30) key blank. It worked great, was cheaper than the dealership and only took 10 minutes. Highly recommend.

Get a TOTAL price before they even come! I locked my keys in my car on the morning I needed to be at the airport and, American was the quickest that could come and open my car. He looked in my car for a minute and, quoted me $155. $155!!!!!!! I didn't have the time to argue with him so, I had him do it. He got my car open in a matter of minutes and, I would say his total time was not even 10 minutes. All said and done, I was charged $185 for 10 minutes of his time. Good work. HORRIBLE cost!

I had a door lock from the inside of the house to the garage that stuck - we were unable to turn the key or pull it out. I removed the lock and brought it to American Lock & Key - they removed the key, cleaned up with lock and things worked perfectly. They didn't charge to remove the key or clean the lock and even offered me a bottle of cold water! Very professional office and I will call them if I ever need lock services at my house. As a side note, I actually called another locksmith who I found on Google, they didn't have any technicians in the office and referred me to American Lock & Key!

I lost the keys to my motorcycle, and all I had was the key code card as a reference. The manufacturer told me in an email that the key code card is all I needed to replicate a new key. After visiting every motorcycle dealer in the area, as well as some auto shops know for key cloning/programming keys, my bike was at risk of becoming a 400lb paper weight. American Lock and Key went above and beyond when everyone else I visited wouldn't even try. Cutting a new key proved to be more complicated than the manufacturer lead me to believe. But with a little input from me and a whole lot of online research, American Lock and Key was able to cross reference information from a number of different sources to make me a new key. American Lock and Key was able to get me on the road just as riding season started up. I am beyond impressed with their knowledge and ability.

If you have a residential problem, don't expect them to schedule a repair for your issue. My experience was they took my call, listened to my problem, and said they would call back to schedule the repair which they didn't. That was two weeks ago! I couldn't open my front entrance because of a jammed lock which would be a safety issue if there was a fire. I called Bob's Lock & Safe and got prompt and excellent service.

First of all, American Lock & Key did NOT pay me for this review. They earned it with good old fashioned customer service, honesty and integrity. My key FOB for my car stopped working. I went to McGeorge Ford and they told me that the only way they could fix it would be to replace the key for almost $400.00! I went in to American Lock and Key, and they sold me a secondary device that took the place of my key FOB for just $15.00. They saved me $385.00! Even a replacement key would have been around $175.00 I think. These guys are completely awesome and professional, they 100% know exactly what they are doing. I had them cut and match an electronic key I bought off of Amazon. It isn't an easy process but they made it work and got it right. Going to these guys and having them do this saved me at least $250 over going to the dealership to have the same thing done. Please be respectful to them and realize the equipment they use is very specific and expensive. They need to charge a fair price to recover their costs and earn a living. I was charged about $125 to have two keys cut and paired to my car, the Subaru dealership would have been $350-$400 for two keys. I've been to them twice and I wouldn't even consider going anyplace else.

The technician sent to me was not only rude and racist toward me, but my spouse as well. When he initially came, he had an attitude. I offered him water and he ignored me. Took him 2 1/2 hours to unlock my car. Granted, he may have been frustrated, but this is his job. When my spouse asked if he was okay, he immediately began arguing with her. I asked her to stop, and he responded, verbatim, “ yes little girl, shut up.” Little did he know, she was recording the entire time! Fair price, horrible customer service Mr. Wilson! Oh and to top it off, every time I spoke with him on the phone, he hung up on me and DRAINED my brand new car battery! Great service. I recently purchased a 30 year old vehicle, and the only key that came with it was worn and rounded over, to the point of falling out of the ignition with the engine running. Rather than just duplicate the messed up key and hope it works (like big box stores), the tech took the time to decode the key and cut copies to the original spec. He even lubed up my locks, ignition, and a door hinge that had been binding open while I was at the register. Copies work better than my original and won't fall out the ignition! These guys clearly take pride in their work, and went out of their way to help me even though I only bought three keys. Totally satisfied customer.

I recently bought a used Chevy Suburban and it only had 1 remote key fob, and I needed to get a second remote. I called the local Chevy dealer and they said that just to program the new remote (not including the cost of the actual remote) it would be over $100. Someone recommended that I call American Lock and Key instead and I am glad that I did. They were super helpful in confirming which key remote I needed to get for my car, and they were happy to order for me or let me order it myself. I got the part myself and they were able to program the new remote to my car in about 15 minutes. I didn't need to make an appointment, I just came by when they were open, and they helped me right away! And on top of all of that, it only cost $45 for them to program the remote. I was very happy with the entire experience. The staff is laid back, calm and helpful. I would highly recommend American Lock & Key!

I stopped in to have a new key cut (no programming needed) with a key I purchased online for my Honda. While the gentleman upfront was nice, it took exactly 1 hour to have my keys guts transferred to my new key and the new key cut. I was the only customer in the store. After spending $40 and a hour wait to have one key cut, I must admit I was pretty disappointed.

I was in the market for a duplicate truck key and stopped in to get one cut thinking that I'd have to get it programmed at the dealership, but they said they could program it there for less! Josh came out to my truck and hooked up a machine and after about ten minutes my Ford truck now has three working keys! They were super professional and tested the keys. They even cut and programmed the blank I bought on eBay for only five extra bucks! Saved me at least 200 bucks compared to what the dealer was going to charge. Absolutely worth 5 stars I was in town, stopping on my way to Canada less than a month ago to meet my Long estranged Auntie to get back a box of old baby picutre of my family that she squandered away after my great great grandmother passed away almost a decade ago. Needless to say, she felt it was important to snag ANYTHING that wasn't nailed down at her house in La Crosse before running to the great white north with her husband (I won't call him my Uncle) that looks EXACTLY like the guy from Rush. Of course she took the box labeled "family photos" and caused My mother heartache when we went to find them while stacking up old memories. While I was getting gas just south of the border, i mistakenly locked my keys in the car, causing a frantic string of events that could only be classified as "eerie" To be honest, I really didn't want the picutres but when your mother asks for soemthing like this you GOT to do it. Well, I'm standing in the rain (it's always raining or snowinv in Wisconsin) watching my gas gadge slowly chime from almost empty to completely dead. Phone safely tucked into the passenger seat and radio BLARING circa 2000 boy bands casually keeping me mortified to be standing next to the car and I realize I've locked myself out of the car. Panic sets in quickly as I try to find my wallet and phone, luckily the wallet was in my Levis brand (tm) khaki cargo shorts and I was able to go inside the small convience store and this ABSOLUTELY fabulous clerk by the name of Phyllis was able to let me use her personal cell phone ( which was super nice of her since she said she only had 15 mins left on her Walmart air card and with the power being shoddy due to the weather, I knew she was doing me a solid) but any who, i tried calling AAA (my insurance company) to see how long a lock out service would be and they quoted me 4 hours! We'll NO SIR E Bob was that gonna fly. So using Phyllis's last few mins, i walked around the liquor half shelfs like I was on hold with them, and Called information to find out any local lock out services Please try surprised to hear from the above company and could be out in less an 20 mins as they where so close! This locksmith establishment is not only professional and customer service oriented but also extremely knowledgeable in their field. I had an issue with a 2004 Honda Accord ignition switch lock cylinder. The dealer didn’t offer that particular part. They did however offer the entire ignition switch along with two uncut keys that had to be cut and reprogrammed for $500 plus dollars. I spoke with one of the locksmiths and he came up with a solution that was a fraction of the dealers cost. As long as this establishment is in existence and if I ever need any thing else done by a locksmith again, I won’t hesitate to call these guys. There aren’t enough stars to rate them in my opinion. My boyfriend broke his key off in the door knob and the landlords were out of town. He called in to American Lock & Key and they gave him the best option that would be the most cost effective for him to resolve the issue. We simply took the door knob off and brought it in on a Saturday. It took less than 5 minutes to have the broken key removed and a new key made. They only charged us $5.00 and thoroughly explained how to put the door knob back on when we returned home. Thank you so much for the cheap and fast service! I lost my car and house keys while on a trip cross country. I went to a dealer in another state to have a laser cut key made from my vehicle VIN. I paid major $$$ for a basic key (no fob/programming) so that I could get back into my vehicle at the airport and drive the 2+ hours home. I got to my car and this very expensive “dealer made” key did not work!! I had to rent a car to drive home and then return the next day with my secondary key. I searched for local car dealers who can make keys on site and found a listing for American Lock & Key and that they make AUTO keys. I talked to Max who positively assured me that he can make me a key, not charge me a fortune and that it will 100% work!!! I went in and spent less than 10 minutes and had a total of 4 keys made for way less than the price I paid the dealer for 1 key! Max even mapped the key I purchased from the dealer and came back with a completely different code than the one my VIN gives to make a duplicate. I had no idea that my laser cut key, basic or fob/programmed, could be made by anyone other than the dealer and the dealer certainly won’t tell you that either. American Lock & Key is awesome, fast, courteous and very affordable. You won’t be disappointed with them!!!

Locked my keys in the car so shopped around and then called this place. They tell you 29.00 to show up and service starting from 19.00 so I figured 50.00 to 75.00 would be the max. And they offered me 10% off as new customer. Well the 19.00 turned into 95.00 and took less than a minute to open door. Total with Supposed 10% off was 135.00 So what services is 19.00?? Should have paid the 29 and sent him on his way. ( would have at least saved $20) My opinion total rip off. He said he was giving me a break because he was late and it’s usually 175.00 and up plus the 29.00. Call someone who gives you an upfront price. Such As “Pop a lock” they charge 74.00 flat fee. My mistake for trying to go cheep.

Absolutely worth 5 stars I was in town, stopping on my way to Canada less than a month ago to meet my Long estranged Auntie to get back a box of old baby picutre of my family that she squandered away after my great great grandmother passed away almost a decade ago. Needless to say, she felt it was important to snag ANYTHING that wasn't nailed down at her house in La Crosse before running to the great white north with her husband (I won't call him my Uncle) that looks EXACTLY like the guy from Rush. Of course she took the box labeled "family photos" and caused My mother heartache when we went to find them while stacking up old memories. While I was getting gas just south of the border, i mistakenly locked my keys in the car, causing a frantic string of events that could only be classified as "eerie" To be honest, I really didn't want the picutres but when your mother asks for soemthing like this you GOT to do it. Well, I'm standing in the rain (it's always raining or snowinv in Wisconsin) watching my gas gadge slowly chime from almost empty to completely dead. Phone safely tucked into the passenger seat and radio BLARING circa 2000 boy bands casually keeping me mortified to be standing next to the car and I realize I've locked myself out of the car. Panic sets in quickly as I try to find my wallet and phone, luckily the wallet was in my Levis brand (tm) khaki cargo shorts and I was able to go inside the small convience store and this ABSOLUTELY fabulous clerk by the name of Phyllis was able to let me use her personal cell phone ( which was super nice of her since she said she only had 15 mins left on her Walmart air card and with the power being shoddy due to the weather, I knew she was doing me a solid) but any who, i tried calling AAA (my insurance company) to see how long a lock out service would be and they quoted me 4 hours! We'll NO SIR E Bob was that gonna fly. So using Phyllis's last few mins, i walked around the liquor half shelfs like I was on hold with them, and Called information to find out any local lock out services Please try surprised to hear from the above company and could be out in less an 20 mins as they where so close!
