As a reply to Dan's response: As in my initial review, I acknowledged your strengths: responsiveness, availability, and speed. Not trying to take away those. I commend you for them. You just need to work on price transparency. That is important.

I was locked out of my apartment pretty late at night and they came by and got me in pretty easily. He had all the tools to not damage the door and get me in without stress. I was pretty much a mess when I called. He's a nice guy and honored the price he told me over the phone. I have definitely had bad experiences with Star Locksmith Philadelphia who tell you a price over the phone and then rip you off in person. Star Locksmith Philadelphia helped me out and if I'm ever in this situation again, I know who to call.

All I have to say is thank you Idan!!! You saved my partner and I from a nightmare night. We had just been tricked by some terrible predatory services previous to calling Star Locksmith. I thought we were going to have to camp out in our stairwell. Instead I called this place. Thankfully Idan was very honest and helpful. The call, wait time, and service was done within 30 minutes!! Very unprofessional. Predatory practices, I can't say enough about this group of con artists. They use your unfortunate circumstances to make up their own rules, knowing you'll comply because you're desperate to get back in you home or car. The one positive is that I got back into my car, and I have a temporary key(will still need to purchase the real deal from the dealer). The locksmith was rude and condescending, as if I am not supposed to ask about what I'm paying for. Charged me the service call fee that was supposed to be waived. said they did not accept my payment method although their website said they did. Don't think you can call customer service, nope. The dispatchers are the locksmiths, and they each seem to do their own thing, and are useless when it comes to service recovery. ***They do not accept AMEX, although the website says they do. They will claim the AMEX system is down - LIE. I'm sure they stopped accepting it because they probably received a lot of disputes from AMEX cardholders and lost.*** ***Dispatch said the $19 service fee is waived if you actually have the locksmith perform the services. The locksmith will charge it regardless. When you call dispatch, they will again tell you the fee is waived; however, when you tell him you were charged, does not offer any resolution.*** ***If you mention the 15% discount stated on the website, the driver will manufacture additional fees, and then drop the price by $5.***

I broke my one and only transponder key for my car last night and when I called the company, I don't know where these guys are located really but the dispatcher sent someone to my house within 20 minutes of me calling. The price was a lot more reasonable than what the dealer had told me when I was trying to get this done before the key broke, so it really worked out for me. Hopefully I won't need a locksmith service again but if I do, I'd call this company!!!

I never write reviews but had to because of their horrible customer service. The locksmith that come was very rude and service was bad!!! I called and they said they would be 55 minutes. After waiting an hour I called to see what the delay was. They said I never confirmed and that it would be another hour!! I waiting 2 hour for a service that took 5 minutes and cost 575$ to open the door!!!!!!!!

Do not use this company if you need quality work done. Lost my key for my classic car so I went through my insurance for a locksmith. They found this company and said they'll be here within the hour. The company calls and ask if it's okay to come in the morning because it's getting dark. I said thats fine since I'm off anyway. Red flag goes up but I ignored it. Anyway, the guy comes when said works on my car calls me out tell me to check and make sure the key works. I do it. He calls my insurance company "to put on record cuz it's an old car and ppl have made claims before against him" that the work is done and everything is fine. I pay my portion with tip and go back into the house. Later, I jump in my car and notice my passenger side door panel isn't on right. Riding down the road it bugs me so I reach over and hit the switch for the locks.. Doesnt work. So now I'm heated knowing that he did this work and thought he was slick. I go get spares made. I see the outside of the lock looks like he tried to use pliers or something to pull the lock out. I try my new door key on the passenger side door and the lock falls apart around the key. I can still use the key but it's a deep dark hole there which to me looks like it would make thieves think it's an easy target. It's plenty of locksmiths to choose from.. Don't choose this one.
