I can't believe people have given this company positive reviews. I used this company to change the locks on my new home in Carle Place. Since I was not living in the home, I scheduled a specific time for them to come and do the work. I was running early for my appointment so I passed by the office to see if they could come earlier and to also see if they had something else I needed. The locksmith was eating his breakfast and appeared in no rush to get to my house. He told me as soon as he was done he would meet me there. He ended up getting to my house an hour and a half late. So much for making an appointment.... He then had to return to the office before he could finish my job and disappeared for about an hour...In the mean time, I grew tired of waiting and left my wife at the house while I went and picked up something from Lowes. Murphy's Law, the guy came back and finished the job literally 5 minutes before I made it back. My wife called me up and said the guy is waiting to get paid and is annoyed that I wasn't there. I came back to the house and the locksmith asked me if I was paying with cash or check. I told him I prefer to use my credit card. At this point he got angry and said if he knew I was paying with credit card he wouldn't have waited the 5 minutes for me to return and I could have called the office. Now the gloves came off, and I sarcastically apologized about him having to wait and thanked him for showing up an hour and a half late and then disappearing for an hour... he stormed out of my home. Later I did get a call from the office, ( they wanted to get paid) I complained about their tardiness and their locksmiths attitude, he apologized but was more then happy to take my credit card info and charge me the more then $200 bucks to change 2 locks.... well the story doesn't end there. The locks their genius locksmith changed stopped opening with the keys they gave me after a week. I scheduled another appointment, they ended up cancelling on me last minute saying they were stuck doing another job and we rescheduled.... they then ended up showing up late for the rescheduled appointment. This was my first home purchased, and I made the mistake of thinking that a local locksmith would be more then happy to try and establish a good relationship with a new neighbor. Stay away from this company, they overcharge and have no respect for their clients schedule.

I contacted Install-A-Lock to replace our 70 year old front door mortise lock with a new Baldwin lock set. They were able to send their technician, Gus, on short notice the same day. Gus was friendly and competent. Installation required some work and modification to the door because the original holes were not quite what they needed to be to fit the lock. He was careful and patient and got all the pieces to fit properly. I’m grateful.
