GetARate Pros: Intuitive and easy online application with the home buying process explained and simplified, the contact points and assistance is unparalleled. Cons: Once during the entire process I had some issues logging online to view the status. On February 12th I started the profile process with Scott Cummings. He helped to set up the initial log on and explained the information needed and why it was needed. We discussed my current situation and we explored ideas and options. We inspected concepts of conventional loans, 203(k) loans, FHA loans, single family homes, two-family homes, homes in flood zones, condominiums, and more. He explained timeframes, mortgage options, the outside mortgage activities (attorney review, inspections, etc.), and made me feel comfortable with every aspect. He thoroughly explained the different steps of the process as they occurred and helped to get me started by proactively collecting information that would be needed. This helped to accelerate my application acceptance time significantly. By the end of the day he had the information requested and I had a confirmation that he had received them and was getting started. My mortgage process started on March 20 and I closed on May 2; this is almost precisely what he detailed to me on our first talk. Scott and his team kept their promise to help me through the entire process. Being a first time homebuyer is a daunting task in itself, but having the GetARate team on my side made it much easier. Any time I had an issue or a worry, Scott was there to help guide me. I value the relationship and credit him for his diligence. Overall my experience with GetARate and Scott was stellar. Between trying to collect information, submitting paperwork, contacting different mortgage process individuals, they were there with me the entire way. They have dissected, defined, and refined the process of mortgages. I will be looking to them when I go for my second home.

Update 9/23/2016: I just completed a refinance with Danny and Get a Rate as I qualified for much lower interest rate. Again, working with Danny and his team was very easy and straightforward. The rates were competitive to current market rates and I have no complaints. I would definitely work with this group in the future! I worked with Danny at Get a Rate after being referred by my buyer, based on his experiences working with lenders. Danny and his team worked hard and were very prompt in responding to us, as well as staying on top of all of the necessary paperwork. Considering how generally frustrating the home buying process can be, I believe Danny helped make it as easy as possible, and about 90% of the paperwork was taken care of electronically. Even though actual face time was minimal, it helped that I could reach out to Danny at just about (almost) anytime when I had questions. Definitely do your research, but Get a Rate worked for my family for these reasons.

It was an okay experience to put it lightly. Before Greg Marsh went on vacation he gave me a 4.675% rate saying it was a low rate and wanted me to pay for origination fees. Another lender gave me 4.0% without any fees involved. It was CEO Michael Sema who had to step in while Greg was away and finally offer me a transparent rate with lender credits in order for me to stick with Get A Rate. If it was not for Michael's efforts and transparency, I would have had a different lender.

Daniel Valencia was the epitome of professionalism. From the moment we met for the first time he provided us with a level of service that I was not expecting. This was the smoothest Refi I have done. Get a Rate and Edwin worked with us daily to get the rate we wanted with the points we wanted to pay. We did this whole transaction over the phone and secure internet connections. I have never written a review before this, but I feel obligated based off of our experience. My fiance and I closed on our house a few weeks ago and I just had to write a review for my man Greg Marsh, because he was amazing. The entire process was seamless from attorney review to closing, and Greg was there with me every step of the way. He was unbelievebly accessible via text, email and phone and answered all of my questions, even when he wasn't on the clock. The most impressive part was how quick the turnaround was. They don't know what they're doing, they are highly disorganized and incompetent to the point where I felt they were taking advantage of me. They tried to remove a $3,000 credit I was promised, they asked for the exact same documents over and over. They take forever to return calls. They shouldn't be in business. Avoid them at all costs.
