We’ve had our business and personal accounts here for years and never had a problem. They are a fine credit union. Could they have gotten photo check deposits sooner? Yes. Could they have more efficient ATM operating systems? Yes. But I honestly have seen none of the behavior nor ineptitude that seems to be generating so many angry one-star reviews. I think people are being paid to trash the company.

This company started off great but the customer service has depleted and almost completely is non existent anymore It’s a shame that throughout the years the reputation of this credit union has plummeted— They do not communicate properly , are far behind with today’s technology, and do not call people back that have questions due to LACK OF COMMUNICATION. They are awful, rude, slow, disrespectful and pathic. The manager is the worse of all in the Farmington (Hills) branch. Customer service is not their focus. Not sure what is... They are lazy and have no regard for the shareholders.

Had really good luck at other credit union one branches but this one held a check for 7 days, after the check cleared the payers account. I may just move my account. Zero reason for that and they will not remedy the issue. Still on hold. Probably should post where I can but I see they have more 1 star ratings than anything. Maybe a branch management thing. The fish stinks from the head down.

Been on hold to ask a simple general question, for over 13 minutes before the call was answered. Employee was polite, but it did not make me feel better when he indicated they have been backed up like this for weeks. Sounds like they do not care enough about customers to respect our time and answer questions in a timely manner. Comerica allows you to call their branch offices directly and they always pick up. I thought credit unions were more focused on customer service, but I guess not...

Worst service EVER!!! The customer service rep in the call center had such a condescending attitude. I requested the branches direct number she refused to give it to me. I wish I could give less than one star. They will never receive my business or the business of any person I talk to.

This branch has only two ATMs, neither of them accept cash, and they have both been known to be down at the same time. Also, the staff at the front door have their head down in a computer instead of welcoming members as they walk in.

I have left this credit union because the customer service is so poor. I do not understand this institution exists. Even if you try the automated system, you will suffer long wait, confusing options and excuses. One rep answered on one incident after I waited a 1/2 hour on hold, then hung up on me. They are only interested in capturing your money in exchange for ghetto customer service. I switched to Huntington Bank - They are quick, have auto loans that auto dealers seek after because of their rates. You can call Huntington bank after midnight and they still have customer service available. I do not know how this place exists with such sub par, horrible, inexcusable customer service. This is a real review

Opened my account in March 2015 prior to an upgrade of their banking systems. The upgrade is still NOT a success months later. Although normal transfers work online, setting up automatic transfers still do not work and if you make frequent transactions, you have to take time off work to go in and have someone set this up for you. The ATM machines are down on a regular basis. Also, while standing in ATM line I watched a member ahead of me try to deposit two checks. He could only deposit one, then I proceeded to deposit a check with no problems. Then he asked me if I was having difficulty with the ATM as well. You can imagine I'm not the only one scratching my head. Banking should not be this difficult. Banks make money off our deposits. They should at least offer quality service.

Terrible customer service over the phone. I had a few questions about my accounts that I have with them. I decided to call because I was unable to find answers online. I spoke to Angela and she was very rude and sarcastic. Obviously they don't care about there customers so I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Communication skills are null after they sign you up. If you have a loan you better not have any excuses for being late... just pay! You never get same person to talk to, or return calls. Looking for a place to take care of you... keep looking!

I started a checking account yesterday there. Its a really nice place and everyone was super friendly. Overall very happy I picked this place. The only reason why I put 4 stars instead of 5 was because I thought it was kinda funny that there TVs and computers look like the first ever made. But oh well not a major issue.

So I had a business account which had someone try to fraud me using a ACH. I told cr Union close acct and take the money over well instead they allow the fake company steal my money than when the company tried to take a big amt which I did not have that type of money they charges me two 30 fees than closed my acct and charge me a fee to close my acct. So its bad enough I had someone stealing from me than the cr union stealing from me as well. I went to main branch was made to wait over a hour than spoke to someone and they said someone will call me and lady called me and said sorry sir but the fees are valid. Beware of this cr union I had poor cust service before and they not cared. FYI cr union still on old ATM as well.

This is the worst place I have ever done business with. Communication is horrible, I get different answers from every employee I talk to. They told me my loan autopay was set up but it wasn't and I got hit with late fees for missing the payment. I'm transferring my loan somewhere else as soon as possible.

Absolutely horrible company to do business with and horrible customer service. I have my car loan through Credit Union One. They falsely report your information to credit bureaus, and report the payments you make every 3 months. They changed my payment amount 3 times, not what I signed at the dealership. The person you talk to on the phone, well the next time you call that person doesn't exist!

I just went to pay my Tmobile bill and my card was declined multiple times. I decided to call my bank and figure out if it was my card or the Tmobile payments. They informed me many customers were affected from making debit card transactions as well as pulling money out at ATMs. This is because they are switching servers or something along those lines. There was no notice sent to members and no estimation on when the switch over will be finished or when members can use their debit cards again. I run a buisness and this is a serious problem. You need to notify members so they can be prepared. How many people are trying to purchase lunch right now like me and pay bills today and now cant unless the drive out and get money from the bank.

I wish I could put 0 stars!!! This financial establishment is a farce!!! I started an account when I started my new job and had so many issues just getting my debit card delivered. When I addressed the "ladies" at the detroit receiving hospital branch, they lacked common customer skills and general concern. They sent me on a rollercoaster ride for 2 months from post office to branch in circles because my debit kept getting sent back to the post office citing I don't live there when indeed changed my address 30 days before. I had to go 30 miles out of my way on public transit to get a card made. After that card got cut off for being a duplicate, I hiked again to get another card remade. Everything was fine until I get a letter from the big President of this joke of a bank. Its terminating my account because of my "threatening" behavior at the branch. I'm like thank you but f*** you at the same time because now I have to take me money and go through this whole process again but better than dealing with idiots and their lapdogs. You got time to draw up this letter because you butthurt a dissatisfied customer told you how dissatisfied they are. But I can't get my atm card in a sensible timeframe. No one should have to go through the asinine process I went through for a debit card. I'm better off though. Don't need no dummies handling my money. They're real basic.

I've been away without a computer and just my phone because sometimes this is necessary. Therefore I wanted to make payment over the phone. I'm a member but don't have any accounts besides a HELOC. The experience alone of getting ahold of someone at this credit union is enough for me to never do business with them again. I've been on hold for 32 min and counting. This is completely unacceptable. ....49min and counting ....1hr 1min and counting ....1hr 16min and counting ....1hr 27min and counting App...which absolutely sucks, says customer service is available on Saturdays from 9-1am. Done...this credit union sucks

I honestly don't know how your company does business. It take over 20 minutes for someone to answer the phone after pushing numbers 3-5 times then be hung up on several times. On top of that, I try to get a loan and then get no response back. I call and finally get a hold of someone just for them to say, yes, we have a decision. Ok, then why didn't you call me back! Great way to run a business!!! Glad I bank somewhere else.

This is the worst bank experience ever. They took all of my money when I got my check direct deposited and put it on a loan that I have. I told them I would pay for a month or even 2 months but no they took all of my money and said I can't get it back. So I busted my ass at work to have no money for another 2 weeks. Also, 3 different people told me I could get my money out then the teller tells me I can't get it out and they have to take it. They also charge $25 for overdraft or not enough funds every single time. They don't even give a warning for overdraft, I don't check my bank account every day. Also a manager and multiple other people have told me they refunded my money back to my job because the account was closed when my direct deposit came but they didn't refund anything. They don't know what their doing at this bank and their liars. Never using them again.

My wallet was stolen and my entire checking and savings account was totally drained. I happen to have medical conditions that affect my memory so I happened to put my pin in my wallet (I know, cardinal rule but I have never had a bank account before so it really didn't occur to me and due to my medical conditions I have trouble remembering things) Someone stole everything I had and I'm on disability, I don't have much' So I call to dispute the charges and a few weeks later a very hostile woman called me. She said that since I had my PIN number in there, I gave my money away. I said "wait, I don't understand" and her nasty reply to me is "what? You don't understand the difference between protecting your money and giving it away!?" I was not about to make her day and start and full out argument so I just told her that I hoped she had a good day and God bless. They emailed me another one. That one was invalid. Then I was told to go to a branch in person and apply for a new one because they couldn't prove it was me who was requesting it. Which I understand. And so I went in and went through the whole process of reissuing me my new debit care and just as I was pulling out of the driveway I received another phone call and I was told that I, could not only not use THAT debit card either, but that they would never reissue me a debit card again. The only form of payment that they allow is cashiers checks and money orders from me now. I was shocked, stunned and mad as hell because this stupid company doesn't seem to have it together. On person says one thing, another says another and now I'm penalized for life from ever have another debit card with them again. Their customer service represenstitives were very hostile, abrasive and did their best to make me feel as UNwelcome and acted as though I was intruding upon their precious time. One lady even hung up on me and the only thing I said before that happened was "I'm a little shocked and taken aback." Then I heard a click in my ear. I would Strongly deter anyone from giving them business because they treat you as though you robbed the bank,, not as the person that was victimized. Don't wasite your time with this business they don't refund you even though I obviously didn't give someone my card and authorize them using it. I'm now banking with Chase and they're wonderful to work with. WARNING: DO NOT waste your time with this business, they don't really care about helping you or working with you. It didn't matter that I have medical problems with my memory, this business cares about nothing except your money. NOT you.

Been a member for years and hated every min of it...terrible service , their systems have gone down at least 2 times in the last year (when system is down you cant access your money!!) They simply dont appreciate customers .I once was told i could get a 2ed debit card and so i took a day off work to go there to get it and when i arrived they told me thats not possible and that whoever told me that on the phone was wrong(no compensation was given to me even after i asked for my missed day of work) This credit union should be avoided! There are many better credit unions in the area

I have been without my card for over 2 weeks? What the.... Cx service slow to respond and could care less...they say "sometimes mail gets lost" Hmmmm

I called Credit Union One on Jan 19, 2018. Tina was the person who answered the phone. I sure lucked out with her service. She went above and beyond. She met all my needs and then some. She answered all of my questions and resolved 2 problems. Thanks Tina. I will be back. :)

this place is a cruel joke, do not put your money in this place. I have a BUSINESS account, with my name on it. Had the account for 20 years., Stupid black woman teller tells me I cannot deposit a check or cash it because it is made out to me personally. My name is the only name on the business account, stupid idiot, the manager (also stupid black woman) tells me the same thing even though I have done this probably 100 times before. the teller last time told me I have a different birth date on the account? what ?? never heard that in 20 years, these people are puppet drones, and they cant even do that right. My friend opened that account for me. so I KNOW it was right. In short STAY AWAY, think I will be closing my accounts with them soon. IDIOTS, hope you are reading this.

I really wish I would have read the reviews before getting a car loan through Credit Union One! Their interest rate is great( only reason why I’m willing to give one star, not that it’s a choice to not give one) I had A horrible time setting up my online account for auto payments, so I gave up and use checks. I’m actually happy I use check because reading these reviews I can at least say I have a paper trail and they can’t over charge. Their customer service is the worst, I spent Over an hour on hold and they barley helped me. They lady seemed uninterested, rude and bored. I also sent my Payment in 2 days before the four day payment time, it’s three days over that date and they still haven’t prossed my payment and I really Don’t want to call because of the service! I think if I can Move my loan, I’m willing to take a hit on the interest rate to get out of this credit union!

Been with them over 5 years, have 7 or 8 people in my family who bank with them, finally had enough of their bs. We all are canceling our accounts this month and going to huntington. They will screw you over any chance they get.. by far worst "credit union". Hopefully this helps anyone looking into them.

I been with this Credit union a very long time before the new building was even up on 9mile. I never had a bad experience with the people or banking with them over the last 25 years. But.... in 25 years you will think someone would say let get some new ATM machines at least one that accept cash not envelopes with cash .. I wish they could explain why they dont also use zelle or have a decent online banking app. Is it to keep cost down.. I live in Detroit I have to travel past my bank all the way to Royal Oak to a much smaller credit union(not a cu1) to deposit cash .the funny thing there is a Credit union One across the street form that bank too..Please get with the times .i love banking with them but i dont like that i have to do it at a bank that's not mine.. I wonder is it to keep the overdraft fee coming in. Because if one could put cash in that goes directly in the account like most banks are doing you would have to wait for 2days for your money to process . The only reason I have Bank of America is its ATMs that it I deposit money in that account every single day from my snack cart. Credit Union One is way better I wish I didn't need BOA .but the ATM has me right now

I went to this location twice. Beautiful building by the way. The first time, the customer service was on point. The second time, the customer service was dry & semi rude. I appreciate that they have a diverse group of young ladies that work here at this location. I just wish the customer service was consistent.

Only gave them one star because zero stars is not an option.. Their App is terrible, so choppy, takes forever to load, minimal bank features.. I usually have a problem with my debt card once a month, just because I bought something not in the city I live but the city right next to me they flag your account and shut your card off.. Oh I hope it is not on a weekend or after 5pm because they have no debt card support outside of 8-4pm M-Fri.. And if your card is flagged you cant even take money out of the ATM if your enter your PIN and everything.. Customer Service is prob a D+ at best usually they blame you for the card issues.. This place sucks I cant wait for my loan to be done so I can shut my account down... DO NOT BECOME A MEMBER.. OUR/Genisys/Michigan First/ all much better Credit Unions

I thought they were great I recommend it a lot of people to them and everything I had been with them for years but soon as something happens I had fraud on my account that I kept getting credit cards from them that didn't work and then they didn't even allow me to get another credit card so I'm in the process of closing out my account and going somewhere else I would not recommend Credit Union One to anyone else

Deceptive and lying customer service. Full story is bellow for those interested. Please stay away as much as you can. I had a car loan with CUO. I wanted to sell my car and had a buyer. When I called CUO to inquire about the process, they said that CUO has the title of the car (I am not located in Michigan) and when I wire the money, the title and lien release letter will be mailed to me. So I wired the money, and called them the next day. The second time (10/25/2018) I was told that they do not have the title of the car, despite me asking few times and stressing the fact that car is not registered in Michigan. I was also told that email should suffice to get a new title without lien. I asked very specifically to send me a paper copy with the email as well, as I knew that notarized copy is needed for Maryland. 5 days after that (10/31/2018) conversation I called CUO again and was told that they do have the title, they are not sure why I was told differently before and also told me that lien release was not sent to me as I requested. I was obviously upset, and asked them to have a rush delivery of these papers to me, they said they would. 8 days after that (11/9/2018), still got nothing. The buyer of the car refused to wait for this circus any longer. I called CUO again, asked for supervisor. I was told title and lien release was reviewed the same day when I called (10/31/2018), but was sent via regular mail, not rush. Supervisor told me she would review my phone conversations with customer service and will get back to me. I received a notarized lien release letter postmarked 11/12/2018 on 11/17/2018 with the letter itself dated 10/31/2018. So it was sitting with them for almost 2 weeks and was not sent! I never received the car title. Not even a courtesy call with apologies from them. Supervisor never followed up with me. So I am left with a car without any way of selling it now, as the buyer refused to wait, and a loan that I covered borrowing cash from my friends. All because of complete and utter incompetence of CUO peppered with a thick layer of constant lies.
