Quick and efficient

We have a brand new mortgage with mass housing. We called for weeks, asking to make our first payment that was due between 9/1-9/15. They promised we'd get the bill in the mail and to use that to make payment. I received a bill in the mail TODAY, 9/13 with a late notice. I'm not feeling too confident about having a mortgage with them.

I was really thinking of dealing with them but after reading the reviews I am really disappointed the main one is the late notice i don't play with my credit i hope they improve because this doesn't look good.

The phone reps they have are a mixed bunch. Either you get someone who is helpful or you get someone who must've stayed up late the prior night drinking.

Terrible website that makes it difficult to login and recover a password - poor customer service.

I'm surprised at all the bad reviews, because I've had a pretty seamless experience with MassHousing. From closing to dealing with a homeowner's claim to adding a HELOC, they've been great about providing documentation, and I have autopay set up so I haven't had any issues with payments or anything. All the people I've spoken to have been helpful, and the few times I've had to leave a message about something, my call has always been returned (which we all know isn't the case with all businesses any more). They gave me a mortgage when no one else would, so I'm really grateful because I wouldn't have my house without MassHousing.

They lost a $1700 payment. My bank says they cashed it but MH claims the payment was only for $235. One customer service rep said i was paid in full up until the lost payment. Another says I still owe January but February is paid. He couldn't explain why February would have been paid before January. So its possible two months of payments have been lost. Now besides the monthly mortgage, I have an additional $4000+ payment due but nobody can answer what this is for. In December they held my payment for some reason. It was never applied to the mortgage, just held for a month. When they finally applied it i was charged a late fee. I've been trying to get a payment history, but no luck. I haven't recieved any statements or bills from them this year. I don't know what's going on.
