Capital Good Fund has been an incredible non-profit organization to many people, including myself as a former FC+ (Financial Coaching) Fellow years ago on building credit history. I had difficulties building credit through having no credit history of any kind and applying for credit cards was basically impossible, until I used my past fellowship training knowledge on applying for the CGF Credit Builder Program. I reached out to Capital Good Fund's Director Of Coaching (Hillary) who guided me through the process where I took a no-interest loan for the program to build positive credit history for 12 months, going from no credit history to having credit history that has allowed me pre-approval of several basic credit cards. I've highly recommend on doing the CGF Credit Builder Program for anyone looking to build positive credit through past history of credit problems, or no credit history at all. Tell them I recommended you!

The loan agent roxana did a extremly fast and professional job. It was basically a 24hr process to get approved and 48hr total to get funds deposited in account. I searched through many different loan companies and was grateful to have found such a great loan company such as Capital Good Fund. I had a death in the family and had a huge burden of paying for the funeral, I had searched and ntoiced every company had hefty fees that went along with their loans. I finally found Capital Good Fund and I felt such a relief because not only was their loan application simple but it didnt have outrageous fees etc that usually go along with it all. I was referred to Capital Good Fund by an online car search site, and I was skeptical at first. My credit and income isn't excellent, but I'm a decent, hardworking person and decided to give them a chance to help me. There were so many other outfits offering short-term financing, my email inbox was being bombarded with offers with very high interest rates in the fine print. I was really concerned about getting ripped off. I'm glad I was able to get a pre-approval letter from Capital Good Fund. I had all the documents, but sometimes their communication about specifically what they needed wasn't clear in the first instance, but they were patient until I was able to provide them with what they needed to secure my loan approval. It was a longer process than I expected; it took more than a few weeks after I signed a purchase agreement with a dealership to close the loan, but I am certain a hasty process to get financing through the dealership would have resulted in a financially damaging decision. I was concerned at the end of the process with Capital Good Fund that a "mistake" which increased the expected interest rate of the loan over what I expected from the pre-approval letter was going to break the deal. They apologized and corrected the error, but I'm not sure what they would have done had I signed the incorrect contract. In summary, get all your documents (paystubs, utility bills, license), get pre-approved, shop around to get a good price on the car you want, get your insurance binder with the lender as lienholder, make sure you demand a copy of the signed sales agreement, and most of all, don't make the mistake I did of handing over your trade and taking delivery of the car until the loan is closed, even if you have to wait a while, it will only make you nervous until you sign, and the dealer will likely hound you for delays you have no control over. It probably would have been better to tell the dealer I didn't need their "backup" financing, which will cost you thousands more if you end up needing it. If the dealer pressures you to do otherwise, buy your car somewhere else. Good luck, and thanks Capital Good Fund for helping me meet my goals.

9/19/19 ( after hours ) applied for loan online 9/20/19- was prompted to send in statements 9/20/19-4:45pm I was told via email they have received my documents and I would have a decision within 1-2 business days . At 5pm that same day I logged in my account and it already said “ convey decision “ so within seconds of looking at my bank statements they had an answer ?!?? The next 3 days after that . No live rep to talk to , and with the chat option they all said the same thing. “ Your decision has been made but only a loan officer can look into your account “ they will get back to you today ..... today a week later still nothing . No YES no NO. I just don’t get it ! And after reading the reviews it seems as though your communication is lacking . As customers we trust in you when we are In a bind or have an emergency because we need the money . All the chat reps were very nice but it seems as though all there answers were scripted . If you can’t loan us the money that’s ok but it’s just wrong to leave people high and dry for days / weeks waiting for an answer . When the yes or no is sitting in my file . I need to know if I need to look else where . The way your website portrays itself is like you care and want to help and respond fast . I just don’t get it . As of today 9/27/19 after chatting with about 5 reps I still don’t know if it’s a yes or no .

I’m only giving them a ONE star because when I paid off BOTH loans, they never reported paid off to my credit. I filed a dispute and then they were nasty and falsely not only reported late payments that weren’t correct, they reported my loans were not paid off or closed and that my balance actually increased. I’ve reported them to the BBB, and filed yet another dispute with bank statements showing they drafted my payments every month on time, including my final pay off amounts! This company will also be reported to the FCRA for not following guidelines and reporting accuracy to the credit bureaus. Absolutely terrible that a company would do this to anyone! I haven't had heat since September and I went the Mass Save route. I was approved for a Mass Save HEAT Loan. There are bunch of lenders that participate in the program and I did contact about 5 of them. All of them denied my 0% Mass Save HEAT Loan for one reason or another. It is now December and I still do not have heat or hot water. I'm getting desperate and read about Capital Good Fund. I filled out their Loan application and didn't have much hope. My application was assigned to Roxana. She couldn't have been nicer and helpful. The great people at Capital Good Fund worked with me to get the loan approved. They were able to iron out wrinkles that other banks wouldn't. Everyone was great. I will definitely be recommending them in the future and calling them first. my attorney refer me to this company and lo and behold they gave me such a hard time for this loan and up to this i did not get the loan cause i have my one off my family members on it .and mind you they do a hard pul and i dont like that instead of doing a soft pull ,and it make yourr credit score go down.its not what you think its is cause they will tell you one thing nd its another all i wanted the loan was for my immigration status ,so any can comment on this , i see they have allot off bad reviews

The folks here really care and are able to help people in all different kinds of situations. They are professional and innovative, they will do research and find ways/solutions for their clients who are struggling with financial issues. I came to capital good fund for help figuring out my finances. I felt I was in a horrible, hopeless situation and I just really didn't know what to do anymore. My initial conversation with my coach Vanessa was very refreshing, she didn't judge me for any financial "mistakes" and encouraged me to use the word "sacrifice" rather than "giving something up". When seeking financial advice, some of the "financial experts" make someone in a situation like mine feel like they can't seem to get anything right. Vanessa was non-judgmental and really helped change my mind set of being a financial failure. I left my first session feeling like I was in very good, capable hands Vanessa and I met once a week for four weeks. We went through what my monthly costs were vs. my income and seeing that my housing was taking up 67% of my income helped me to zero in on my problem. We talked about debt, my credit report, and she helped me to prioritize and figure out how to deal with past-due rent and past due car payments. Today is my last visit with her (for now) I will see her again in July 2018 for a six month review. I am looking forward to coming to my review with less financial baggage than I have now. I am confident that in 6 months my situation will be much better because of the plan Vanessa and I have come up with.

I’m curious as to how this place is helpful to people when they have no appointments, mostly everything is done online then wait three or four days for a decision. When you’re having an emergency situation waiting three or four days is a bit much. Advance America checking to go in 123 cash all serve the same purpose they give you a decision in minutes and you can walk in anytime ! They do not check your credit !

Soo this review is on 5/20/2019, not only have I tried on multiple occasions to get a loan even for the lowest amount and I was told that I wouldn’t be able to pay it back because I didn’t have “enough income “. Even with the proof that I received not only more than the loan I was requesting, but even the interest. Then they said it was my payment history, clear as day I have auto pay for the simple things and as far as rent I took pictures of my receipts but yet I got denied. I’ve tried to get the help from capital good fund at least 4 different times in the course of 3 years and every time no luck. I’ve even suggested a couple of friends who came across hard times and yet no luck and they definitely have had the income and pay history to qualify but they also have gotten denied. But yet we question who do they REALLY help ? Possibly their own kind. Where do the funds go if they aren’t truly helping people?
