I have banked with this bank for over 50 years. When it was I S F they give me my first mortgage.The most important thing is that it is still owned by Blacks. I am business man and at one time I had accounts at 4 different black banks. Today I do business with two. GN and One United Bank. The largest Online black bank in the country.

This is place is horrible. Absolutely no, zero customer service. The manager of customer service absolutely refuses to call me back. It has been a week now. Never do business with blacks or black owned businesses.

Still waiting on my bank statement that was "being sent in the mail". I have banked with this bank for years when they had passbooks to tell a customer the exact amount they had in their savings account. I am seriously considering removing my money and going elsewhere.

I left this bank after having multiple issues with receiving my card. I consistently updated my address, and they consistently failed to update the system. They recently added a mobile app. Until now I could not do any banking without coming into the branch. The website is extremely difficult to use. I would not encourage anyone to bank here. Just because something is a community bank doesn’t mean that customers deserve poor service.

BANK FRAUD!!! They take any extra payment that you make to pay down your loan premium and use it to prepay future months then say "the computer did it, we can't change it". Where is the FCC?

Service has declined over the last year. More than once I've been in the 46th and King drive location and there was only one teller and only one customer in front of me and I ended up having to wait 30 minutes to make a deposit. The other Saturday I went to the bank at 11am and it was closed even though the posted hours said otherwise. Also, just this year three times I've been in the bank and had to wait around for 30+ minutes because the bank was waiting on the computer system to start working so they couldn't do any transactions. I've banked there more than 10 years and recently more than once I had to leave without service because it was taking too long, or a teller was being so rude to an older customer I couldn't stand to be there and listen. Once I brought it to the attention of someone working there and they said it was ok the customers like it when the tellers are rude. I hope the bank improves and becomes more consistent with being able to help the customers. I went to the bank on A Friday morning to get a cashiers check to get money out of my savings to pay for the food for a funeral and the bank said they couldn’t help me because they didn’t t see my name on the account. I’ve been with the bank more than 10 years and every time I try to withdraw they say they can’t find the information and need to get a signature card from the main branch and for me to wait while they get it faxed over and the next time I come back it will be fixed. Well it has been three years and they are still waiting on the fax. They wouldn’t give me access to the money in my account so I had to scrounge up the funeral money from somewhere else. This bank has promised more than once over the last three years that someone would call me and I’m still waiting on the call. This bank is unprofessional and inefficient and not a safe place to keep your money.

I walked in the bank 2 months with lots of excitement because I was doing something that a few months prior, didn't seem to exist. I opened bank accounts at a BLACK BANK! To my surprise, I was greeted by a customer service experience that matched my excitement. I explained that I was on a time restraint having to come during my lunch break, I informed the banker of my situation and they were very understanding and the utmost accommodating, 2 team members helped each other in completing the opening process in a timely but also thorough manner. We completed the process 10mins earlier than I expected. After surpassing all my expectations, I promised the reps that I would write a review of how great my experience was working with them, it made me feel good about my decision to start with a new financial family is what I remember it feeling like, I left feeling delighted and secure.❤️ Mrs. Uyatt mailed a hand-written thank you card to thank me for opening the account. I have and currently banked with Chase; Citi; PNC; BMO; US Bank and this was by far the most grand customer service experience of them all!

My grandmother lived in what's now called Bronzeville for over 70 years. She and my grandfather banked at Illinois Service Federal which was exactly 2 blocks away from where they made their home and raised their children. All mortgages and loans were with ISF. I took a lesson from the wise and have banked with ISF for 25 years, It's a place where everybody knows your name and are always glad you came. Customer service is excellent and you get the same level of attention from bank tellers to vice-presidents. A well kept secret on the South side of Chicago.

I am trying to get a mortgage thru a Black owned business but it appears that they don't want new customers or any customer for that matter. I have called many times no answer...i have stopped and mortgage lender was not there received the direct number but they didn't help either. No one ever answers the phones.. ugh...
