REVIEWS OF Unisa Inc IN Colorado

I had a TERRIBLE experience with Unisa. The director/manager that I spoke with was extremely rude and condescending- a person named JR. The customer is not made a priority at all. I was charged for insufficient funds due to a website error (the website is poorly constructed, difficult to navigate, and absurd on mobile- and as it's 2017 the very least a company can do is make sure its mobile app doesn't look like it was copy and pasted onto a screen). Not only did JR refuse to refund the charge, he was completely unapologetic, blamed me for the mistake and talked down to me about the situation. He then asked me insincerely if there was "anything else he could help me with". I would never recommend this company to any school to process loans. Ever.

Is this company real? I have not gotten a response in two months and my school just transferred my loan here. I’m trying to pay and set up auto pay but their site does not even work? Can the department of education look into this fraudulent company.

mike gaudio

sketch website. Need to take payments over the phone yet have been in business for 30 years??? Just read other reviews. Stay away if possible.

Jonathan S

They sent me a notice of my debt and without any sort of explanation of what the amount owed was for and they set me up on this payment plan (thanks for asking). Can't get a hold of anyone to figure out how to pay it all at once before they start making a profit off my debt with charges that companies like Pay-Day-Loans were taken down for. I've already filed a complaint with The Department of Education, and I suggest anyone else who has a loan with them does too. A front like this should not be handling loans.

First time I called in the customer service representative was super helpful and nice. I was trying to set up auto payments but didn't have all my information on hand. When I called back the customer service representative, RJ, told me the only was to apply was online or through the paper they sent me. Lazy and inconsistent customer service team that wasn't helpful.

I had THOUGHT I was finished paying my student loan (that was transferred to them a year ago) last month. I even tried to pay extra so as to cover any interest fees that would occur due to their processing time. It didn't let me. So imagine my surprise when I check it a week later and it shows that I STILL owo some money. So whatever, I pay it as it's under $5. And now I check again and I owe MORE interest?!? This is bull. Will be calling and seeing if I can get this fixed.

Terrible website management.

Obviously nobody wants to have a loan with these people. Horrid service, Check payment only, bad transition site wise, and my phone call just got disconnected while writing this review. This company doesn't deserve to be in business.

Michael Tantillo

One of the top services I have received. Would highly recommend this company.

This company doesn't deserve to be in business. It feels like a complete and total scam. Can barely get on their website, and nothing on their sketchy website even works. I set up autopay and it was "confirmed" with a sketchy once sentence email from from some weird email address and then no payments were taken out. Have been emailing and calling for months with absolutely no response. This is literally the worst company in the entire world they need to be shut down.

I have had terrible experience communicating with this company. My automatic payments were cancelled without my knowledge, and I was then given late fees. After setting it up again, the same thing happened and my bills were showing two missed months of payments with late fees attached; however, my bank account was showing differently since I was in fact charged for those two months. After trying to call and email numerous times with no one responding to me, I finally reached someone who was helpful. I wish the professionalism of this company would be reviewed, and management would work on making sure the needs of their customers are met to avoid unnecessary stress, and wasted time.

Josh Conner

Terrible company. Their website does not give you enough information on your account and they make it difficult to pay off your loan. Terrible customer service. I tried paying off the balance of my account and they messed something up on their end and still charged me a service fee. Very upset my school sold my student loan to this company. Feels like I’m getting scammed.

My Perkins loan was transferred to this company about two years ago. It was very casual and there was no welcome loan - or any other documentation except a statement received four days before my due date. Since taking over they have taken forever to process my payments; their website is atrocious (no place to view pending payments, no confirmation emails, nothing). I have filed several complaints with my school's Financial Aid office, but this company; UNISA, gives the same run around to my Alma Mater as they do to me when I call. You're given a very basic email address to contact "mattchinn", which is apparently the guy who created this company. Overall it's extremely unprofessional; confusing website - even after their re-design; no confirmation emails for pending payments; no place to view pending payments; and overall takes many days for them to withdraw money from your account. I've had to start taking screen shots of my "payment confirmation number" to prove I've paid; in case they never take it out of my account. Awful company - almost feels like it is a scam even though it's not.

Their website is literally the worst. On the mobile site you literally can’t even log in to your account. If you didn’t know any better you would think their website is some sketchy website that might give your computer or device a virus. Horrible web design, horrible to look at. Horrible, horrible, horrible. That’s the best way to describe Unisa Inc. It’s no wonder they have a 1.7 out of five stars. I can’t even find my tax information anywhere on their website when I am able to log in from a computer or desktop. Get it together, Unisa!! Horrible customer experience. Absolutely, 100% HORRIBLE!

This is one of the worst loan companies I have ever had to deal with for my Student Loans. Horrible customer service. Sometimes they will answer their phone without even a proper greeting. Just "Hello". It's scary just to give your social security number over to their phone agents just because you're not sure if they really are a legitimate company. My auto payments magically stopped going through after four successful payments after the turn of the year for absolutely no reason. They described it as a IT issue on their end when I called furious after I got a delinquency notice posted to my Experian Account, all during the time I was attempting to buy a car. Thanks too their "IT issue" my credit score lowered by nearly 100 point and this greatly hampered my ability to get a good interest rate when buying a car. I have never missed a single payment for anything in my 12 years paying my own bills since I became an adult. I filed a dispute with Experian that I am still fighting to get rectified nearly 3 months later. Even after they fixed the issue, my next payment that came out through auto pay was 3x my monthly payment. I'm sure this company is a scam stealing our money away in one way or another or the owner runs his company like an absolute moron when it comes to employee training.

Marisa Gordon Harness

Terrible customer service. Website looks like a scam.

Justin Meyerowitz

Customer service line does not pick up, company does not answer emails, and the website does not provide legally required info on loans. The department of education needs to get on this and shut this company down.

Dean Johnson

The website is awful. There are misspellings and it won't take info I'm trying to input.

Blayne Jemelka

Website is TERRIBLE and does not accurately portray your payments. I've tried calling numerous time to get the problem fixed so that the website actually reflects the payments I've made and I can get a better idea of how much I still owe, but still the problem (after MONTHS of calling) is not fixed. At least I've always been able to reach a customer service agent easily, but working with this company has been an awful experience and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Dan Huddell

I cannot pay my bill because your website sucks. I can't use the mobile version (the hamburger button is broken that would direct me to the LOG IN page...), and when I went to the desktop version and typed in my credentials LITERALLY nothing happened. I tried the "forgot password" button thinking it was my fault -- surprise surprise, that link is broken too. It brought me directly to an error screen. You guys need to hire some better developers and perhaps a UX Designer as well. Anyway, I can't log in or call, because when I call the phone tells me to use the website to pay my bill. I had to use their sketchy chatbox as my last ditch effort for help. I'm done wasting my time on your crappy UX. If you want help with your horrible customer service and website design, my suggestion is to contact Forrester Research. they can help you perform a Digital User Experience Review on your mobile app and your website so that you can start to fix some of these glaring mistakes. Your website should make it so that people are able to pay their bills, not dissuade them from doing so.

Nathanael Smith

Absolutely terrible website. Would error out frequently and made loan payments difficult. Customer service via phone is friendly but not useful. Called to try to sort out my loan status (should be paid off, but NSLDS indicates otherwise), and they assured me that my accounts were paid in full and offered to send me a statement indicating as much. Weeks later, I have not received any such statement. Overall, this entire situation is unprofessional enough to feel like a scam.

Jessica Whisman

If student loan companies weren't bad enough, this place is filled with people who couldn't care less about the loans they handle or the people paying those loans. Reading me information, from a computer screen, which I already have in my hands is not customer service.

Ashley Kirkham

I personally have had wonderful experience with these people, I have spoken to them on several different occasions, and they are always easy to work with. I enrolled in auto pay via a mailed in statement that I get every month, never had a problem with this company.

Glenn Hampton

I had a recent collections account pop up on my credit. I contacted this company to see what was going on (since I never miss my payments) and they were very easy to work with and accommodating. All of my calls and emails were returned within a few hours. Can't say I've ever had a bad experience with them like the other reviews here.

elkanah werther

My loans was recently transferred to this company. So far no one has been answering the phone.

Ricardo Anzar

This has to be the worst website for online bill pay. I can't believe my school switched their student loans accounts over to this company. Ever since the school made the switch, I've had multiple issues with my payment amount, automatic bill pay, and posting payment to the correct accounts.

Toby Koch

website designed by blind high school intern.

Cheryl Stevens

I can't log onto their website to pay my bills 90% of the time for various reasons. Sometimes I think they do it on purpose so you have to pay late fees. They have several complaints on the BBB site (rating 1star).

Zaheer Kamal

If I could give them 0 stars I would.

Shae Addison

I emailed them two months ago about the payment that was sent to the previous company. I needed to make sure they received it. Never got a response. Haven't been able to set up auto bill yet. Yeah... their website is awful. Makes me feel like it's a scam.

Jessica Trosclair

Yesterday I authorized a payment, and today my account was charged for $1000 more than the amount I authorized. Now they are not answering the phone when I try to contact them to correct this action.

Julie Nelson

VERY Poor customer service. Representatives do not take their customers seriously and do not stick to their word. Very disappointed in the customer service I have received after my loans were transferred to this company.

Chris Tantillo

I have had nothing but extremely positive experiences with Unisa. Excellent customer service and I am excited for the potential to do more business with them!

Michael J. Winstanley

Notoriously terrible.

Tatiana Moon

Website is very hard to use. Constantly had to dispute late fees because they did not properly apply payment. Payments were always early and on time. Terrible customer service.

d taylor

Website doesn't load after login. Cellphone or laptop

Have had a terrible experience with Unisa. Our loan provider switched over to Unisa and we received nothing telling us how to access our accounts. We have since then had several questions and have not been able to get ahold of Unisa Customer Service after various phone calls and emails. Very disappointed to not be able to access something of such importance!

Heather White

Received a letter from them that my loan was transferred to this company 3 weeks after I lost access to these loans at ACS (which is the next worst student loan servicer). With no prior notice. Just made my payment inside the 30 days late window. Mobile site does not work and looks like a cheap scam site.

Michael Cruz

One of the worst websites I've ever been. I can't login to my account because of an unknown error. I can't even make another account because of an unknown error. I reported a separate issue before, but they said they were unable to reproduce the issue and stopped contacting me. This company shouldn't even be qualified to run a business, assuming they are even legit to begin with.

Carli Olenberg

Really pleased with the service I have had with Unisa!

Jamie Chinn

The team at Unisa provide amazing service! Very satisfied.

Nick Johnson

Joe Wilmot

Honestly I've never had worse experience with any other customer service/billing agency. They don't care about the customer and sent me my bill late by 11 days and then proceeded to charge me late fees. When i called to resolve the problem the issue they said give us your checking account and routing numbers and we will charge you over phone. They also have sent my billing statement late twice now so I've been forced to sign up for autopay. Worst service ever, feels like a scam and it's a good thing I only owe $500 left.

If you need to take out a loan, ask your university or whatever to find a different provider.

Erin Waters

I pay my bill via check and for three months they supposedly have not received my payments. I have tried calling and emailing to get the problem sorted and I cannot get a response! Now they have reported nonpayment to the credit bureau something fishy is going on. These would have been the final three payments closing out my loan. I feel they are trying to make money off of late fees. HORRIBLE customer service this business needs to be looked into I am completely dissatisfied.

Joseph Braught

They did not provide basic loan information (interest rate, loan type, payoff information...). They never responded to emails. My biggest complaint is that there is no place to check the status of your automatic payments. I applied for automatic payments, I did not receive any contact saying that my application failed and there is nothing on their site to tell you otherwise. Next thing I know, I am getting late fees. Now, after I have fully paid off my loans, they are still debiting my account and there is no way to cancel the payments online. Navient automatically adjusted my payments when I had paid off loans (and they have a section on their site where you can see the status of your automatic payments and cancel them...)

Alfred Burns

I had my loans through ACS previously which was already bad. To make matters worse, just like some other reviewers said, I was switched to this company without any prior notification and began to receive notices saying I was late with my payments. Confused by these notices I did some research and figured out my loans had switched and my autopay wasn't activated anymore. They claim that I am late on my payments and are trying to send me to collections when I have tried to contact them over email, over phone MULTIPLE times to explain the situation and make them realize I was unaware of any of this. I immediately made a payment greater than the 3 months I owed and set up auto payments. It has been 1 month now and they still haven't gotten back to me and I can't get anyone on the phone. Paying back student loans continue to be a nightmare for me that I regret going to college for every day now especially when my schooling has done nothing for me on the job side and all the experience I needed to get a well paying job had to be done by me and my hard work, not some piece of paper that says I learned a bunch of outdated things that don't matter at all in the ever fast growing job field I am in (technology). Ugh.

Timothy McInroe

Ethan Tamez

Website does not work. I called and set up a login, website still doesn't work. Will not set up auto-pay to a company that will probably turn out to be a scam.
