Just an informational note: The Interim Pinney Library at 211 Cottage Grove Road is located at the former Ace Hardware location across the street from the old Pinney Library. The Interim location does not have meeting room space, but you can find other meeting spaces in the surrounding area. The site of the old Pinney Library is being redeveloped, and our new library at Royster Corners is not yet ready for us to move in. We have moved to an interim location for a year until the new library is ready. The present location, in April of 2019, is the THIRD spot where this library has been; so when they move into their "new digs" in 2020, that will be their FOURTH location since the library of my youth, back in the 1960s.

Great place but wish they had outlets by the comfy chairs. My laptop has a short battery and don't like sitting at a desk.

Haven't been here in awhile, but overall it is probably the best library in Madison. Very few sketchy people, and very few snobs. Longer computer times than some other libraries. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is because when I used to go there, some of the older librarians were kinda beechy and would tell us to be quiet when we weren't being loud or bothering anyone, yet wouldn't tell other people that were being a lot louder and more disruptive to shut up!

Condescending librarians. Don't act put out when people need help as it is your job.

Stopped by the public library on Cottage Grove Rd on 06/26/2017 to make some copies of a resume. The front desk referred me to the resource desk for copying assistance where I was greeted by an employee named Robin. I don't even know if there are words to describe how professional, patient, respective and pleasant Robin was. Recognizing that I did not know the difference between a copy machine and a bowling ball, Robin walked me through the entire process; even taking a 5 minute break to allow a rude and impatient patron to get her copying done so she could get to the post office before 5:00. True testament and refreshing to know that exceptional people like Robin, (while hard to find) still do exist. My complements to the individual(s) who hired her!! To Management: Please see that this communication finds its way to Robin's personal file and is taken into consideration during her next performance review.

Like most libraries in Madison it is extremely loud. I don't understand why there can't be a standard for being quiet. Libraries shouldn't be places where people have normal conversations like they would out on the street but it happens all the time.
