I go to highschool at Burlington-edison and they want me to pay for a library card because I live in Bow. They want me to pay 25 dollars for a 2 month membership library card when this is the closest library to my house..... I'm trying to study for the sat and I'm already stressed enough... I go to highschool here shouldn't that be enough..........this BS I have to pay to check out a book that my school library doesn't have......... I'm so disappointed......

Requires a password to use the Internet. Not open to tourists who don't live in the city, without a local address.

Great facilities. Somewhat limited in materials. People often do not respect library etiquette. There was a guy who came in with his hardware and made a huge ruckus that annoyed multiple people studying at the tables. One lady approached him but he just said to "piss off." Librarians did nothing. Also, I've seen people come and conduct counseling meetings loudly without consideration of the other people in the library. Why not just go to a coffee shop if you're trying to do work that requires excessive noise or conversation? The library staff should enforce a quieter more conducive environment for those trying to study or read as this is the expressed purpose of libraries, is it not?

A relatively new building, very open and well lite. I like its layout. Has several features I have not seen in a small library. Staff is friendly and very helpful. It is on Skat 300 route and the stop is near the library.

I love this place for all of the things that are offered here, like computer time, can check out movies, sit and read a magazine or a news paper, socializing with people you may not see or talk to daily

Let me tell you all a story: once upon a time 16 year old me went to the library and lost the key to unlock her old car. For whatever reason I never made it back to the library (changed schools, then moved away for college) but I was recently back in town visiting my parents and getting my car fixed so I was killing time and stopped by the library. Lo and behold, they have my key and have been holding onto it for almost 7 years. I’m truly amazed that they still had it anyways libraries are amazing, support them.

Staff was friendly. Also helpful. They understood the inadequacies of using printer for the first time and made it seem like they were happy to assist. Wonderful quality.

WiFi, quiet, nice atmosphere. Comfortable seats, a fireplace, and plenty of materials to enjoy while you’re in the library, such as all the periodicals you could ask for and several computers. Warning on the quiet: people do use this as a meetup and study or play spot, so at times it is somewhat noisy. Use a private study room if you need more quiet.

A treasure house that serves the community is so many ways. If you have not visited recently, stop in and see what you are missing. Did you know that they lend movies, music, e-books, hot spots, and more? Or enjoy the book clubs, game nights, live programs, story time for kids, and other activities. It is one of the very best and positive assets in Burlington.

Couldn't believe that we were denied a membership to the local "public" library because we have a home that is in the county, just across the street from the city limits. I have two young children that were extremely excited to use the library and check out books and we were told that it was only for the residents of the "city". I have never had a problem being a member of a library, and I have lived in many places. This just seems to go against everything a library should. Disgusted.

Look up at the beautiful ceiling. This place is quiet and great for studying with a lot of outlets and chairs to sit. There aren't too many study TABLES but there's a lot of seating in general. The staff are friendly and I've had great experiences every time!

Very nice public library! Contrast to what was reported in previous comments, out-of-town visitors can get a free guest pass to access internet and computers.

The staff is kind and very helpful. The collection is on the smaller side, but I've had success using the interlibrary loan system and items arrive pretty quick. There's a great kid section that's very inviting and encourages my kids to plunk down with a good read.

Tina Warren

Staff are friendly and helpful. The have many types of books to find.
