I love the environment of the Appleton Public Library and often go there to work. Great collection and convenient location.

One of Appleton's finest resources. Don't let the negative reviews prevent you from enjoying a wonderful asset to downtown Appleton. The employees are dedicated and friendly if you approach them that way. The ability to get books loaned from other Wisconsin libraries means you have even more availability. Spend an hour or three. Have a driving vacation coming up? Borrow an audio book and watch the miles and hours disappear. We do that for every trip and actually sat in the car until the CD was done before checking into the hotel. Yes you do need to donate to the parking meters, but now that you know - not a big deal to bring some change along. So spend 50 cents on parking or $20 on a book at the mall? Your choice.

I take my children there almost every day. My son loves the book selection and my daughter always finds what she needs. My youngest, a 2 year old, LOVES the library. I think it has a great selection and checking out books is easy! My son says he wants to be a librarian when he grows up and he wants to work at APL. Thank you for your great selection! Thought parking sucks...;(

Very courteous and helpful staff. They have a great selection of books, dvds and plenty computers to browse the Internet or print copies. I do not like paying for parking in their parking lot. All in all though it's pretty good.

The parking meters suck. If you don't have coins, you're SOL. Also, 10 cent fine for returning item "late" - i returned it on its due date, straight after work since work in Appleton but live 30 min away, at 6:45 pm but apparently that counts for nothing. Overall sub-par experiences with this library compared to others. I will not be coming back to this branch.

The library has a nice atrium area with live plants; this is a nice touch, especially during the mid-winter months. That aside, I was working on my computer at one of the desks in the library, minding my own business, when one of the staff told me I had to move because I was in the 'teen' section. I was appalled that this type of discrimination (in the form of ageism) was committed at the hands of a public servant. Although not an actionable offense, it nonetheless reflects poorly on the library and it's staff.

All-around excellent place to hang out. Good for kids and adults alike. Be sure to turn off your phone alarms if you're going to go up to the second floor. Also in order to get a library card you need documents. You can find pretty much every book imaginable here, even video games and audiobooks!

There needs to be more diversity in the library staff. There tends to be discrimination in treatment from the predominantly Caucasian staff towards minority patrons. That's not great customer service!

Amazing selection and helpful staff. DVD's are not the easiest to search though. Check out is a breeze. Multiple events and programs, plus areas for teens and kids.
