The computer lab smells so bad I got a headache 10 minutes after getting there. There is actually a lady that sits and monitors you while you're on a computer. What are we...5 years old?

I like our library very much...staff is always polite and helpful. It's very close to my home as well, which is another reason why i enjoy going. As well as a good book selection, sufficient computer lab, and good DVDs. If they don't have materials you need, they will order them or find them for you. Great atmosphere inside and benches outside are a plus in warm weather. Also a small park area with benches just across the street, on the Queen Street side, gives patrons another place to take books and relax! Have no complaints!

The staff at the Martinsburg Public Library have been great! They even went above the call of duty by helping me after hours with a lost item when they could have just as easily made me come back the next day. If your ever in need of a space for a meeting I highly recommend them. The space they provide is excellent and so is their desire to make your events a success. Thanks a lot Library staff, for all your hard work and great attitudes! I look forward to working with you all more in the future.

To comment on another review...there WAS a friendly and helpful staff in the children's section. As there was at Hedgesville library. Unfortunately, the new director decided to fire all of them plus many part-timers for absurd, make-believe reasons. To add insult to injury, she's thrown away over 30,000 books, many of which were donated in memoriam of a loved one, or checked out on a regular basis. She's taken away many of the programs that used to exist, along with the relaxed, friendly atmosphere we all loved about our libraries. I can't stand to go there anymore and now drive the extra distance to Morgan County. If she leaves, and the librarians get their jobs back, they'll get my patronage back!
