Was there today and they would not let me get a library card without having a utility bill. I live in a house with a group of people so I don't get the utility bills. They offered no other option. The first person I spoke to about this was rather rude and acted like a bouncer at a nightclub denying me entrance. It was pretty bizarre to be treated that way at a library. The second person was friendlier, but also would not let me get a library card without a utility bill. I have lived in similar situations in various states and have had library cards to numerous libraries. I have never had to provide a utility bill, including to the main library in Richmond. I would prefer to go to this one since I live in Chesterfield, but I'll have to go to Richmond since they let me use their library. It feels weird to be turned down from a library of all places, but with how I was treated, I have no problem not going there anymore.

I entered the Central Library searching for books about a research topic for an online class. The librarian who helped me was very knowledgable and kind. I have no experience writing research papers and she was very helpful and taught me a lot of things that I did not know. I really appreciate her for helping me so much. Give that gal a raise!

Being remodeled so hoping it will earn the fifth star next year! Update 7/30/18 - open for business and absolutely wonderful now! Wide open spaces with a lot of seating, work stations, business center, quiet room, lighted stage and much much more!

Who spends a million dollars to upgrade a library and forgets about kids?? Chesterfield County does! We were told THIS branch is meant for kids 7 and older. NOTHING for little kids to do here like the other branches. CCPL, you get an "F" on this update/remodel because you FAILED to think about the youngest library members.

I love my local library. I realize that I am old and the days of a quiet library are over. However, I do not think it is unreasonable to expect that the librarians at the front desk ARE NOT contributing to the noise level. The recent night that I spent time at the library working on the computer was very distracting due to the loud talking, laughter, etc from the staff at the front desk, especially the lady w/ glasses and long auburn hair. Please try and keep the noise down from the library staff. I do not think work is supposed to be a social hour.

Fantastic Library. Wished I had visited this facility sooner since living here in Chesterfield, 4 miles away for 5-years. My New Go-To Place as I work from home as a Cyber Security Masters' Degree Mentor for a major National University. Super Facility with Unlimited Opportunities. v/r, Dr. KEK

Went to this library when I was a kid when it first opened but it has not aged well they could do with the remodel and the bathrooms are in a horrible state. There are no good study areas the library just to show your age. Libraries in the north of the county are much better specifically Bon Air and the one on Courthouse. Makes me wonder what Chesterfield is spending their money on. They definitely should we invest in their libraries especially the one right next to the county office.
