REVIEWS OF Springville Public Library IN Utah

Amazing! They may have fewer books than other libraries around, but Springville has a much better selection. They have books about everything my kids and I are interested in, and I have found other books, not on my list, that were so interesting I checked them out, too. Every book is relevant! Autism to ants, drawing, Egypt, bedtime chapter books, dragons, Spanish, audio books. Everything for the kids is displayed so it's super easy to find. I really appreciate that in the children's section, and book face forward so covers are easy to see rather that the spine. That is probably my favorite part. They also have very relevant monthly displays. Again, every book I have checked out has been relevant. Some I liked so much, I bought my own copy. I'm bummed I moved to Orem and can't get books here any more unless I pay, what, $100 per year? They do have a better selection. I have gone to Springville just to look through a book I wanted and then ordered my own copy.

Great library! They have so many programs, events, etc. They really have something for everyone! Both kids and adults. I love their movie selection, they have a lot of new movies but also “oldie but goodie” movies too!

Derek Lefler

The building is nice and large, but this library has a very poor non-fiction selection. Also, why city libraries, instead of county?

Brantz Woolsey

They are seriously the best! They are so quick to get the books you need and can help you get them if they don't have them. They also have non-traditional items like telescopes, sewing machines, etc that you can check out. Go check them out!

Ryan Hart

I come here several times a week to be tutored in my college math classes. There are nice private tables to sit at. The Library is clean and up to date. Overall just a great environment to be in!

Love this library clean and staff are very helpful

This is really a nice library, especially for a smaller city like Springville. They have an ample computer lab stocked with your basic Dell brand PCs and they also have a “creative space” with apple computers. The book selection is also very wide, with plenty of fiction and nonfiction titles available. Certainly an asset to the city of Springville.

Sherilyn Colby

We love this library! If they don't have the title you want they often order things in for you or it is only a dollar for interlibrary loan. The staff is amazing! There is a lot of technology though so your kids may not come and just read at the library and find books.

Rebecca Thomson

The staff is super helpful. They have activities for kids every week. My family love this library. When my husband has to study for a test he goes here. This is a really good library.

Adrienne Everitt

I love the library! My kids and I usually go twice a week--once for story time and to get books and then later in the week to get more books! We love the staff--from the librarians to the storytellers to the custodian. We just always feel so welcome there. I love how they are willing to try new things and experiment, too. The children's librarians are the BEST!

Josh Mayer

I love the location. The hours are great except I would like to see it open longer on Saturday.

Springville Library is a very nice and we'll maintained space for all ages. There is ample comfortable seating, which is a big plus for a library. Great for small groups to meet quietly, get some work done, read it socialize. Another big feature is the floor-to-ceiling windows which bring in a ton of natural light, and the interior design, with glass-walled computer and meeting rooms, allows the light to carry through the whole structure. There are computers in several places, including a quiet computer lab (one of the glass-walled rooms). I have to say, the internet (desktop) and wifi speeds are both pretty slow, and there weren't very many people using computers this morning. While lacking the big "pop" kids play attraction, there is a large book collection, small play spaces, and some computers for kid use. The teen space is somewhat smaller, in comparison to the other areas of the library. If you have a teen, you know they can be kinda loud, and like to have their "own space", to some degree. I live the outdoor terrace along the Hobble Creek. It is a wonderful place to sit outside and read or socialize. There is a nice bridge across the Creek to a small park (which needs some improvements), where you can walk down to the water. The Springville Library is a great place, among the best assets in the area.

Gorgeous building and excellent technology and book resources.

Wonderful library! Much bigger and better stocked than I'd expect in a smaller city. Great programs for a variety of interests. The best part is the family friendly environment.

This place is amazing. Spacious, lots of great seating, great collection of books and movies. And unlike many other libraries, to rent the movies there is no additional cost. Truly a great find in a quaint little town.

I loved this library for a while, but I have a toddler who loves elevators and stairs. The second floor is only open for certain events, but they don’t keep either of them secured (paper and/or chain on the stairs, nothing on the elevator) but the staff will still make you feel like a criminal if your toddler pushes the elevator buttons. I can chase him, but he’s just too fast for me to stop him overcoming virtually nonexistent barriers like this - they might as well put forbidden cupcakes in the middle of the floor - the only reasonable way to keep a toddler out of trouble in that situation is to not introduce them to it in the first place, so that’s what I do with the Springville Library - I avoid it. I suggest avoiding it to anyone else with a toddler, as well, and it’s a shame I must do so, because this library is otherwise quite amazing! Dress up areas, activity areas with blocks and magnets, and fantastic imagination areas and kits!

This is the coolest library ever! The high-tech checkout is really cool and easy and the conveyer belt book return is fun. The building is beautiful and has a great atmosphere. They do all sorts of activities and events and even have great authors come in.

I love this Library, I only wish that their hours on Friday would be later, sometimes i have the urge to go to the library on a friday night. but they aren't open. Other than that the staff is super helpful, the building is always clean and they have great books.

Not only can you check out physical & ebooks, but they have some pretty amazing programs. Currently they offer weekly kid programs like storytime, music and movement, babies on laps; dance classes for adults like yoga & Zumba; family events like a Family Valentine’s Day dance & ‘Carnaval;’ and monthly classes. Super cool.

We are so grateful for the Springville City Library. Our business has had the opportunity to be hosted by the Springville Library on several occasions, and we have been met with the best support and the most gracious hosts! Thank you for all of your tremendous programming! We love having you in the community!

We have been going weekly for over a year and couldn’t be happier with the library, staff, activities, story time. Truely the highlight of our week.

I am routinely surprised and frustrated to discover titles that aren't in the library's collection. I don't know if it's because they have limited shelf space or if it's because they constantly cull older books in order to be "hip" & "cool". It's been happening to me for years. I'll give you some examples: In the past they didn't even have literary classics like "Zorba the Greek". When the Hunger Games series was new they only had a few copies of the first book even though they had about a dozen copies of the second book, creating a "chokepoint" that limited the number of people who could try out the series. More recently I put in a request for them to purchase the newest canonical Star Wars novel (because aren't Star Wars books a teen-section staple?). They still haven't procured a copy of the book even though they've added two audio versions of it to their collection. And then today I discovered they don't have a copy of Leonard J. Arrington's "Great Basin Kingdom", which *should* be a basic part of any western history or Mormon history collection. For whatever reason, Springville Public Library has too many glaring gaps in their collection. If this is due to a lack of shelf space then why did we build this brand new library? Maybe it's time to use the upper floor to expand the stacks instead of hosting the occasional wedding reception. When I attended the planning meetings for the library I was given the impression that the upper floor was set aside for eventual expansion of the library's collection. If these gaps are due to staff culture then the culture should immediately be corrected. I know the definition of 'public library' is changing, but shelves upon dusty shelves stuffed full of books is STILL part of what a library is supposed to be!

Great modern space with plenty of seating and fantastic hours.

J.B. Stephens

Very good library, one of the best I've ever been to.

Dallin Barker

Amazing location. Lots of books, everything I like. Also has amazing summer events, for younger kids and teens. The teen summer kickoff was amazing. Laser tag, cotton candy, and games, it was lots of fun with my friends. The end of summer party is the best, with giveaways and snacks in a VIP area.

Here are a few of my favorite things about this library that I enjoy: The classes they offer for small children, such as story time, are wonderful. The staff are great at managing a TON of small, unruly children. There is also an area with Duplo blocks, magnets, and a light up table with X-ray film for little ones to play with. Lots of computers available, books of every genre, and a great selection of audio books and movie. The grounds are well kept and even my youngest enjoys the waterfall with rocks outside.

Alika Ashby

I ordered a hard to find book I was searching for. They had it within two weeks! Super impressed. Also, I feel very peaceful and comfortable inside the building. I love spending time there.

Samuel Ryland

One of the best libraries I've ever visited - lots of space and books, a really fun play area, and lots of great events happening. Wish we had a library like this where we are now.

Jed Reisner

Free WIFI.

The staff is friendly and helpful. There are no restictions off the bat when you go to checkout for the first time. The children's part is next door. I do wish they had an awning at the back that connected the two. The park is across the road and parking is in the back.
